The Stockings were hung................................

This week at Tuesday Taggers we would like you to follow the theme of "The Stockings Were Hung......"
I decided to get out Sheena Douglass's Bah Humbug stamps again and I used Copics to colour it.

Well I know just how busy everyone is at the moment but if you can find the time we would love it if you would join us for the challenge this week.  For more info and to check out the DT fantastic creations please do pop over to the TT challenge blog.
Why is it when the think you've finally  got everything ready for Christmas you think of something else you must get. So once again I hope to get finished today, hoping aren't I?
Catch you later,
Pat xx

Tutorial.

I'm doing this post wearing my new glasses which I've had for when I'm working on the computer.  I normally wear varifocals but the optician advised that I had some intermediate vision specs which should help when using the puter.  So far so good except when I try to multitask and watch the TV at the same time.
I got a new pair of the varifocals too and was amazed at the difference they made. I'm hoping they help to cut down on the headaches that I've been getting so much lately.
Anyway just want to let you know that I have a tutorial over on the Crafters Companion News, Views and Inspiration blog.  It's quite a simple little card but one that I love to use and it always looks really effective.
This is the card.
Also just a little reminder that there is a £50 voucher up for grabs on the Crafters Companion monthly challenge blog.  You can either follow the sketch or the theme of Christmas or both and you don't have to use Crafters Companion products but if you do you will be entered into the random draw twice.
Hope your Christmas plans are coming together. Just got a couple of bits to get and then I'll be a happy bunny.
Bye for now,
Pat xx

"Deck the Halls"

It's time for another challenge over at Tuesday Taggers and this week the theme is "Deck the Halls".  The challenge is sponsored this week by

Lovin' Ink
who are offering the stamp set from Michelle's Compos bug box
I've  used an image from Jayne Nestorenko's Adorables CD and the holly sprays are stamped using Sheena Douglass's stamps from the Bah! Humbug! 1 stamp plate coloured with copics. I've highlighted the berries and fruit with diamond glaze.
It would be great it you would join us this week, and also as we are going to be revamping the TT challenge blog in the new year we'd love you to leave us comments with any ideas you  might have.

Hope your festive arrangements are going to plan. I'm getting there slowly and hope to get my cards in the post today.
Thanks for stopping by.

Advent!

Happy 1st of December, have you got your advent calendars ready?
I've got the old faithful one out that I made many years ago and has become a family tradition.  It's  a fabric one with little pockets for the goodies which are always chocolates, yum yum!

Well being the 1st of the month it's time for another challenge over at the Crafters Companion challenge blog.
This  month there is another sketch, this time by Leann, to follow with a Christmas theme. Don't forget that you don't have to use CC products to enter but if you do you'll be entered twice into the random draw to win  the fantastic CC £50 voucher, now that's  what I call  a prize!

The DT have created some brilliant cards to inspire you so please do pop over to check them out and join in this month.

Here is my card
I decided to go with Jayne Nestorenko's Adorables which are so aptly named. The papers and decoupage image are from the CD. I love this gorgeous collection and the accompanying stamps are wonderful.

Keep safe and warm

Jolly St Nick

Over at Tuesday Taggers this week the theme is Jolly St Nick
and what fabulous creations the DT have created to inspire you.
Don't forget that the challenge is sponsored by the fantastic Craft Barn with a £15 voucher for the lucky winner chosen at random. Just post a link to the Craft Barn along with your entry.

My creation is pretty simple this week as I've been a bit pushed for time since I got back from Crafters Companion Craftaganza.  We had a great time up there and there was that much snow up there I half expected we were gonna see St Nick himself.

I layered some nestie labels and added a bit of distress ink to the edges  then added a stamped santa which I had water coloured and stickled.  Bit of a cheat actually because I used the nestie labels that didn't get used at the Craftaganza and that the lovely Claire had spent so much time die cutting, Thanks Claire!

Rock Chick

Hope you are having a good weekend.
I enjoyed Sheena's  show this morning and am looking forward to the one at 12 noon on Create  and Craft.
Not only that Sheena will be at the Craftaganza (Crafter's Companion) that I will be attending from Wednesday until Saturday. I am so excited as we always have a fantastic time.   Jayne Nestorenko will be there too and she is just such a lovely lady and so talented too.

Well I said I'd let you know how I got on with the oven cleaning. Well I must say the Oven Pride bag is fantastic, you just pop the racks in the bag and add the solution,  wait a while  (I left it overnight) and the grease just wipes away. I shall certainly be using it again.

