Trio of cards

Today I have three cards to share, two of which were designed using Serif Craft Artist Professional 2

The first card was made for our Grandsons Christening a couple of weeks ago.

This next one was made on CAP2 for my BIL's special birthday using "All about him" digi kit.

Finally the card I made for my Aunt in Australia's 90 the birthday.

Hope to be back soon with a few more makes using Visible Image stamps

September? What happened to July & August

Well what can I say but hello I'm still here.
Been far too much going on in our lives the past couple of months but I have decided to try and get back into blogging.
So without further ado here are some cards I've created in my absence.

This Gorjuss Girl card is one I made for our nieces young daughter Emily. I coloured the image using Copics and used Crealies patchwork and Sue Wilson dies.

This one is for Emily's twin brother Thomas. I have used Visible Image Stand Out stamp set on a background created using brusho's through a stencil with a touch of stickles.

This final one is another Visible Image stamp onto a background created by taking the brusho's off the stencil used for the Stand Out card. Two for the price of one.

Hoping to get back soon.

New family member

There's been a lot going on since I was last here.
My hubby John was admitted to ITU and spent 2 weeks in hospital
I put my back out.
However we had some special news on 3rd June our beautiful grandson Samuel James was born.
Here he is looking peaceful and content.

So here is the card I made using the Crealies patchwork die, LOTV stamps and the papers are from one of Jayne Nestorenko's CD's

This next card was made for my Grandson Elliot's 13th birthday on 13th using Visible Image stamps and Brushos

My friend and fellow Cliff fan Michelle was 50 yesterday so this next one is a box card I made for her. The flowers were stamped and cut from some card I had coloured using brushos sprayed with Glimmer Mist instead of water to give a lovely shimmery effect.

Under the sea

This is an art journal page I created. I am never sure where  I am going when I start, just let the piece evolve. Well this page appears to have an taken an underwater theme. The background base is acrylic paints and I have used various stamps and a sweet poppy stencil dragon using it as a seahorse.

It was a friend of mine's 70th birthday last week and because I know she loves flowers I decided to make her a box of flowers card. Well I only need half an excuse to make these box cards as I love them.

Hope you have been able to enjoy the sunshine this week I certainly have. Long may it continue.

Lost Mojo

Two cards to share today as I haven't been very productive lately.
The first one I made one day when I wanted to do a bit of crafting but couldn't get inspired. Anyway I pressed on using a piece of paper I had made some time ago using spray inks and some flowers made using Dreamees stamps.

This next card I made for my husbands's birthday using Visible image stamps and Distress Inks for the background. Quite simple to create but quite effective I think.

Really must try and get my mojo back.

What a month

Well it's been a month since I was last here and what a month it has been.
A round of Doctor and Hospital visits and stays for hubby, plus various incidents to cause us a load of grief.
Hoping that things will get better very soon as there is only so much stress you can cope with.

On a brighter note I am going to share some projects I have managed to create.

This first card I made for a very dear friend's birthday later in the month. She doesn't blog so this isn't going to spoil the surprise.  I used Sweet Poppy stencil with texture paste and mica powder heated to create the bubble effect.

For this next one I created the background with Distress Inks and stencil. The main image is a Visible Image stamp which came free with Craft Stamper magazine.

For this one I used paper from my stash and the little image is Clarity and the circles Bee Crafty. Blue and brown is one of my favourite colour combos.

Hopefully things will have taken a turn for the better when I return.

Beautiful things

Spent the day crafting today for a bit of much needed relaxation after a very stressful week. My husband John has been quite poorly this week and we have spent two days in A&E although I wont go into that except to say it was a nightmare.

So here's what I have been up to.
This first panel I created as my Facebook Header using a sentiment stamp I got from Bee Crafty. Well actually all the stamps are from Bee Crafty.

This next one is using Visible Image stamps and freehand notes around the edge.

Now the final one is an Indigo Blu stamp with the colouring and background done with DI and a bit of watercolour ghosting.

