Alter it!

It's time for another challenge with Try it on Tuesday and this week we'd like you to alter something. This week the challenge is sponsored by our good friends at the Craft Barn so if you do join the challenge don't forget to put a link to them in your post to be in with a chance of winning their £15 voucher.
I decided to alter a CD case.

and turn it into a post it note case.
I used the lacey circle nestie to cut the panels for the front, back and inside. The lovely glittery paper is DCWV Glitter stock
The centre flower is a stamp by Hero Arts and I coloured it with copics and glazed it with crystal laquer.
I made my own post its by cutting out circles of white paper using a nestie and then spraying a small top section with Stick & Spray.
The rest of the DT have excelled themselves so please pop over to the TioT challenge blog to check out the creations .
Thank you  for stopping by today and if you'd like to leave a comment that would be wonderful.
Have a good day

Hang it up.

For the Try it on Tuesday challenge this week we have been creating wall hangings. I decided to take inspiration from a lovely metal  plaque that I bought a couple of weeks ago.

I used a combination of digital crafting and stamping to create this piece. I used Craft Artist to print the centre panel and the wording. I then used my metal plaque as a template to cut out the shape.  I  used DI to colour the background and around the edges then used Crafty Individuals swirl stamps.
The rest of the DT have created some master pieces so please do go and check them out and then  hopefully  join us for the challenge this week.
Well that's about it from me for today as I have a lot of behind the scenes crafting to do.
Have a good day

Anything goes.

As the title says Anything Goes for the Try it on Tuesday challenge this week.
So folks if you decide to join us for the challenge this week you can create whatever you like with whatever technique and style you like.

I decided to stick with a card because there was a stamp I really wanted to get inked up.

The image is a stamp by Stampotique and called Prom Queen.  I bought it with the intention of making a card for my Granddaughter's prom (moving from primary to high school), but never got around to it at the time. So I've given it to her now, well better late than never.
I just adore these gorgeous images and their quirky style. I coloured it using copics (not that it took much colouring). I cut the card shape using the Grand Calibre and Grand Scalloped Nestie. The lace down the edge was white but I coloured it purple using my copics.

My fellow teamies have some fantastic projects to share with you if you'd like to pop over to the TioT challenge blog.
Thanks for visiting today

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.  We had a lovely day out yesterday. Started off with a visit to our local vineyard, the one with the nice restaurant and craft shop, to pick up some ribbon I had ordered for the wedding invitations. After a lovely cuppa and toasted teacake we decided to carry on to Kidderminster for a bit of shopping.  I hadn't visited there for shopping for quite a while so it made a lovely change. There are some lovely shops there and a great market. Most importantly it was very easy for John to get  around in his wheelchair.

Here is a little card I made for our nieces Wedding Anniversary which was yesterday.

A cute Penny Black Hedgie, I love 'em!

Well better go and sort out lunch, roast beef  today, yum, yum!

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Hugs,

Tag - Trees

Hi there folks.
Today I am trying to catch up on some of the dreaded HW and get my life into some kind of order, whatever that is!  I managed to break the back of the ironing yesterday and as always have vowed to keep on top of it in future, oh yeah!

Now on to more important things
The Try it on Tuesday challenge this week is to create a TAG with the theme, chosen by moi, TREES
I decided to use the Naked Tree stamp by Barbara Gray.

I cut the white tag using the Spellbinders die that I bought at Jayne Nestorenko's workshop and I coloured it using DI, stormy sky and bundled sage.  I stamped the naked tree using Archival ink pad and added the leaves, also Barbara Gray stamp, using the bundled sage DI.  The green background card is some I had in my bit box and I think, if my memory serves me correct, that it was printed from a SWALK CD onto snow white pearl card. The brown card is a bit of leftover packaging and the lace and ribbon are from my stash.
If you pay a visit to the TioT challenge blog you'll see that the DT have created some great tags to inspire you so that you'll want to join us for the challenge this week.
Thanks for stopping by day.
Hugs

A request for help from Michelle

Hi Peeps, I'm hoping that you will be able to help my friend Michelle with her battle with Social Services. Please read what Michelle has to tell us and I'm sure you will decide to help her out with this totally unsatisfactory situation. Thank you.
AN IMPORTANT REQUEST FOR HELP!  This is a photo of my lovely son Liam on his wedding day. Doesn't he look proud?  Unfortunately his dream of living happily with his wife has been shattered because Social Services have not done their job properly. Because they both have Down's Syndrome, Social Services should have carried out reviews when he got engaged in November 2009 then again when they got married in Sept 2010. It is now almost a year since Liam and Fizz got married and the review still has not been carried out. This means that Liam only has care workers helping him 3 days a week.  The rest of the week he has no one to support him.

