Honey I shrunk the plastic!

Sorry I'm a bit late today with my Try it on Tuesday challenge creation.
John had an early appointment at the hospital for a routine check up and I didn't get around to scheduling the post.
Anyway better late than ever here is my card.

It's a wild card challenge this week with the theme of using shrink plastic on whatever you decide to create.
I chose a card because I really need to get some more Christmas cards made. I cut out the stamped shrink plastic image using a nestie and "cooked"  it in the oven after my heat gun attempt didn't provide a good enough result. I made up an aperture card using nesties and the grand calibre. The flourish is a spellbinders. The paper is My Minds Eye. I was happy with the result so made up a few similar ones yesterday to boost my stock.
Hope you decide to join us and have some fun shrinking some plastic. If you need some inspiration please pay a visit to the challenge blog to check out the fabulous DT creations.

I'm off now to get some more Christmas cards done while I'm in the mood.
Thank you for visiting and enjoy the rest of the day.

Peace and Tranquility

Hi there dear friends.
Well I had a lovely birthday weekend. Lots of lovely cards and presents and a lovely meal out courtesy of my wonderful son and his fiance. I must say food, cakes and chocolate have featured heavily since Friday. Jessica made us some yummy banana muffins on Friday which really got the food fest started. Thanks Jessica.
Now onto this weeks challenge at Try it on Tuesday. It's Tag week and the theme, as my title says, is Peace and Tranquility. There's not been much of that  going on around here lately.
Here's my tag.

The image is a Clarity stamp on a brayered background using Mountain Meadow Big and Juicy. I inked the image and then ran the brayer over it and onto the card to get the reflection, then stamped the main image direct to the card. The outer part of the tag was also coloured using Mountain Meadow but applied with a sponge. The fern sprays are a Laura Ashley stamp. I don't think I need to say the tag was cut using Nestabilities.
Please check out the challenge blog as there is plenty of inspiration from the fantastic Design Team and we would be really chuffed if you's join us for the challenge this week.
Well that's about it from me today. We are off to The Heart of the Shires today (between Rugby and Northampton) for a bit of "Nice" shopping and some lunch. There goes the diet again!!
Thanks for visiting

Monochrome

Tuesday again and time for another Try it on Tuesday challenge.
This week it's a Monochrome card that we want.
Here is mine

I chose to go black and white but you could use shades of whatever colour you choose.
A less is more card from me this week. The backing paper is from the DCWV Glitter Stack and is beautiful.  Sadly the photo doesn't show off all the lovely glitter.  I thought this cat stamp lent itself to a minimal design so I just added a bit of shading using a light grey copic pen.
As always the DT have created some fabulous examples following the theme. So if you'd like some inspiration why not pop over and check them out.
Thank you for visiting me today, I really do appreciate it. Please leave me a comment to let me know you've been and then I can come and visit you.

Alter it!

It's time for another challenge with Try it on Tuesday and this week we'd like you to alter something. This week the challenge is sponsored by our good friends at the Craft Barn so if you do join the challenge don't forget to put a link to them in your post to be in with a chance of winning their £15 voucher.
I decided to alter a CD case.

and turn it into a post it note case.
I used the lacey circle nestie to cut the panels for the front, back and inside. The lovely glittery paper is DCWV Glitter stock
The centre flower is a stamp by Hero Arts and I coloured it with copics and glazed it with crystal laquer.
I made my own post its by cutting out circles of white paper using a nestie and then spraying a small top section with Stick & Spray.
The rest of the DT have excelled themselves so please pop over to the TioT challenge blog to check out the creations .
Thank you  for stopping by today and if you'd like to leave a comment that would be wonderful.
Have a good day

Anything goes.

As the title says Anything Goes for the Try it on Tuesday challenge this week.
So folks if you decide to join us for the challenge this week you can create whatever you like with whatever technique and style you like.

I decided to stick with a card because there was a stamp I really wanted to get inked up.