I'm hoping that the coming week will be less eventful, fingers crossed

Feel the Beat

I'm back to share a few makes from the last couple of weeks.
It was my Son and DIL's birthdays on 24th so the first two are cards I made for them.
The first one I made for Jonathan using a Visible Image stamp on a background created with distress inks and circles by Rubberdance.

This next one is Liz's birthday card. I was trying out a technique I had seen on YouTube by Rachel Black, gesso resist.  I love Rachel's videos, she is so talented.

This is my practice piece

Finally the card I have made for Mother's Day. No need to worry Mom's not computer savvy, well she is 92! Spellbinders cut out panel onto glitter card. Clarity letterbox, stamped flowers and stickles.

Well thanks for visiting

Stamping fun

Just one card to share today.
After watching a few YouTube videos this afternoon I felt the crafting urge and decided to use this lovely girl by Stampotique. The fishnet is a stamp by Visible Image, who by the way are on Create and Craft tomorrow with their new designs. The circles are from a set of stamps by Rubberdance.
I used Distress Inks, Picked Raspberry, Peacock feathers, squeeze lemonade and peeled paint.
I love taking a  stamp and just going with thee flow, especially with these quirky stamps

I always think of my lovely Granddaughter when I use this stamp because she is very much her own person and has gorgeous big eyes.

Hope to be back soon

Watering Can workshop

Here is a pretty watering can I made today
at Sunrise Crafts in Wombourne.
Sue Jennings took the workshop today and we had a lovely time as we always do at Sunrise. Unfortunately Bhanu our host was not able to join us as she is recovering at home after having an operation.

We used a variety of squares and rectangles cut from pretty papers and used them to cover the card shape, edging all the pieces with distress ink. We added a touch of gold embossing powder here and there around the edges.  We then added the finishing touches with die cut leaves and flowers.

We were all really pleased with the results and they would make lovely gifts.

Kind regards

A trio

Here are three creations from this week.
The first is modelling medium, cosmic shimmer mica powders with a touch of stickles through the gorgeous  Sweet Poppy stencil. Used a micron pen for the border and coloured it using the same micas. I haven't made it up as a card yet.

For this next one I used brushos through a Sweet Poppy stencil then added definition with a black micron pen.

The final one is a stamp board I created after getting inspired by the talented Eileen Godwin's YouTube video

Well that's it for today
Thank's for visiting

Good and bad news

Well 2016 has started out with bad news for us as we have lost two dear friends. John and I met through a love of football in 1968. He supported West Ham and lived in London and I supported Wolves and lived in Walsall. Sadly his best mate and fellow West Ham supporter who was responsible for our getting together passed away just after New Year. Then on Monday we heard that an ex work colleague of mine and Mother of our next door neighbour had passed away too.  Two lovely people who will be deeply missed.

On a brighter note here is an art journal page that I created over the weekend.  I am never too sure where I am going when I start out but gradually things come together and I am very happy with the end result. That's what I love that you can lose yourself in the project.  I am still learning but enjoying the journey.

I am compiling this post using my new laptop. This is a replacement for one I bought on New Years day which was faulty. So fingers crossed that this one is ok. So far so good.

Here's hoping that the bad news is all out of the way. Well we do have something to look forward to in June a new addition to our family for my son and his lovely wife. Excited muchly!

New Year 2016!

Here's wishing everyone a very Happy and  Healthy New Year
I'm hoping it gets off to a better start for us this year. Anyway we have something very special to look forward to in June so 2016 will definately be one to remember.

It was our Wedding Anniversary on 27th December, 46years. OMG where have the years gone? This is the card I made for John.
I freehand cut some hearts from paper coloured using brushos and
added some detail with a black micron pen. Coloured some pearls using copics. I really love this card.

This next card was created using Visible Image stamps and brushos for the colour burst. As you can tell I am having fun using my brushos at the moment, love 'em!

This is my last post using this laptop, new one being set up. Just hoping I can get my head around it.
Bye for now
