Gorgeous day.

Hi there, well it's a gorgeous day here in the West Midlands and I do hope it is wherever you are.
Well John's out of hospital and much better. It turns out it was pneumonia so he's got some breathing exercises to do. First time he did them I thought there was something wrong with him. I said "what's the matter John" in a state of panic and he said oh I'm just doing my breathing exercises. Can't print my reply!
I've been to Lyndsey Maries opening of her new craft shop Lora Crafts today. Of course I had to buy something to support her, well thats my excuse anyway. She's got a lovely selection of stock including Penny Black, MS punches, K&Co papers, Nesties and loads more. I got a K&Co paper pad £1 cheaper than Hobbycraft, some DS tape, some printed Craftwork Cards sentiments and a Nestie labels die. If you are anywhere in the vacinity of Wednesfield Nr. Wolverhampton you might like to pay Lyndsey a visit. She's situated in the shopping precint at Ashmore Park estate.
Well I'd better go I'm supposed to be getting on with my project which needs to be done by the beginning of next week but I keep getting distracted.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Love,
Pat xx

Just a quickie

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good day. I'm off in a minute to go for lunch with my daughter as there's no visiting this afternoon at the hospital. John is much better and can't wait to get home, which hopefully he will be in a couple of days. He asked me to thank you for your good wishes.
Well yesterday I ordered some of the Elisabeth Bell stamps that Crafters Companion now have in stock and yippee I got them this morning. How's that for service? Can't wait to have a play but I've got a project on the go at the minute so I'm gonna have to be patient.
Well better go and feed my tummy.

Tuesday Taggers - Sepia

Hi there, well don't these Tuesdays roll around quickly. So it's Tuesday Taggers challenge and this week it's to use sepia tones in your choice of creation. If you are short of ideas and need some inspiration pop over to the TT challenge blog and check out the fabulous DT creations. Don't forget it doesn't have to be a card, anything goes really. The Stamp Man is the sponsor this week and Jill has created a lovely project which is shown on the TT blog.

I decided to make a little wall hanging this week.

The base is corrugated card with swirls stamped in Archival sepia ink using Crafty Individuals swirls CI - 235. the plain paper is from Basic grey archaic pad and the picture is a Crafty Individuals Miniature from the Places & People 2 pad. The buttons sentiment & string are all from stash.

Before I go just want to let you know that Crafters Companion now have SCADC stamps by Elisabeth Bell & Victoria Case in stock and at a great price especially if you are a member.

Thanks for visiting I really do appreciate it.

Have a good day.

Good news & Thank You

Good morning everyone,
Well I am feeling much better today as John has begun to improve and is much more responsive than he was. What a relief. I would like to thank all my fantastic blog buddies for their wonderful messages of support, they were such a help and I really appreciate it. Aren't crafters just the most wonderful people, the salt of the earth as the saying goes.
Once again thank you on John's behalf too and if I get chance I might be back later with a card.
Hugs,
Pat xx

What a week

Hi everyone, well I hope you've had a better day than I have. I mentioned in an earlier post that my hubby John who suffers from MS wasn't too well but it got a whole lot worse and he was admitted to hospital today. It was very scarey as they thought he had an aneurism at first which is life threatening. Thankfully after doing a CT scan they found that wasn't the case. However they decided he had some kind of infection but weren't sure what type or which part of the body. When I left they were waiting for the blood cultures but have started him on antibiotics anyway. They got him quite stable so hopefully he will have a better night and tomorrow they will know the extent of the problem.
I feel totally exhausted not getting much sleep the last couple of nights so hopefully I'll have a good night and feel refreshed tomorrow ready to face whatever transpires.
We are still waiting for the insurance to come and assess the damage to our drive so it is all fun and games here at the moment.
Never mind these things come to try us but I just wish they wouldn't all come at once!
Hopefully I'll have better news tomorrow.
Sorry for being so gloomy.
Love, Pat xx

Colour Create challenge - Neon green & black

Hi there, hope you are all having a good day. Started off dull here but the sun has just come out so hopefully it will stay for a while. I'm trying to catch up on some crafting today that has been put on the back boiler while I've been busy working on some projects. Hubby isn't too well so no gadding about to craft shops for us today.

Well I haven't had chance to join in the challenge over at Colour Create for a while which is a shame 'cause I love this challenge. I was determined to get a card done today for the challenge, which by the way is neon green and black with the option of leaves and charms and so here it is.

I decided to use my new cuttlebug folder that I got last week from Crafters Companion I had admired this for a while and decided it could be the answer to my Christmas card crisis. So I now have one Christmas card made, loads to go. The card blank is papermania, the green pearl is from CC, black pearls from Joanna Sheen. Ribbon, lace border, tree charm all from stash.

Thanks for popping by and hope you have a good weekend.

More fairies

Hi there, well I'm back with a few more samples I made for the laaunch of Crafters Companion Christmas Flower fairies. Hope you managed to catch the show but if you missed it you'll see it again at various times during the week, while the stocks last.
Just to tempt your appetite.............
This first one is a card shape you've seen me use before, one I designed myself. I printed directly onto some of the CC pearl printer card then added a stamped and coloured image of the Christmas Tree fairy.
This one is a double waterfall card printed from the CD, one of the Christmas Tree fairy and one of Holly. Again I printed onto the pearl card, it gives such a fabulous finish. The Backing paper is printed onto vellum and I used the MS doily border punch for the edges
Here is Holly stamped and coloured using copics
This is the front of the double pop-out card.
The inside with two shrink plastic stamped images
Again printed onto pearl card and vellum and used images from the toppers section of the CD.
The largest was sprayed with gothe gold spakle spray.

