Jolly Old St Nick - Tuesday Taggers challenge

Hi there everyone, hope you are having a good day. Sorry I am late posting this but it's nearly Christmas, as if you didn't know, and I really wanted to get the shopping done and dusted today and yippee! I did. Well I might find myself wandering into a few more shops and coming out with bags heavier than I went in with but that's the fun of Christmas. We had the grandchildren stay over last night so no time to get on t'internet last night.
Anyway enough of my wittering on. The challenge over at Tuesday Taggers this week is to create just what you'd like as long as Jolly Old St Nick features somewhere.
Here's my bookmark. I used Grunge Paper to create this and coloured it using Cosmic shimmers mixed with Chrystal Laquer . Unfortunately the photo doesn't do the effect justice, it really does shimmer as the name says. I stamped the images using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer black sparkle embossing powder. I went around the edges with a silver Pen Touch pen although it doesn't show up on the pic.

Hope you'll pop over to the TT blog and take a look at the DT 's fabulous creations and then join in the fun with us. We'd love to see your take on the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and do come back soon.

Tuesday Taggers challenge and digi image winner.

Hi there, well I do hope you all enjoyed the hop and thanks for taking part in the fun. The winner chosen at random of the poinsettia image is Artyjen. If you email me you email address I'll send you the jpeg. Congratulations and good luck for the main draw.

Well today the TT challenge is The Christmas Tree and here is my creation.

I decided to get out the parchmentcraft stuff for this one. The pattern is one of Christine Colemans. I really find this craft so relaxing but unfortunately as I've always got so much on the go I don't seem to be doing as much as I would like. Perhaps in the new year!

Please pop over to the TT blog and check out the fabulous creations that my fellow DT's have come up with and join in with the challenge this week. We'd love it if you did.

Thanks for visiting

Tuesday Taggers are hopping mad!!!!

Hi there and thanks for hopping over here today. We thought we’d spring into the Christmas party season by doing a blog hop today. We’ve got some great prizes up for grabs kindly donated by Jill from the Stamp Man and Tracey from Stamp Design
To be in with a chance of winning all you need to do is hop from blog to blog, leave a comment on each & collect letters on the way which will make up a word or phrase. When you’ve collected all the letters you will arrive at the TT blog where you should leave a comment and email your answer. The lucky winner will be chosen at random and the winner announced on Tuesday.

You should have hopped here from Michelle’s blog but if not just hop back to Michelle and follow the links. At each blog when you leave a comment you'll also be in with a chance of winning the digital image that has kindly been donated by our very talented DT member Teri. Teri has a shop where you can find all of her fabulous designs.

The image you can win here is a gorgeous poinsettia which I think is a very useful and versatile image to use. I’ve chosen to decoupage mine onto an easel card and here it is. Leave me a comment and I’ll choose a winner at random at the end of the hop. Good luck everyone!

Tuesday Taggers - Festival of light

Well our theme for the Tuesday Taggers challenge this week is Festival of light.

This weeks challenge is more about blowing out than blowing away. Everyone is so fucussed on Christmas here in blogland that we thought we'd have a look at what people in other countries do at this time of year and it's been wonderful to discover how many Light Festivals take place in so many cultures all over the world. The Christian faith has many forms of light festival in different cultures all based around Advent, but there is also the Jewish festival of Hannuka, the Hindu Diwali, Loi Krathong in Thailand, to name but a very few and most take place around this time of year.

If you would like some inspiration the DT have come up with some fabulous creations so please pop over and check them out. We would love you to join in the challenge this week and look forward to checking out your creations.

Well here is mine.

I used a Cute Companions stamp from last years Christmas collection which I stamped onto tissue paper and heat set onto the candle. The box is one that I "doctored" with some card from my stash. Unfortunately the acetate is causing a reflection in the picture.
Well look forward to seeing your take on this challenge so please join in with us this week. Love, Pat xx

Back again

Firstly apologies for not getting back on here yesterday as I'd said but better late than never.
Well this first pic is the fantastic Jayne Nestorenko and my good frined Dot Crackles, don't you just love that name? This pic was taken in Jayne's workshop too and left to right my friends are the award winning Carol, Jacqui, Tina and Maggie.

Here we all are having dinner before all the frivolity of the evenings entertainment. You might spot Kay who demonstrates for Sakura and also the teller of the dirty jokes.

Thanks for visiting and I'll see you soon.

Back from the Craftaganza!

