Best friends forever

Justine and I had a lovely day at the cupcake workshop. We learned how to make the perfect cupcake sponge and then were shown various ways of decorating using buttercream.  So here are the cakes I brought home with me, not too bad for the first attempt.

Now for the cards I made using the free set by Jayne Nestorenko which are being given with Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine.

Jayne will be on Create and Craft tomorrow at 11am with her fabulous new collection "Apple of my Eye".

Love

Back in Action

Good morning dear friends

Pleased to say I have my laptop back in action, after it died on me last week. Fortunately it only needed a new power cable so not too expensive or serious. Did make me realise though that I really should back everything up more often.

Anyway now that I'm back thought I would just remind you that the lovely Jayne Nestorenko will be back on C&C tomorrow with her gogeous new collection "Apple of my Eye". If you would like a preview just pop over to Jayne's website to take a peek.

Also there is a free exclusive stamp set from the collection with this months copy of Cardmaking & Papercraft and it's gorgeous.

I'll pop back later to share a couple of cards with you that I made using the freebie stamp set.

Well better get going as my daughter and myself are off to a cupcake decorating workshop this afternoon after having a nice lunch out. So the diets not going to do too well this week!

Catch you later
Hugs

Fungi

Hope you are having a good week so far. Mine's been somewhat stressful but what's new. Anyway best solution for that is a bit of crafting isn't it?

The main image I have used for this card is by Stampasaurus and I coloured it with Copics, my favourite colouring medium. The flower stamp is a Crafty Individuals. I used Spellbinder dies for the frame, flourish's  and the bottom panel. The flowers are from my stash and the butterfly was cut with a MS punch. I added diamond stickles to the flourish, flowers and butterfly. The papers are Basic Grey.

As always thank you for visiting

Cool for Cats

I decided to try out a technique I saw in this months edition of Craft Stamper to create the quilted effect backing paper. You use a piece of acetate and shade along the edge with Distress Inks or Adirondacks moving the acetate along a couple of centimetres keeping the lines equidistant and parallel. As I am not confident in my aligning skills I decided to draw a line 2cm in from the edge of the acetate as a guide and it really made the job easy.

The Pussycat is a Docrafts stamp I came across while sorting my stash. Amazing what you forget you've got isn't it? Anyway I coloured it with copics and added a touch of glitter here and there.

Quite a simple card to create but a very effective technique, although the quilting doesn't show to full effect in the photo.

As always thank you for stopping by

A pretty young lady

Today I would like to share a card I made using a spellbinder die I bought last week on one of our trips out to a Garden Centre. Yes another Garden Centre with a craft shop, perfect! It's Birkley Garden Centre at Barton under Needwood in Staffordshire.

Actually the card is lilac not blue as it looks on the photo.  The image is from Crafty Individuals Miniatures People and Places 2. The card in cordinations. The dies are Nestabilities Decorative Elements labels twenty seven and Shapeabilities Persian Accents. The embossing is a Coutour Creations Romantique collection Annalee which was a gift from a dear friend.

I am entering this card in the following challenges

Very good wishes