Now here is the card I made for Jessica's birthday.
As soon as I saw this image over at Kenny K digital designs I new it was the one for Jessica's card. She plays the guitar and has gorgeous big eyes and fair hair so it's  perfect.  I coloured the image using copics and the papers  are White Rose Studio.

That's it from me for today, hope to be back tomorrow.

Love Pat xx

The Calm before the Storm!!

Well today is my gorgeous Granddaughter Jessica's 11th birthday.  Where have the years gone?
She and her friends are going to see the Harry Potter film then off to Pizza hut before having a sleepover. Don't think there'll be much sleeping going on though do you?
I am just taking a bit of me time out before Grandson Elliot arrives. He is too young to go and see the film so is spending the day with us and having a sleepover at our house to keep him out of the girls way. He's been planning the day which includes bowling and McDonalds.

Well here is another card made using Sheena's new stamps

This stamp is so detailed that it looks fabulous without any colouring.  I just stamped it with Archival Sepia pad and cut it out with the Nestie labels 8 die. The sentiment is from the stamp set too.The background paper was made using Cosmic Shimmer sprays and the gorgeous bow is recycled from a Chocolate box. (The chocolates are long gone)
Right well that's  "me time" over, gotta go and finish cleaning the cooker. I bought one of those Oven Cleaning kits with the polythene bag to put the racks in. Now I've got to clean it away without getting myself in a mess!! I'll let you know how successful it is or not.
Bye for now.

Friday 19 November 2010

As promised

Good Afternoon from a very dull and dismal West  Midlands
I managed to get a couple of Christmas present today so I am feeling a little bit better about it. At least I'm heading in the right direction even if I've got a fair old way to go.  Still got loads of cards to do but I thrive on pressure - NOT!

Well her is the sneak peek of one of the fabulous stamp sets that Sheena Douglass will be launching Sunday 9am and 12 noon on Create and Craft.  If you are going to be busy don't forget to record  the shows because Sheena always shares some fabulous ideas with us.

This is the pub stamp which is absolutely fabulous. I coloured it using distress inks and layered it onto gold  mirri board.  The sentiments are also from the set. The flowers and leaves were cut using my Slice machine (available from Crafters Companion).

If you would like to see more pop over to Sheena's blog to check out her sneak peaks, they are gorgeous.
Have a good weekend everyone and I'll try and post another peek tomorrow.

Love, Pat xx

Footie Fan

This card is one I made for our nephews birthday which was today.  He is a keen West Ham fan hence the football theme.

Recipe :-
Papers - Basic Grey.
Image  & sentiment - Crafter's Companion Men's stamp collection
Distress Inks - Faded Jeans & Fired Brick.

I love these tri-fold cards which have the sentiment on the middle inner section and nestie  labels as the fastener. I had intended to enter this into a challenge but I'm not in the mood for finding one. So if anyone knows of a challenge it would fit please let me know.  Lazy aren't I?

I'll be posting a sneak peek tomorrow of Sheena Douglass's latest stamps which will be on Create & Craft on Sunday at 9am and 12 noon.
See you tomorrow,
Pat xx

Peace, Joy, Love- Tuesday Taggers challenge

Another chance for me to get a Christmas card done as the TT challenge is to include one of the festive words, Peace, Joy, Love.
I decided to get out the Clarity stamp which I picked up at the NEC  and here is the card I created.

I gold embossed the wording and stamped an accompanying image in the centre of the O. The deer images are also from the accompanying set.  I brayered across the corners of the main image and across the ,O having masked the rest of the image, using the Waterfall Big & Juicy pad.  I used the same pad and some cut & dry to add the same colour to the deer squares.
I do hope you'll decide to join us this week and do please pop over to the TT challenge blog to check out the fantastic DT creations.
I'm off to the hairdressers later this morning, not my favourite experience but much better than yesterday's visit to the dentist. Actually it wasn't too bad just a clean and a tiny filling but even so not great.
Have a good day.

A Kind thought.

Pass some KINDNESS

My dear  Blogging friend Ildiko  has passed this fantastic kindness award to me. What a wonderful thought. Thank you so much.

I would like to pass this Kindness to all my loyal followers who I really appreciate. So please dear friends take this button and pass it on.

This Kindness award originates from Paulette's blog and the idea is that we pass on the award and then go to Paulettes blog and tell her who we passed it to. That way we can see how much Kindness is going around and also Paulette will be adding freebies to her blog.