This looks like two cards but is infact one. The tall section opens out sideways and the shorter section opens upwards. Toppers from the CD.

3 boxes printed from a selection on the CD and you can choose the size you want. The tag is from the toppers section.
Toppers paper and border from the CD
Hope these samples give you some inspiration and please let me know what you think of the POTW and the cards. Thanks for visiting.
Hugs,
Pat xx

For this one I printed onto CC printable pearl card and used the rubber stamp for the main image.
Hope you enjoy the show.

Tuesday Taggers -Diecuts & Punches

Hi everyone, sorry I'm a bit behind today posting my DT my creation for the Tuesday Taggers challenge. This week the challenge is to use diecuts and punches in your creation, you don't have to use both, unless you want to of course. If you want some inspiration pop over and check out the fabulous designs the DT have come up with. Do hope you join the challenge this week and I look forward to seeing your fabulous creations.

I've used the Shapeability Fleur de Lis pendant die to cut these pretty shapes. I've folded sections to create the medallion effect. These dies are very pretty but it can be a bit tricky releasing the diecut.

Well that's about it from me today but I'll try and get back soon with another card. Have fun.

Love, Pat xx

Sunday, 13 September 2009

Sorry no creations to post although I have been busy crafting on another project. Also had a bit of a crisis here over the last couple of days. The water main outside our house burst and caused our blockpaved drive to subside. It's like a beach out there with all the sand. It's the third time this has happened to the drive which is unbelievable. Even more unbelievable is that the mains between the five houses in our row have burst 7 times in the last 9 years. Think it's about time the water company got there act together. Hopefully someone will come out tomorrow to decide whats gonna happen about putting the mess right.
Well enough of my problems. Hope you've all had a good weekend enjoying the sunshine.
Bye for now,
Pat xx

Cute Companions Winter Tales

Hope you've had a good day and enjoyed the lovely sunshine. Here are a few of the creations I made for the Crafters Companion Cute Companions launch.

This is the box which contains the baubles on the ribbon.
The bauble images are stamped onto acetate and glittered then layed on nesties then attached to the ribbon.

This one is a shadow box but the picture is a bit dark

There are lots more so I think I'll make a "Slide" with them.

Candy & Tutorial

Hi there hope you've had a good day.
Just popped on to let you know about some candy that Angie has on offer and also a great frame tutuorial she has on her blog. Haven't had a chance to try this out but when I get some time I will definately give it a go.
Hope to be posting pics of some of the creations I made for the launch of the Crafters Companion Cute Companions Winter Tales, designed by Jayne Nestorenko, soon. If you didn't catch the shows today you might want to check the collection out on the CC & Jaynes websites. It's a brilliant collection.

Tuesday Taggers

Well doesn't the time fly? Another week's gone by so it's time for another challenge over at the fabulous Tuesday Taggers. The challenge this week is to design a book mark with or without a card. As always the choice is yours , card, tag, atc, whatever you like. If you need some inspiration the Dt have come up with some fabulous creations.
Right then here's my creation.

The bookmark is part of the card and I've used my perforating blade to enable the bookmark to be detached. The perforation is between the lace border and the birdcage section.

The DP are basic grey (sorry can't remember which set). I've used distress inks on the edges.

The birdcage and leaf images are stamps by Crafty individuals C1 234 and the little horse pic is from a pad of images Miniature People & Places 2, also from Crafty Individuals. These were all park of the freebie I got when I took up a subscription to Craft Stamper (my very favourite mag) last month.

The girl in the moon is one I saw Jayne Nestorenko demonstrate way back when and I just had to have it. She's stamped onto acetate and glittered.

The lacey border and fibres are from stash.

Please pop over to the T T blog and take up the challenge, I'd love to see what you come up with.

Bye for now,

Love, Pat xx

Todays Creation

Hi there, hope you have had a good day. We had the grandchildren for a few hours today and although the weather hasn't been too good we managed to keep ourselves amused indoors. Elliot played with his dinosaurs with Grandad while Jessica and I, yes you've got it, did some crafting.
We made this little card for a friend of their's who's starting school next week.

Sorry but the picture is a bit washed out, in reality the colours are lovely and bright. Anyway you can get the idea. The Dp are basic grey. The image has been downloaded from Elizabeth O Dulemba's coloured with copics. I let Jessica have a go with the Copics and she loved them, better keep them under lock & key I think. The sentiments are computer generated and the buttons, Jessica's idea, are from stash.

Well I'm off for a blog hop and I'll catch you later.

Tuesday Taggers

Hi Everyone, hope you've had a good day. The Tuesday Taggers challenge this week is to use buttons & bows in your creation, which can be whatever you choose, be it a card, tag, atc, inchie etc, the choice is yours. The challenge this week is sponsored by the Craft Emporium and Lyn has put up a fantastic prize so why not pop over and check it out and the brilliant DT creations.
Here is my take on the theme ..................

This was quite a simple card to create but I'm quite pleased with the result.

The Dp is basic grey, the buttons are a border from the Cute Companions CD, the shoe is a digital download from Sketching stamper, sentiment computer generated, pearls and gems from stash and the lovely gold bow is one I have recyled from some packaging.

Thank you for visiting,

Hugs,
