Just Magnolia challenge

Hi, hope you are having a good day. It's very warm here but unfortunately not the lovely sunshine they've got at Wimbledon. Never mind I've had quite a good day so far. The grandchildren stayed over last night so had them to sort out first thing, but they behaved and Jessica even managed to make a couple of cards before school. Now's that's keen! Anyway when they'd gone, did a bit of the dreaded housework and then John and myself went out for lunch at the local garden centre. It's a lovely garden centre but to be honest I think the cafe does the most trade as it's very good value for money. You should see the cake counter, yum yum. I did not secumb however, oh OK I did buy sweeties from the old fashioned sweet shop in there but they were medicinal, mints. Since we got back home I've been crafting in my very untidy craft room (that's Jessica for ya!) so I think before I do any more I'm gonna have to have a tidy up.

Right then, this is my creation for this weeks challenge over at Just Magnolia. If you haven't checked this blog out may I suggest you take a look 'cause the DT cards are wonderful and great inspiration.

Recipe.......

  • Card base Bazzil Bling

  • Paper Tutti Frutti by Crafts House

  • Image Tilda coloured with Cosmic shimmers and whispers

  • Nesties

  • White border by Craftwork Cards shaded with Worn Lipstick Distress ink layered onto a lace adhesive border.

  • Sentiment Craftwork Cards

  • Ribbon, flowers and gems from stash.

Not entirely happy with this but it's done so decided to go with it anyway.

Thanks for visiting,

Have fun

Tutorial for springy card insert as requested

Hi there, hope you are all having a good weekend.
Ildiko asked how I'd created the inside of one of the cards I made for the launch of Popcorn the Bear and I've finally got around to doing some instructions, sorry for the delay Ildiko!
Just click on the image and you will be able to read it better and print it off.

On this card I aligned the insert to the fold of the card on the original I placed it away from the fold and it gives a slightly different effect.

Well I hope you are able to follow these instructions and that I haven't made what is quite a simple technique into something which seems more complicated. I'm new to this tutorial business but 'praps I'll get better with practice!! If you're not sure of anything just shout.

Fancied a change

Hi there, well I hope you like the changes I've made, thought I would like a different layout , less fussy and a bigger area for the posts. I will probably tweek it a bit more as I go. No cards today but hopefully I'll have a something to show you tomorrow when I've made my creation for the Just Magnolia challenge.
Better get off to bed now but how much sleep I'll get I don't know as the old joints are paining me today and the painkillers don't seem to have worked.
Well goodnight catch you tomorrow.

Colour Create challenge- Pistachio, aqua, powder pink

Hi there, well I'm on the ball again and got the challenge done 1st day. Trying not to get behind as I have been lately.
The colours for the CC challenge this week are Pistachio, aqua and powder pink with the option of using buttons. The DT have created some wonderful cards.
Not too sure whether my colours are quite right but I tried, honest.

The stamp is a Sugar Nellie Lola coloured with Whispers and cut out with a nestie. If I remember correctly the paper is Dovecraft retro flowers, The border was cut using Xcut border system. The buttons are layered onto small punched daisies, the ribbon is from stash as is the little heart. The sentiment is computer generated.
Thanks for visiting,

Tuesday Taggers

Hope you've all had a good day enjoying the lovely sunshine, hope it lasts for a while. We took advantage of the lovely weather and had a ride out to Stourport on Severn which is about an hours drive away. John and I took my mum with us and she really enjoyed the visit because she hadn't been there for a good few years.

Hope you've watched the Launch of Popcorn the Bear tonight. What do you think? Cute or what?

Now onto my creation for the Tuesday Taggers challenge. This week the challenge is to use as many stamps as possible. I managed to use 4 different stamps and two of them more than once.I stamped a leaf design several times onto the base card with Versamark and then brushed over Perfect Pearls. The floral design was stamped a few times and embossed with clear powder and coloured with Whispers. The background of this section was roughly washed with Perfect pearls and layered onto gold Mirri card. The girl image is from Pink Gem designs and has been coloured with the Perfect Pearls together with Whispers, the edges distressed with Perfect Pearls and then layered onto gold Mirri card. The flower is stamped and coloured with Whispers. The sentiment is computer generated and the ribbon is from stash.
Thanks for popping by and I'd love to hear what you think of this card and also what you think of the gorgeous Popcorn.

The top card opens to reveal pop put swirls like the other card but I haven't posted the pic because it's black glitter paper and doessn't show up too good on the photo.

I can't wait for the show tomorrow,

Whiff of Joy challenge.