The image is a stamp by Stampotique and called Prom Queen.  I bought it with the intention of making a card for my Granddaughter's prom (moving from primary to high school), but never got around to it at the time. So I've given it to her now, well better late than never.
I just adore these gorgeous images and their quirky style. I coloured it using copics (not that it took much colouring). I cut the card shape using the Grand Calibre and Grand Scalloped Nestie. The lace down the edge was white but I coloured it purple using my copics.

My fellow teamies have some fantastic projects to share with you if you'd like to pop over to the TioT challenge blog.
Thanks for visiting today

Inspiration from your home.

Hope you all had a good Mothers Day and got spoilt rotten.  I had some lovely gifts Cupcakes, Chocolates, Flowers,  a gorgeous box of smellies but best of all the company of my two wonderful children their partners, my two gorgeous grandchildren and my Mum,perfect!

For our challenge at Try it on Tuesday this week we'd like you to create a Card and share with us something from your home as inspiration for the design.  I wouldn't say we are nosey just a little bit inquisitive.  The challenge is sponsored this week by One Stop Card Crafts and to be in with a chance of winning their £10 voucher you must link them in your post.

My inspiration came from the bed in the spare bedroom. Mind you don't look too closely as the bedlinen looks a bit "distressed".

I used a mask and Faded Jeans distress ink to create the diamond background then used Vintage Photo DI around the edges.  The stamp is by Crafty Individuals CI-069 stamped using Momento Espresso and edges with Faded jeans DI then stickled around the edges. The flower, gems and lace are from my stash.

We do hope you'll join us this week, so please take a look at the fabulous DT creations over on the challenge blog to get some ideas.

Enjoy your day,and thanks for stopping by,

Chocolate!!

It's Tuesday and time for the latest Try it on Tuesday challenge.
This week you can make whatever you like as long as you use the theme of Chocolate, which was chosen by our super talented Michelle. Michelle celebrated her birthday last week and I think she was hoping she'd get some, hope you did Michelle.
I decided to make a card with Easter in  mind.

I cut out an egg shape from some lovely shimmery brown paper I had in my stash. The DP is by Craftwork Cards as is the sentiment  (shame I covered it with the ribbon when I took the photo) and candy.  The flowers are stamped using a freebie from Craft Stamper a while ago, I just added a little bit of colour with my Whisper water colour pens. The ribbon is from my stash.
We would love you to join us this week for the challenge so please pop over to the TioT challenge blog to get some inspiration from the design team.
Have a good day

Alter something with wings!

This week over at Try it on Tuesday we would like you to alter something and  include wings. I think that offers quite a bit of scope and variety.
I decided to try altering a candle. I have had a go at this once before but it was quite a while ago and that  time I used an iron to transfer the image.  This time around I decided to use my heat tool and preferred this way.
Here it is

I stamped one of Sheena Douglass's stamps onto tissue paper using Momento ink and coloured the image with copics. I cut around the image, laid it onto the candle and wrapped greaseproof paper tightly around the candle to keep the image in place.  I heated the image through the greaseproof until I saw the image come through the paper.I removed the greaseproof and voila there it is.  This technique give you the same excitement that watching embossing powder change does!

We'd be so pleased if you decide to join us for the challenge this week, so if you need a little inspiration please visit the TioT challenge blog and see what the DT have created.
Have a good day.

Try It On Tuesday - Tag for a Man

Well better late than never!
So sorry that it has taken me so long to get around to posting my Tag for this weeks challenge.
No excuses, I'll just get on with it.
Well last weeks challenge was a popular one and we had some fantastic entries.  Let's hope everyone likes this weeks challenge as much.
It's Tag week and we'd like you to create one for a Man.
Here's  mine
The tag itself is made from some embossed card which I had from Crafters Companion a while ago and the lighter paper is some I found in my bits drawer. I really can't remember what I used to make it, some kind of ink or paint but I used some Rusty Hinge DI around the edges before I put it on the tag. The embellies were cut using some Shapeability dies. I highlighted the number and added faux stitching (difficult to see on pic) around the edges of the tag using gold Pen Touch.

The DT have created some fantastic Tags and I'm sure you'll feel inspired if you pop over and check them out. I'm so looking forward to checking out the entries this week.

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving comments which I really do appreciate.

Love
Pat xx