Morning everyone out there in blogland and i hope you've all had a good weekend so far.
Well I've had an absolutely wonderful few days up in Gordie land with my fabulous friends and DT's from Crafters Companion. Wow what a super super time we had, I just can't tell you how much I enjoyed myself. Not just from a crafting point of view but the whole social interaction. So if any of my good friends are visiting me I would just like to say how much I enjoyed everyone's company and I hope to see everyone next year.
Now then I know how much all you bloggers love the brilliant Jacqui (Cats Whiskers) and admire her fabulous work. I thought you might like to see another side of her,so here she is with my other great friend and fellow DT Tina. Cheers!!!!!

I've got to dash now to catch up with things like washing and cooking but I may be back later with a couple of more pictures and Jayne Nestorenko and Noreen if you should happen to pop on here just remember what I have on Video!!!

See you later

Tuesday Taggers - Red, Green & Gold.

Hi all, well it Tuesday and time for our Tuesday Taggers challenge. This week you are required to use the colours red, green & gold. Your creation doesn't have to be Christmas themed, it's entirely up to you. Please pop over to the TT challenge blog and check out the DT's fanatastic creations. I'm sure you will find some inspiration and decide to join us this week.

Here is my creation and as you can see it does have a Christmassy feel to it. I made this double sided decoration using the Elusive Pontsettia stamp that I bought a few years ago after seeing Jayne Nestorenko demonstrating it on C&C. It's the same technique as using medallion stamps, cutting, layering and of course glittering that I love.

Do hope you decide to join us this week as we'd love to see what you come up with. We've had some fabulous entries over the past few weeks, so keep it up people we do appreciate it.

Whiff of Joy challenge - Brown, Orange & Ivory

Afternoon all, hope you are having a good day. I decided to join the WOJ challenge this week and use one of the stamps I bought at the NEC last week. Wasn't too sure about the colours and to be honest I'm still not sure now that I've done it. Anyway it's done so here it is.
The paper I came across in my drawer. Coloured the gorgeous image with copics and framed it using the new frameability classic frame which I also bought at the NEC last week. I distressed the embossing and edges with brushed corduroy distress ink. The flowers, ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

Well there you go and you might like to check out the wonderful DT creations 'cause they are awesome and well worth a look.

I'm in a very strange mood today, just don't know what's the matter with me, 'praps I've got that SAD syndrome as we've got no sunshine or maybe I'm just plain down in the dumps. Let's hope it soon passes and I'm full of beans again tomorrow.

Take care all, Love, Pat xx

Colour Create - blue silver and white

Hi afternoon all and what a dismal day it's been here. Bad enough getting dark early without dark dismal days. Enough of my complaining and back to the matter in hand. I made a couple of cards over the weekend using a stamp I got from the NEC then realised that they fit the Colour Create challenge very nicely. So here they are.............
The stamp I got from the Sir Stamp a lot stand and used the marvey le plume pens that I also got from them to stamp it then glittered using a glaze pen and chrystal glitter (just like the lovely lady showed me). I used my nestie labels and MS doiley punch, greeting by Craftwork cards, ribbon & charm from my stash.

Same stamping procedure for this one which I layered onto blue card then onto silver mirri that I had put through the swiss dots folder on the cuttlebug. The paper is from a pad I picked up cheap a while ago. The greeting again is a Craftwork card's applied to a spellbinders tag.

I think this little stamp could be the answer to my Chrismas card problem (Lack of them). It is so easy to use and makes a quick yet classy card. Hope you agree. Please let me know what you think.

Catch you soon.

This week we would like you to produce a creation of your choice without using patterned papers. Pop over to the TT blog and check out all the fabulous DT creations and then join in the fun.

I created the main panel on the card with distress inks, stamped with versamark and perfect pearls brushed over. Bottom panel cuttlebuged. The sentiment s Craftwork Cards and the ribbon and jewelled brad from my stash.

We would really love to see your interpretation of this challenge so please play along with us this week.

Create4Fun challenge

Hi, decided to play along with the Create4Fun challenge this week and the sketch has been created by the very talented Bev. The prize on offer this week is a set of Nesties so it's well worth joining in.
I used some DP from my stash and the image is another sugar nellie (Christmas Wishes) that I got from Lora crafts. I coloured the image with copics but unfortunately the dress looks a bit washed out. Not having much luck with the pics at the minute, must invest in a daylight lamp.
Sentiment Craftwork Cards, ribbon flowers and pearls are from my stash
.

Thanks for stopping by and if you'd like to leave me a comment that would be very nice and I'll come and visit you.