Sunny Monday!

Hi there. Thought I would just stop by and share a card with you that I made for my BIL's birthday last week.

The main image and wording is from a Butterfly Kisses clear collage set that I got from the N.E.C.  I stamped the main image onto acetate that I had coloured using Cosmic shimmer sprays, glitter and tissue paper. The swirls are from a stamp  plate I got from Craft Stamper Magazine when I renewed my subscription.
Well better get myself off the computer and get back in the craft room so that I can get on with some samples that I need to get in the post.
See you tomorrow for the Tuesday Taggers challenge. Talking of challenges don't forget that there is a £30 voucher up for grabs over at the Crafters Companion challenge blog. All you need to do is follow the sketch and you don't even have to use a CC product.

Exciting News.

Just had to stop by and share some fantastic news with you (OK I am a bit late but I've been out all day again) in case you haven't heard.

Congratulations Sara and all the team at Crafters Companion on winning the Small to Medium sized Business of the Year at the National Business Awards in London last night.  Peter Jones and Nick Clegg (who made a speech) were there and David Cameron made a live video link from China. Well done everyone, what a team!

Well I went shopping today determined to get some of my Christmas shopping and did I eck? No!  Couldn't find a bloomin' thing.  At this rate I might have to postpone this year. I haven't even got my cards done.

Sorry no cards today but pop back tomorrow and I might have something to show.

Bye for now

Tuesday 9 November 2010

Fantastic Day.

Well I've had a wonderful day out with my daughter and had a fantastic lunch at Purnells restaurant in Birmingham.  It was an amazing experience that I can't wait to repeat.

While I'm here just a little reminder.
Don't forget to join in the challenge over at the Crafters Companion challenge blog. This month Jacqui (Cats Whiskers) has created this fabulous  sketch to follow with the added theme of One for the Girls.

And don't forget that Sara is offering a £30 voucher to a lucky winner drawn at random, so well worth entering isn't it?

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

All that glitters isn't gold!

Tuesday Taggers
Silver, Gold and Purple plus some stamping.
Another week rolls around and it's Ildiko's turn to choose the theme of the TT challenge.

Ildiko would like us to prove that gold and silver do work well together, then add a touch of purple and  stamped image and wow what a sumptuous recipe.

I decided that as I desperately need to get on with the Christmas cards that this was definately the way to go. So without further ado here is my card.

I've had this stamp for years  so haven't got a clue who it's by or where I got it. I stamped it onto some paper that I had made for an earlier challenge using distress inks. Then matted onto silver mirri board. I put some gold mirri through the cuttlebug and layered it all onto some Core'dinations card. The silver greeting is a diecut. The lilac on this photo is irl more purple, honest.
Feeling inspired to join us this week yet? If you need a bit more persuasion please do pop over to the TT challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams creations.

Right, well I'm off out with my daughter today. We are going to try out  Purnell's Michelin Star restaurant in
Birmingham.  My mouth's watering at the thought of it.  I'll let you know if it lived up to my expectations.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs, Pat xx

Taste of the Orient.

Good morning!
Well it's time for the Tuesday Taggers challenge again. Doesn't the time fly?
We had some fantastic Spooky Halloween entries for the last challenge and had great fun visiting the blogs to check them out. Thanks to all who entered.
The theme this week is oriental chosen by our fantastic Zoe.
I haven't used this theme for quite some time so it's nice to have a change.

Quite a simple card which is pretty much self explanatory.  I love the border which was bought from out local garden centre's  silk flower section quite some time ago.
My team mates have come up with  some fantastic designs which I'm sure you'd love to take a look at and I do hope you'll decide to join us for the challenge this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comments which are really appreciated.

Bye for now

Here is my take on the challenge
I've used this gogeous image from Jayne Nestorenko's Adorable collection, very aptly named I think!
The image and bow are both from the stamp plates and are coloured using distress inks and the papers are from the CD.

Don't forget that you don't have to use  Crafters Companion products to enter, just follow the Sketch. To find out more just pop over to the challenge blog.

Tuesday 26 October 2010

Happy Birthday!

Today is my gorgeous daughters birthday and she shares it with my BIL.
Hope you both have a great day.
They should have received their cards now so I can share them with you.

This one is Justine's

The papers are Wild Rose studio and as I'm sure you can tell the image and sentiment are PB. I've used distress inks for the colouring and added diamond stickles to the flower butterflies and bee's wings.
I am entering this into the Sketch Saturday challenge.