He has recently bought chicken and left it on the side for two days because his fridge was full, then under cooked it ready to eat and more seriously has been hospitalized needing emergency surgery because he and his wife didn't recognize the dangers of leaving three abscess untreated. He got septicemia and needed IV antibiotics!

Social Services now say that the only way to ensure his safety is to remove him from his wife and his home because the recent review they carried out indicated he should be able to manage with less support than he currently has.

Can you imagine what his happy face will look like if this is allowed to continue.

It would make Liam So HAPPY if you would HELP!

How?

Put this post as your blog or facebook status for as long as you can asking all your friends to help, and spare a few minutes of your time sending an email to the Director of Adult Services who is responsible for Liam's Heartache.

Make the subject - Liam Adams
and leave a brief note - maybe 'This situation is unacceptable'.  The objective is just to have him inundated with email about this so he recognises that it needs immediate action and cannot wait until they carry out yet another review!

His email address is  Derek.Law@northyorks.gov.uk. you could also copy in his boss Richard.Flinton@northyorks.gov.uk.

Cummon Guys, lets see if we can make this go global!

Thanks so Much
x Michelle

Oh I do love to be beside the seaside!

It's Tuesday so time for another challenge with Try it on Tuesday
It's CARD week with the theme of the BEACH. One Stop Card Crafts are sponsoring the challenge again this week so to be eligible for the random draw for the £10 voucher don't forget to link them in your post.
I decided to use Jayne's Adorables again this time the Seaside stamp plate.

The sand is sandpaper and as you can sea I used some fibres to represent the sea.
Hope you'll stop by the TioT challenge blog to check out the fabulous DT creations and then decide to join us for the challenge this week.
Thank you for visiting today.

Roses grow on you!

Well I must say it's looking a bit dismal outside at the moment, looks like a storm could be brewing. Hopefully if it does rain it will put an end to this very oppressive atmosphere.

I had a lovely day yesterday at Jayne's workshop. It was great to meet up with friends old and new for a fantastic crafting day. Here is the gorgeous project that we created.

It's a gorgeous box/easel card containing some gorgeous little tags.  We used Jayne's latest collection of adorables and the background is from the accompanying CD.  I intend to add some ribbon around the border and maybe some embellies around the sentiment.
Jayne is on Create  and Craft tomorrow and you'll see some more variations of this lovely box plus some more fabulous demos from the lovely lady.
I made a box as a gift for Jayne.

I used the Adorable stamps and thought the Roses chocolates would be appropriate for the garden themed images.

Here is the tutorial for this style box

To begin score two sheets of A4 card on the box maker of the Ultimate Pro. For the base use the 4th line from the edge and for the lid score along the 4th and 2nd lines.

Then place lid, with the short side to the handle edge, onto the card scoring side of the board and make a small mark top and bottom at the A5 line to find the centre.

Line up the A5 centre marking to the 5” square fold line on the Ultimate and score along A5 half fold & A4 half fold lines.   Cut in along these lines up to the inner horizontal score lines then fold the rest of the line to form the hinge.

Cut along the outer score line on all 4 sides in order to create shallow sides to the lid

Make up the box base and lid as normal cutting away a triangle at each corner and glue.

Taking the 3rd piece of card cut it the same width as the centre section of the lid and whatever length you want the handle to be  then decorate  Glue the handle to the centre side sections of the lid and then glue to the centre side sections of the box base.

Now decorate with whatever takes our fancy and fill with lovely chocies or whatever gift you would like to give.

It's a very easy box to make so do give it a go.

Well that's it from me tonight, I'll be back in the morning with the Try it on Tuesday challenge.
