Altered Art - Dreams

Hi, hope you've all had a good bank holiday weekend.
I loved last weeks Try it on Tuesday scraplings challenge and will definately be using up more of my offcuts in this way.
Well can you believe it? It's the last day of May already and as it's a Tuesday it's time for another Try it on Tuesday challenge.
It's Altered Art week with the theme of Dreams which was chosen by our very talented Georgina.

I've altered a cheese box and created a dream catcher.

I flattened out the lid and base of the box by cutting into the edges, then cut appertures using nesties and the cuttlebug. I painted the base and lid using Smooch inks. I cut 2 frames for around the appertures again using nesties and the bug.  I cut card the same depth as the box then reassembled the box base sticking it to the card. I then stuck the lid over the base. To attach the cord I made holes around the edge and threaded it through then stuck down with tape and covered the edge with ribbon to hide the fixings. Used wire to attach the feathers and the acetate stamped image of the girl in the moon which I had coloured using glitter.

Well if you fancy a bit of altering but need some inspiration why not pop over to the TioT challenge blog and check out the fantastic ideas the teamies have come up with. They are amazing.
Don't forget the challenge is sponsored by The Craft Barn this week so leave a link in your post if you decide to join us that way you will be entered into the random draw.
Thank you so much for visiting me today and please leave a comment as they really do brighten my day and are so much appreciated.
Happy crafting
Hugs,
Pat xx

Busy busy!!

I've kept myself busy today doing a bit of painting (not the lovely crafty kind-shame) and having a bit of a sort out. That's more stuff in the loft, who needs loft insulation? I've even got the ironing done!! Decided I needed a bit of me time so I've sat myself down with a cuppa and the laptop and here I am.

Thought I would just share a card that I made for a male member of our family who has a birthday today.

The yellow is acetate coloured with cosmic shimmer and glitter on tissue paper and the check is from my bit box.  The clock and key are bronze metal cut using Spellbinder dies. The border is Martha Stuart and the image is cut from a Crafty Individuals miniatures pad.

Hope you all have a good bank holiday weekend, let's hope the weather stays fine.
Bye for now

Two for one!

Hi dear bloggers
Another quick card to share with you today.

If you look at the yesterdays card you will see that I have used the innie and outies from the diecuts for this card.  I have kept the layout very similar to yesterdays. The paper I think is from a free pad on the front of a magazine (can't remember which) and I think it's Pink Petticoat.  The butterfly (Circa Design) was stamped using a pink Brilliance ink pad onto vellum  twice the glittered with stickles.

Thank you for visiting again today.

One for fun.

Two posts in one day, you don't get that from me often.
Today I've been trying to get down my list of jobs to be done.
The new bathroom's finished just needs a few finishing touches but I've been having to try and get the bedrooms, which have been used for storage, back in some order.  Then there was the ironing yuk!
This afternoon planted some potatoes and mowed the lawn. Next backed up the computer files before fitting a new battery to my laptop. I'm now surfing the net like a mad woman trying to test out the life of this new battery. It's gotta be better than the old one which was driving me crazy.
Thought I would share this card with you. I made it for my Mum's birthday and I did add a sentiment after I had taken the photo.

The flower image is from Sheena Douglass's Wouldn' It be Loverly stamp set and I coloured it with Marvey Le Plume pens.

Well the battery seems to be doing OK so I'm off to do a bit of hopping.

Scraplings

It's the Wild Card over at Try it on Tuesday challenge this week and our lovely Carol would like us to make a Scrapling.
If you haven't heard of a Scrapling, well frankly neither had I, its the piece of card left over when making a square card from a piece of A4.  To find out more why not pay Anne a visit she has a great blog and fabulous examples.
Basically it's the scraps left over when making a square card from a piece of A4. They are a great way of using up your card and also any other bits and pieces you have lying around.
I really enjoyed gathering up the bits and pieces for my creation and I will definately be creating many more Scraplings as I've got plenty of scraps to use, well haven't we all!

Everything I've used on the Scrapling is from my bits box. The blue and gold is an odd piece of acetate that has been spritzed with cosmic shimmer sprays (if I remember correctly), and the image has been cut from one stamped onto acetate a while ago and which didn't print too good so I never used it. The DT have some great examples to share with you so please pop over to the TioT challenge blog and check them out. Thank You.