Tuesday Taggers challenge- handbags & gladrags

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good day. I'm a bit late with this post, should really have scheduled it but I'm here now.
Well this week on Tuesday Taggers we are getting ready for the party season and so the challenge this week is handbags & gladrags. As always it's entirely up to you what you create so let your juices flow and pop over and join us, we'd really love to see your creations. My fellow DT members have come up with some cracking creations so please pop over and check them out.
I've used a digital download from
Squigglefly which I've coloured with copics and added stickles to the jewellery. The papers I created using the image in Master Card Builder. The sentiment is computer generated and the handbag and flowers are from stash. Sorry the picture is not goo but when I took it the light wasn't too good.

That's all from me at the moment but I may be back later with an other card I've created. Hope to see you then.

Colour Create challenge - white

Hi there, well this week the Colour Create challenge requires you to only use white except for the main image. Very challenging but the DT have come up with some outstanding examples to inspire us all.
The image I've used for my card is Winter Wonderland by Sugar Nellie. I got this stamp this morning from Lyndsey Marie's new shop
"Lora Crafts" which is very near to where I live. So pleased that Lyndsey has been chosen to stock these fabulous stamps, well done Lyndsey.
Back to the card. I coloured the image with copics and cut it out with the nestie label die. The snowflake I cut on the cuttlebug and embossed the snowflake panel on the cuttlebug too. Getting plenty of use out of the cuttlebug today. Added two layers of card which were cut with a scalloped edge blade on my Woodware cutter. I added white glitter to the snowflake, scalloped borders and the little flakes on the image. The pearls, ribbon and trim are from stash and the greeting is Craftwork Cards from Lyndsey's shop.

Just off to the hospital now to see poor John. Do hope he's picked up a bit today.
Bye for now,
Love Pat x

Tuesday Taggers - Burst of Colour

High there, where does the time go? Another weeks gone by so it's time for Tuesday Taggers challenge again. This week the theme is Bursts of colour influenced by fireworks. Mine actually has a firework feel but you don't have to, just anything that fits the bill of bursts of colour. Remember you can create anything you like not just cards, which should give your creativity plenty of scope.

Please check out all the DT members creations on the TT blog and more importantly please join in with the challenge. This week the Craft Barn are sponsoring us so you could win a £15 voucher to spend on their fantastic new look website. Why not check the site out by clicking the button on my sidebar.

I decided to make a tri-fold triangular card. The image, which I water coloured and highlighted with stickles, I downloaded from
Elizabeth O Dulemba's site. I created the word in Wordart and the curling ribbons are from some I had left over from present wrapping last Christmas.

Do hope you'll join us this week and I look forward to checking out your creations.

Hugs, Pat xx

Happy Mondays?

Hi there, well I thought I'd just pop on here while I'm waiting for an ambulance to take John into Hospital. It's better than twiddleing my thumbs. He's been poorly since Thursday but got considerably worse by yesterday. I checked the leaflet that came with the antibiotics he was given and it said you shouldn't take if you have a disease of the nervous system, well John has MS which affects the nervous system. Contacted NHS direct who got the out of hours doctor to phone and he said to stop the medication right away. Upshot is our own doctor came out today, that's a novelty in itself, and decided the best thing was to get him checked out at the hospital. So hopefully we'll get to the bottom of what is wrong and have him home quickly.
I've felt like a spare part all morning waiting for the doc and feeling helpless. Decided I'd cut out some snowflakes on the Cuttlebug so who knows I may get some chrissie cards done sometime soon, funny aren't I?
Sorry I haven't come on with some fantastic creation or some cheerful and interesting conversation but hopefully I'll be back in action soon.

Crafters Companion - Occupations & Hobbies CD

Good morning hope you are all well on this dull and dismal morning. Just popped on to remind you about the launch of the Crafters Companion Occupations/Hobbies CD set 9pm tonight on Ideal World/Create and Craft.
I've uploaded some of the cards I've made for the launch to give you a bit of a sneak preview. If you are busy watching Strictly or X Factor you might want to record the show or check out the C&C website beforehand.

Well hope you all have a good weekend, a great one for crafting as it's not too nice outside, well not here in the West Midlands.
I've got the grandchildren coming round in a mo so they're gonna keep me busy until their Dad picks them up this afternoon.
Maybe I'll get crafting time later.
Love, Pat xx

Friday creations

Good afternoon all. Hope you are all having a good day.
I decided I had better get my act together this afternoon as it's my daughters wedding anniversary tomorrow and her birthday on Monday and I hadn't even got started on a card.
The first one is for her birthday. I decided I wouldn't use any DP but would stamp my own. The backing panel was made using distresss inks worn lipstick and milled lavender dabbed onto a craft sheet spritzed with water and the white card placed onto it. I then used a Crafty Individuals swirl stamp from the C1-235 set and stamped using the milled lavender. The main image panel was stamped using the swirls and a gorgeous art deco lady that I got from Gail at Circa Design, it only cost me 50p 'cause there is a little fault on it but I soon sorted that. I coloured the image very delicately using watercolours. The ribbon and gorgeous brad are from stash.

