A very good and fruitful week

Hope everyones Christmas plans are coming together nicely. I finally got around to sorting most of the presents this week after a trip into Birmingham with my daughter. We had a lovely day out even though both of us were feeling a bit under the weather. I still have a number of Christmas cards to get done but I'm hoping to get them finished this weekend.
I have had a pretty good week all in all actually. Last Saturday went to the Free Radio Live gig at the LG arena and saw Ollie Murs, Ed Sheeran and many more. Then the trip to Birmingham and a night out with my best friends last night. To round it off I am going to a Christmas concert this evening to see my daughter in law playing violin in the orchestra.
Right then enough of my hectic social life lol!
Here are a couple of cards I made last month and a canvas I decorated just for fun

This first card I made for our nephew using Clarity Hot air balloon stamp and clouds stencil

This second one I made for my B.I.L.'s 80th birthday
The clock and buttons were cut using spellbinders die and everything else came from my stash.

I painted the stencil with acrylic paint, over stamped with texture stamps and edged it with some brass embossing powder
The large flower was created using a rubber stamp and the smaller ones are from the Craftwork Cards Vogue collection. The butterfly was diecut using a spellbinders die as were the flourishes and corners.

Well that's about it from me today except to say I am feeling rather relieved now this morning as I managed to book 1D tickets for Jessica. I hate booking tickets as it is so stressful!!

Have a good weekend

Blue sky and sunshine!

Hello dear friends, hope everyone is enjoying the lovely sunshine today and making the most of the bank holiday.
I'm of to Cheltenham for the Jazz festival on Monday with my lovely daughter Justine. We will be seeing Curtis Stigers who is  Justine's equivalent to Jessica's One Direction. Actually I think Justine is more obsessed than Jessica. We will be meeting up with some other Stigers fans, Jan and Eileen for the first time so it's going to be fun all the way. I'm really looking forward to the break as it hasn't been the best of weeks with John having a few more health issues to deal with poor love.
Anyway it was John's birthday last month so I thought I would share the card I made for him with you. It's the lovely Clarity Stamps Hot Air Balloon and cloud stencil. I love blue/brown colour combination so was more than happy with how it turned out.

A moment of Clarity

Here are three cards I've designed since I was last here.
For this first one I used Distress inks and stencils for the background and edged the swirls with a black micron pen. The stamp is by Clarity Stamps and coloured with DI's

For the second one I used the Clarity stamps balloons on a background created using the Clarity cloud stencil and Distress Ink. I stamped the large balloon directly onto the background then stamped and cut another layer to give a rounded 3 dimensional look .I added stickles to the swirls on the balloon but it doesn't show on the photo.

More Clarity stamps used on this next one. Used the Letterbox set for the banner and the ferns and bunnies (well hares really) from another set.

Well that's about it from me today. Hope to see you again  soon.

A selection

Here are a selection of cards that I have created since I was last here

For this double fold card I used Clarity Stamp's Toadstool & Elf coloured with copics.

For this next one I used a Tilda paperkit that I picked up in TK Max at a bargain £1.99
I don't usually do kits but have enjoyed using some lately for a quick craft fix.

Another using the Tilda kit

I used the Indigo Blu Clematis stamp on a Distress ink and stencil background

This last one is using my very favourite JOFY stamps coloured with copics with a distress inked background

A combination of the Clarity and JOFY stamps coloured with copics on a DI background

I have been keeping off the computer lately due to headaches hence the lack of blogging.
So thank you for stopping by my rather neglected blog.

Peace and Tranquility

Hi there dear friends.
Well I had a lovely birthday weekend. Lots of lovely cards and presents and a lovely meal out courtesy of my wonderful son and his fiance. I must say food, cakes and chocolate have featured heavily since Friday. Jessica made us some yummy banana muffins on Friday which really got the food fest started. Thanks Jessica.
Now onto this weeks challenge at Try it on Tuesday. It's Tag week and the theme, as my title says, is Peace and Tranquility. There's not been much of that  going on around here lately.
Here's my tag.

The image is a Clarity stamp on a brayered background using Mountain Meadow Big and Juicy. I inked the image and then ran the brayer over it and onto the card to get the reflection, then stamped the main image direct to the card. The outer part of the tag was also coloured using Mountain Meadow but applied with a sponge. The fern sprays are a Laura Ashley stamp. I don't think I need to say the tag was cut using Nestabilities.
Please check out the challenge blog as there is plenty of inspiration from the fantastic Design Team and we would be really chuffed if you's join us for the challenge this week.
Well that's about it from me today. We are off to The Heart of the Shires today (between Rugby and Northampton) for a bit of "Nice" shopping and some lunch. There goes the diet again!!
Thanks for visiting
Hugs

New Beginnings

Today is the first challenge of 2011 for the Tuesday Taggers team, but we decided to to start the New Year with some changes. So the challenge is renamed as Try it on Tuesday Challenge and the blog has been revamped. Do please stop by to check it out and find out just  what we are going to be getting up to in 2011.
The theme for the  first challenge is "New Beginnings" and we would like you to include anything new on a card. Maybe new baby, new home, new job etc.
I decided to go with new day dawning.  Well I needed to try out my brayering techniques again and boy do I need some practice. I'm certainly no Barbara Gray!! Anyway I've had fun getting a bit messy and that's what our challenge is all about, trying new things and having fun.

The stamps are all Clarity, the cottage and naked tree stamped using Adirondack Earthtones Espresso and the cottage was coloured wth copics. The foliage was stamped using the Big and Juicy Mountain Meadow pad, which was also used to brayer the sky.  The hills were brayered using the Big and Juicy Waterfall pad.
So now it's over to you, we would love to see your take on this new challenge if you'd like to join in with the fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