I'm trying to get myself back in the challenge routine and to start I've made a little creation for the WOJ challenge which this week is to include paper piecing on your card. I love this technique, although with the arthritus in the fingers (poor old sole!!) I don't find it quite so easy as I did. The DT have come up with some gorgeous and very inspirational designs so can I suggest that you go and check them out, you wont be disappointed.

Base card Bazzill bling

DP Basic Grey Sugared and the pink panel and paper pieceing from Cute Companions CD

Flowers, ribbon and gems from stash.

New baby card

Good morning and happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there. We are off out to lunch to day with the family which will be nice. That's twice in 5 days we been dining out so I think there'll have to be some extra sessions on the Wii Fit.

This little card is one I made for the birth of my cousin's first Grandson William. She has 5 Granddaughters so they are thrilled to have a boy and his Dad is no longer outnumbered by his 2 sisters and 5 neices.

Stamps - Crafters Companion Cute Companions coloured with pearl paints and the edges distressed with faded jeans distress ink. The ribbon and buttons are from stash

I am still here

Thought I'd better pop on and let you know that I am still around. I haven't gone off to the Seychelles or anything like that, unfortuately, just been busy, busy, busy. Today I've been tidying and reorganising the craft room as it was in such a mess. I am a very messy, no I should say untidy crafter but now I've got it sorted I can start all over again, if I can find anything that is.
Well better go and sort out something for dinner, might catch you later.

Just a quick hello

Hi there, sorry I've no creations to post today. I have been busy though and will let you see what I've been up to next week.

Well I've had a great week for bargains and I do love a bargain. Firstly I bought a Kaliko top reduced from £49.99 to £9.99 minus VAT reduction, I shall be wearing it tonight when I go out with my old workmates. no, no they're not that old (just incase they check out this post) they are mates I used to work with. Then yesterday I got some craft stuff half price. 9 bottles of glitter glue for £4.50, some Perfect pearls £8.50 and 3 rubber stamps 49p each. whoo hoo! Today it was clothes again. I got 3 hooded tops £2 each and a gorgeous chiffony type top £8. Poor John got nothing, well I did ask him if he wanted anything and he said no,so I don't feel guilty.

Congratulations to Yvonne for winning Jacqui's mini candy, a WOJ Womens Delight stamp which are released on 14th. If you've not seen them yet check out Jackie or Bevs blog for a sneak preview. They are gorgeous.
Well better go and sort some dinner out for John before I go out with the girls. Don't worry I wont drink too much as I'm driving, shame.
Hugs, Pat xx

Phew!!

Hi all, what an awful day,. Was woken early by my son who was leaving is car at our house while he goes on a boys day out at the races (propably end up pub!). He was running late and it's pouring with rain so being the kind and caring mother that I am (some might say stupid) I gave him a lift to get the minibus. Bleary eyed dishevelled hair, what a sight no not Jonathan that was me!.

Anyway when I got back remembered I hadn't done Wendy's sketch so dashed to the craft room and made this card in 5mins flat. Thank goodness for Stick and Stay (Crafters Companion). Must admit I already had the Sarah Kay image coloured with H2O's so it was just cut and stick. The paper is Papermania and the pearls from stash.

Right I'm relaxing now with a cup of tea contemplating what's next on this merry go round called life. I think I'll forget the ironing, but I must do some food shopping, perhaps do a detour via a craft store, then what? I know a bit of crafting, good idea or what?

Hope you have a good weekend even thought the weathers c*** and thanks for stopping by. Might catch you later.

Hugs, Pat xx

I'm back

You may think from the title that I've been away, but no such luck. I haven't been able to spend much time on the puter due to a Migraine, nothing too severe but enough that I can't take the glare of the screen and my concentration levels have been zero. Still not completely over it but getting there enough to get crafting again. Sound a right windger don't I but I'm not after sympathy just wanted to put you in the picture just incase you missed me aarrhh!

Right back to the plot. The Tuesday Taggers challenge this week is to create a work of art from rubbish you would throw away. If you would like to join in and need some inspiration why not pop over and check out what the DT have come up with. You'll be impressed.

Well here's mine. Before
After

The tag which has a flap back & front was transformed into a little post it note booklet. I wouldn't really call it a "work of art" as requested for the challenge but it's made something fuctional and pretty from something ready for the recycling bin.

I covered the outside with an odd piece of paper printed from the Crafters Companions papercrafts CD and lined the inside with gold mirri board. The stamp is one which was free on a magazine , cut with a nestie and coloured (not too well) with whispers and a gold pen. The ribbons and pearls from stash.

Well that's it for now. I've still got Wendy's challenge and the Colour Create (Don't forget has now changed to Thursday) , I've also got a project to get done but I'll try and get back soon.

Hugs, Pat xx