This one is the Anniversary card. I used K & co papers, nestie shapeability fleur de lis pendant, MS doily punch and stamped the flower using the free stamp from October 2008 Craft Stamper mag.

I decided not to put sentiments on either as I thought it would spoil the look.

Well that's it for the moment. Hope you have a good weekend.

Hugs, Pat xx

A tidy craft room!

Well as I said earlier I've had a bit of a tidy up in the craft room. Really need to sort out a few drawers but outwardly it doesn't look too bad, so I thought I'd show the evidence of my hard work. I've even sorted by bits (card & paper) files but still couldn't bring myself to throw much out, well I might NEED it.

Looks quite tidy doesn't it? But oh what's this lot doing out on the landing!

Think I definately need more storage or maybe a move into the bigger spare bedroom but that would me more space to keep tidy.
How long will it stay like this? Weeks ,if I don't do any crafting that is.
I've got a few cards to get done for the family this week and I'm struggling with the ones for my daughters wedding anniversary and her birthday. Hopefully inspiration will strike before too long.
Have a good evening crafting.

Tuesday Taggers - Things that go bump in the night,

Morning everyone, brrrrrrrrrrr it's a bit chilly here today and a little blustery. Never mind good reason to stay in and craft.
Well as it's Tuesday it time for Tuesday Taggers challenge which this week is "Things that go bump in the night". I think this could be a bumper week for entries as I know so many people are into the Halloween theme at the moment. Should you need any inspiration please pop over and check out my fellow DT members creations, they are brilliant. Don't forget it doesn't have to be a card (although mine is), it can be anything you like, altered art, tag, atc, box whatever tickles your fancy. We'd really love you to join in.
Well here's mine.
The image and sentiment I got from my dear friend Linda. I won a fabulous folder from her full with Halloween images, so thank you once again Linda. You might like to check out Linda's blog as she's one very clever lady.
The papers are basic grey and I drew purple and green lines on the orange strip. The image is watercoloured and the pinafore is actually purple not blue, flippin camera!

Well better go and "tidy" up the craft room, looks like a bombs hit it, well you know what I mean don't you?

The colours for this challenge are red, yellow, black and white. The DT have created some fabulous designs to give us inspiration so you might want to check them out.

Here's my little number.

The papers are Allsorts by Crafts House. The cute Elisabeth Bell image Rian, available from Crafters Companion, is coloured with copics and cut out and layered using Nestie labels. The lace border is cut with the MS doily punch and the flowers and pearls are from stash.

Hope you all have a good day.

Saturday 10 October 2009

Good morning everyone hope you are all well.
Sorry I haven't been visiting any of you the last few days but I've been a bit under the weather with a cold and chest infection. I'm feeling a little better now so hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things in the next couple of days.
I just couldn't face even picking up the computer but I must be on the mend 'cause here I am.
I've got so many things to catch up on in the house and garden but I think I'll leave that for another day, again! and force myself out to spend some money. Just the thereapy I need.
Well I'll try and catch up with you all very soon.

Popcorn the Bear Christmas stamps

Hi Everyone, thought I would just post pics of some of the cards I made for the launch of the new Crafter Companion Popcorn Christmas stamps. This is one cute bear who looks gorgeous coloured and used along with th CD's.
For this one I printed a vellum wrap and edged it with MS doily punch. I coloured the image with copics and then put it though the bug with the swiss dots folder.
For the card base I printed onto printable pearl card from Crafters Companion and printed onto vellum for the top layer which is edged with the MS doily punch. I coloured the stamped image with copics and stamped the flower onto vellum, coloured it with whispers, embossed it and 3D layered it.
For this next one I printed onto printable pearl card for the main two panel then printed onto vellum to layer onto the back panel. Coloured the image again with copics.

Again printed onto printable card for the layers and coloured image with copics.

Made the base of this shadow box out of card from the printable card pack. The patterned paper is off the CD. Stamped images of tree, biscuit the dog and soufle the duck and coloured with copics. Snowflake is cuttlebug diecut.

Papers from CD design sets and stamped image coloured with copics

Papers from CD design sets and Co-ordinating papers. Stamped image coloured with copics.

Printed pattern from Cd directly onto the card and just added water coloured stamped image

This is a piano hinge book. Didn't have time to take pics of the inside but all the main images from all the stamp sets are on the inside pages, all 12 of them.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you like the Popcorn Collection.
Love,
Pat xx.
