Sunday 30 October 2011

Good morning, hope those of you in the UK enjoyed your extra hour in bed. Not looking forward to this evening though, I hate the long dark evenings.

Thought I would share a couple of cards with you that I made for my daughter Justine. It was her Wedding Anniversary last Monday and her 40th birthday (OMG I feel old!) on Wednesday.

I love this cute image that I downloaded from Squigglefly. I coloured it using copics and the backing paper is from  DCWV  Glitter pad. The sentiment is also from Sqigglefly.

The lovely birdcage image is a stamp from Stella and Rose, Mabel "So Sweet" stamps by My Minds Eye. The paper is Bobunny Gabrielle Collection and it's yummy.

We are off out for a lovely family celebration meal this lunch time at The Mill in Alveley. There goes that diet again! Perhaps I'll start tomorrow : /

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Hugs

Being very sociable!

Just a quick post to say that although I haven't contributed this week (far too much socialising!) the Dt over at Try it on Tuesday have some fantastic creations to share with you for the challenge this week. It's Altered Art week and the theme is fabric. So please do check them out and if you'd like to join the challenge this week that would be great.
Sorry it's quick but I'm off down the the Vineyards again. You might think that I am an alcoholic from the number of times I'm down there but you'd be wrong it's the lovely craft shops and tea rooms that are the attraction. There I go socialising again and it's not doing the diet, some would say what diet, any good.

Bye for now

Take to the Sky

Well I had another lovely crafting weekend thanks to my lovely friend Jayne Nestorenko. We did some fabulous projects, ate some lovely grub and shared the company of some really lovely ladies, oh sorry Paul & Paul, and some lovely gents.
Well onto this weeks challenge at Try it on Tuesday. This week anything goes so you can choose to create anything that takes your fancy as long as you follow the theme of Take to the Sky.  I decided on a card this time and here it is.

I used a stamp from the Crafters Companion Love collection as a balloon and coloured it with Whisper pens. The background was created using a blending brush and a Big & Juicy pad.  I used the out of the box technique to cut out the nestie shape around the balloon. I like this technique, it's quite simple but very effective.
As always the DT had some great ideas this week so please do pop over and check them out.
Hope you have a good day and thank you for stopping by.
Hugs,

Peace and Tranquility

Hi there dear friends.
Well I had a lovely birthday weekend. Lots of lovely cards and presents and a lovely meal out courtesy of my wonderful son and his fiance. I must say food, cakes and chocolate have featured heavily since Friday. Jessica made us some yummy banana muffins on Friday which really got the food fest started. Thanks Jessica.
Now onto this weeks challenge at Try it on Tuesday. It's Tag week and the theme, as my title says, is Peace and Tranquility. There's not been much of that  going on around here lately.
Here's my tag.

The image is a Clarity stamp on a brayered background using Mountain Meadow Big and Juicy. I inked the image and then ran the brayer over it and onto the card to get the reflection, then stamped the main image direct to the card. The outer part of the tag was also coloured using Mountain Meadow but applied with a sponge. The fern sprays are a Laura Ashley stamp. I don't think I need to say the tag was cut using Nestabilities.
Please check out the challenge blog as there is plenty of inspiration from the fantastic Design Team and we would be really chuffed if you's join us for the challenge this week.
Well that's about it from me today. We are off to The Heart of the Shires today (between Rugby and Northampton) for a bit of "Nice" shopping and some lunch. There goes the diet again!!
Thanks for visiting

Keep it Minimal - Card

It's time for another Try it on Tuesday challenge and the theme this week is to go minimal and create a card. This week we are lucky to be sponsored by One Stop Card Crafts. I know it can be more challenging sometimes to take the less is more approach but I do like the look when you get it right, and I hope I have.

So not much to explain with this one. The stamp is one I picked up on the cheap and  I love it. I added a touch of colour with my water colour pencils. Simples as they say.
The DT have come up with some great inspiration so please do go and check them out.
We are having a day out today with our daughter. Not sure where yet but I'm sure we'll have a good day.
As always thank you for your kind comments which I look forward to reading and for visiting me today.
Bye for now,

Sunday 2 October 2011

Sunday, Sunday.

Good morning one and all.  Hope you are enjoying the weekend and all the lovely sunshine. I've had a good morning. Got the lawn cut and prepped lunch before taking time out to watch the super talented Barbara Gray on C & C (I did do the ironing while watching!)  I'm off to pick up Mum in a mo for our usual Sunday lunch together. Then another dose of the lovely Barbara this afternoon. Before I go I'll just share a little card with you that I rustled up yesterday afternoon using a Lily of the Valley image which I coloured with copics.

The papers are from A Wild Rose pad and the swirl is a Spellbinders die. The doily and flower were cut with a Marianne die.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges
Lily of the Valley challenge which has the theme "Button it".
Simon Says - Anything Goes

Enjoy what's left of the weekend and thank you for stopping by.