This is my BIL's card.

The fabulous stag image is from Crafters Companion's Mens stamp collection. I just added a little bit of colour with copics.  The card is cordinations, the check paper basic grey and the centre panel was created using distress inks (I think dusty concord and peeled paint) and iridescent gold glimmer mist.

Thanks for stopping by today,
Hugs, Pat xx

Boo!

Tuesday Taggers
Halloween- Plenty of purple.

Well it's that time of the week again another challenge over at Tuesday Taggers.  I think this is going to be a popular one with the spooky Halloween theme and we'd like you to use plenty of purple too.
The challenge is sponsored this week by our good friends at The Craft Barn, so if you'd like to be included in the random draw you should add the Craft Barn logo to your post.

I decided on a tag this week and here it is.

I used dusty concord distress inks to create the backgound colour, and I promise it does look more purple than blue, then dropped on some water to make the splodges.  The images and sentiments are from a great set I picked up for £1.49 while on holiday. I glossy accentsed(?) them, added a scruffy bit of ribbon and it's done.

Do please check out the creations that the rest of the team have come up with, they are fantastic and I do hope you'll join in the fun this week.

Have a spooky time!

More than two legs and I'm excited!!!

The theme for this weeks Tuesday Taggers challenge has been chosen by our super talented DT buddie Michelle.  She would like us to use more than 2 legs on our creations.  Now I tried to  think out of the box for this but in the end decided I needed to get some Christmas cards done so went with this cute image from Daisy & Dandelion which I coloured with copics and glittered with diamond stickles.  The papers are from some of last years leftovers which I think are Papermania.
Without further ado here it is

The rest of the DT have come up with some pretty fantastic creations so please pay the TT challenge blog a visit to hopefully get inspired to join us this week.

Well I'm so excited as I'm off to London today to see Sir Cliff at the RAH. yippee!
I'm so looking forward to this as I've been a fan since he first appeared on TV 52 years ago. Oh dear I'm showing my age but I'll be like a young wipersnapper come tonight.
Hopefully I'll get some good pics which I might have to share with you when I get back! They wont be as good as the one in the paper yesterday though 'cause I don't think he'll take his top off tonight.
Oh and I must wish Sir Cliff happy 70th birthday for Thursday. (I'm sure he'll spot this when he's blog hopping before the show)

Well enough of my excitable wittering,
Have a good day and I'll see you when I get back.
Hugs,  Pat xx

Tuesday 5 October 2010

Tuesday Taggers.

It's Tuesday again and time for the Tuesday Taggers challenge which this week has been set by our lovely Georgina.  She would like us to create a box with something you've made inside.

I decide to put a bracelet I made from a simple kit I bought at the NEC in my box.  It 's made by knitting jewellery wire and adding tiny beads as you go.
The box was made using large scalloped circle nestie labels for the top and base cut from card which I had coloured using a Big and Juicy pad (Mountain Meadow)  misted with water and sprayed with glimmer mist iridescent gold. The main box and lid were made on my Ultimate Pro (available from Crafters Companion).  The flowers were cut using  scalloped nesties, scrunched up and distressed with brushed corduroy DI.

Very Exciting News

Launching Saturday on Create and Craft
at 8am and 10am
Sheena's very own stamp collection

Well I know how many of you lovely crafters out there love Sheena's awesome work and will  be so excited at the prospect of getting your little crafty mits on her fabulous artwork. The collection consists of two stamp plates under the name of Bah Humbug and two entitled Wouldn't it be Lovely.

I can't  tell you how excited I was when I got the stamps in the post so that I could create some cards for the show.
Here's a little  taster

This gorgeous lady is from the Wouldn't it be Lovely 2 stamp plate. I used some Papermania Regency Signature paper and coloured the lovely lady with distress inks. The sentiment is also from the stamp plate and cut out using a nestie label .
Why not visit Sheena's blog to get more information and to check out her fabulous tutorial using the Bah Humbug stamps, you'll  love it.

Better go and get some ironing done now and I hate it!!  I would have had it done by now but my daughter needed help down at Ikea. I get cold shudders down my spine just thinking about that place.  All the struggling to find the bits and pieces, then struggling to get it in the car and then the best bit putting it all together. Been there, done that, but not any more, I really must be getting old!

I'll share another sneak peek with you tomorrow.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Well hello everyone, sorry I haven't been about much this week.  I've been a bit busy behind the scenes and with family commitments but now that's all out of the way I should be a better blogger!