Sorry this post is so late but when I finally decided that I'd better leap into action and create my post I had problems logging into google and couldn't access the blog. Eventually I found what was wrong and it wasn't Mr Bloggers fault this time.  I had used Mozilla Firefox as my browser and when I swapped back to Internet Explorer everything was hunkey dorey. Yay!

Well off to get the washing in now. See you soon.

Just a quickie

Hi everyone out there in blogland. Another dull and dreary day her in the West Midlands yuk! Hope it's better where you are.
Well I was just confirming my comments on the TioT post when I had a design moment. I looked at the card and thought you know if I'd put the ribbon vertically instead of horizontally it would look like the stem of the flower and the bow would look like the leaves. Shame I didn't think of that before.  Note to self for another time. Just had to get that off my chest.
Thanks for all the comments by the way and they are so much appreciated and really brighten my day.
Off to do Mums shopping now then a little trip to the garden centre with her. No not buying plants it's the cafe that's the attraction!!

Hugs,

Something from the 70's.

Please to say I've got my act together this week to complete my creation for the Try it on Tuesday Challenge.
This week the challenge is to create whatever you choose following the theme of Something from the 70's. It could be inspired by music, fashion, toys, well just about anything from the 70's really.
I decided to make a card using a Sarah Kay stamp as I used wrapping paper featuring her designs to create decoupaged decorative tiles back in the 70's.  Yes I really have been decoupaging for over 30 years and if Carol Easton visits (or anyone who knows her) here is the finished one he he!

I stamped the image using black Versamark and coloured  it  with Distress Inks then decoupage it. The papers are from my stash as is the card used to create the nestie shapes.  I cut the flowers layers on the Slice using printed vellum sprayed with glitter. The ribbon and bits and bobs are from my  stash.
We'd love you to join us this week so please pop over to the TioT challenge blog for inspiration. The DT have come up with some great ideas again this week.
I've decided to include this card in the Colour Create challenge - Aqua, Green, Purple and White.

Thanks for stopping by I really do appreciate it.

New Beginnings.

Well things have been changing somewhat for me this week and I've decided to step down as DT member for Crafters Companion. So I decided to make this a new beginning and what better way than to make a start by getting a new look blog.  So please bear with me while I attempt to create something new. I'm not too good at the techie stuff so  I'm sure it will get worse before it gets better. Just hope I don't vanish altogether
I've just noticed that my last post has disappeared but I think that's down to Mr Blogger nothing to do with design attempts. Oh it's back.

Thanks for visiting.

Sorry!

Well it's Wednesday I know and no sign of the Try it on Tuesday challenge post, please accept my apologies.
Sorry I don't have a tag to share with you as I've had a bad crafting week but I wont bore you with the details.
Anyway enough of that my fellow teamies have been very productive and have created some fab TAGS following the theme of One for the Boys so if you would like to join us for the challenge or check out the DT creations please do pay a visit to the TioT blog.
I'm going to try my very best to be back in action next week even though I've got the plumber coming tomorrow to give the upstairs bathroom a makeover.  I'll probably have to bring some crafty stash downstairs because I doubt I'll be able to access the craft room very easily while the works going on. I'll be so glad when it's finished because I hate all the mess that goes with it.
Thanks for stopping by,
Pat xx

Something old, Something new.

Hope you all had a good Bank Holiday Monday and enjoyed the lovely sunshine.

It's time for another challenge on Try it on Tuesday.
This week we'd like you to create a card following the theme of Something Old, Something New.

For the Old I've used this gorgeous Apple Tree stamp by Circa Design which I've had for  years. I used Distress inks for the colouring ,Pineneedle, Vintage photo, Spun Sugar, Fired Brick.

For the New I've used the gorgeous Crackle background stamp by Crafty Individuals embossed using gold fine WOW embossing powder and Spun Sugar DI. I bought this stamp at the NEC in March and this is the first time I've used it.
The green backing paper was made by using Pineneedle DI around the edges of some plain white card.

This week the challenge is sponsored by One Stop Card Crafts so is you decide to enter don't forget to give them a mention and link them in your post.
My fellow teamies have some up with some fantastic designs to inspire you so please pop over to the challenge blog to check them out.
Looking forward to checking out your designs.

I'm entering this card into the Divas by Design challenge which is anything goes.