However please do pop over to the challenge blog to check out the DT creations for the theme of  "Here comes Autumn" which was chosen by our super talented Teri.  I love this theme as Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year with all  the gorgeous colours.  The Craft Barn are sponsoring the challenge this week so there is a £15 voucher up for grabs for a lucky winner chosen at random if you link them on your blog post.

Well that's about it for me for today but please pop back tomorrow because I have an extra special sneak peek that you just wont want to miss.  I'm so excited about it and can't wait to share it with you.

Bye for now.

Thought I'd just share another card made using the Beatrix potter Winter Tales Collection which will  launch tonight at 9pm on Ideal World.  I'd also like to remind you about the challenge over at Crafters Companion challenge blog as there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs and even some free downloadable papers from the collection.

No stamping on this one everything has been printed from the CD except the little flourish which was cut on the Slice.

Well I'm off to the hairdressers now to get all beautified, quite a challenge I can tell you. The best bit is the coffee and lovely biscuits and the worst is the bloomin' back wash basin which hurts my neck.  Well no pain no gain as they say.

By for now,

Pat xx

Anything goes!

Today for the Tuesday Taggers challenge Emma has said "Anything Goes" so plenty of scope there then.  The DT have some fabulous creations on display over on the TT blog so please pop over to check them out and get some inspiration should you need it.
We have a fabulous sponsor for this weeks challenge Bea from Ribbon Oasis so to be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize don't forget to put a link on your post . Wish I could enter as one of my many weaknesses is ribbon, I love it!

I decided on a little thank you card this week.

I think the paper is Wild Rose Studio if my memory serves me correct. The image is PB coloured with copics.

Here is another little thank you card. I made these for two of  my friends who so kindly chauffeur me on our nights out. Thanks girls.

Another Beatrix Potter Winter Tales

I'm just having a cuppa before going to collect the grandchildren from school so thought I'd stop by and give you another peek of the BP Winter Tales and a little reminder about the challenge for the launch which is tomorrow. There are some great prizes up for grabs so for more details visit the Crafters Companion challenge blog. If you don't have any BP products that's not a problem as there is a free download available for you to use.

The papers are from the CD and the images and sentiment are from the stamp late.

Well that's it from me for today, enjoy the rest of your day.

Another Beatrix Potter

Hi, hope you are having a good weekend.
I have had quite a busy morning and managed to get 9 cards made, mind you I had prepared some elements last night but even so it's  a good tally for me as I'm not the fastest crafter.
Did you take a look at the Crafters Companion challenge blog for the Beatrix Potter Winter Tales challenge? Don't forget if you haven't got any of the BP range then you can get downloads using the link on the challenge blog.

This card is the one featured on the challenge blog.
I used one of the Crafters Companion embossing boards to create the cracker shaped card. I used papers and borders from the CD to decorate the card and the image is from the stamp plate and has been coloured with copics.
If you visit the CC challenge blog you'll find links to the DT blogs where you can check out more card ideas.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Sneak Peek and a challenge!

Well more exciting news to share with you today.
Crafters Companion will be launching  A Winter's Tale, the latest in the Beatrix Potter range next Tuesday.
The collection consists of a fabulous CD, stamp plate  and card making kit.
To celebrate the launch we are having an additional challenge over at the Crafters Companion challenge blog and believe me it's well worth entering with some fabulous prizes up for grabs and some free downloads.
  • The theme is Beatrix Potter so the card must be made using something from one of the BP CDs, stamps or the free download·
  • You can enter as many times as you want – the more you enter, the more chances you  have to win
  • The closing date is Sunday 26th September
  • If you  don’t have any of the range you can use the free papers which you can download from here
  • There are 6 prizes up for grabs in total: the top prize is the complete A Winter’s Tale card making kit, and there are 5 runner up prizes of the Winter’s Tale CD ROM.  The winners will be picked at random.
Why not take a look at this month’s sketch too, that way you  can make one card to cover both challenges, and have even more chances of winning!
If you pop  over to the challenge blog you can check out the
DT creations using the collection and I'm sure you will
feel inspired and want to join in the fun.
As promised her is a sneak peek

Everything  on this card apart from the ribbon and brads
is printed from the CD.  I love this paper as it's so versatile to use
for any time of the year , not just Christmas, as is the cute
Peter Rabbit decoupage.
Enjoy your weekend everyone
