Wendy's Sketch Challenge 13

This is my card following Wendy's sketch challenge. If you'd like to join in just visit Wendy she'd be pleased to see you.

The backing paper is I think Dovecraft retro floral, the torn strip is some pearl paper cuttlebuged and the gorgeous cute image is a Sugar Nellie coloured with water colour pens. The larger flower is cut using a cuttlebug die and the smaller ones plus the ribbon and brad are from stash.

I've posted early today as we have a busy day at the Hospital. Johns got to have an EEG and then a CT scan. There'll be a lot of sitting about for me so I'm just wonderng if there's anything craft wise I could take with me. I hate wasting precious crafting time!

Catch you later and thanks for visiting and leaving your comments. Have a good day

Wendy's sketch challenge

This is the card I've made for Wendy's sketch challenge over at Crafters Companion forum. As well as following the sketch we were given the image to use any way we want. I made a border and trimmed the image to fit on the nesties. The backing paper is basic grey, the sentiment was done in Word and the pearls and beads are from stash. I had wanted to use 3D2 Cd but hadn't loaded it to my laptop and then couldn't find the disc. It's hiding somewhere in my craft room and hopefully will come to light before too long.

Thank you for taking time out to visit me.

Colour Create challenge 8

This is my creation for this weeks Colour Create challenge which is Navy, Torquoise and lime. with the option of not using any DP's.

I've used Crafters Companion gorgeous embossed navy card as the base onto which I've layered lime card and torquoise pearl paper, also by CC. I stamped the leaves, cheap clear set from Craft Central before they closed down, onto the lime paper using navy ink and added some torquoise stickles glitter. On the torquoise paper I stamped the sentiment, another bargain bin purchase, with navy ink. The corners were punched using an Xcut punch, the ribbon and metal decorations are from stash and the flowers are from Joanna Sheen.

The DT have come up with some fabulous creations so why not pop over and check them out. By the way I'm the Guest Designer on the challenge next week so please come back and see what I come up with.

Thanks for visiting and please leave a message so that I can visit you too.

Mothers Day Card

I made this Mothers Day card using the Crafters Companion Flower Fairies CD which is absolutely adorableThis first image is of the inside back page. The letters have been printed size 3 on the disc. The fairy image and the flower are from the toppers section. I've layered the fairy topper onto gold mirri board and added a sizzix diecut swirl.

This next image is of the middle layer of the card and I've printed out a 4 x 4 insert with a Mothers Day verse which is in the Versewriter section of the CD and layered it again onto gold mirri board

This is the front of the card and I've used the Zinnia pyrimage from the Toppers section.
The design set papers have been printed onto pearl card from the CC printer card pack for each layer and this gives a lovely lustre finish. I have added ribbon and brads from stash.
Well I'm going to have a nice day out today at my cousins. She lives by the river at Stourport in Worcestershire and as it's a lovely sunny day today we should have a lovely time. She's putting on a bit of a party for my Aunt & Uncle who have been married 60 years. I'm taking Mum with me so the oldies (oh I think that includes me now I'm an OAP!) will have a good natter about the old days.
I've another busy day tomorrow as my Granddaughters dancing school are putting on a show which I'm looking forward to. The little ones are so cute. So if I don't get chance to get on here I'd like to wish you all a very happy Mothers Day.

Diamond Wedding

This is a card I made for my Aunt & Uncles diamond Wedding Anniversary.

I used some pearl card to make the base card which is basically an A4 sheet scored and folded to A5 and then scored to make the folds. The pattern paper is from the gorgeous luxury envelope pack from Crafters Companion. The numbers are stamped useing the rubber stamps from the Cute Companions collection also by CC. The sentiments (which don't show up too well) are from the Occasions rubber stamp set by CC. The flowers and ribbon are from stash. It's a bit twee but suits the occasion I guess.

Thanks for visiting, I'll be back soon.

Wendy's Sketch challenge

Well I've managed to get a card done for Wendy's challenge, don't know how but I did it. What a day we've had. Decided to go and get some weedkiller before they get hold on the drive. John (hubby) came with me and he travels in his wheelchair in a wheelchair accessible kangoo. Got there and back OK but then it all started to go wrong. As John was reversing out of the van the lead to the power control got caught on the seat belt fitting and smoke started to pour from the control. The chair wouldn't move and he was stuck on the ramp. The leaver that you pull inorder to move the chair manually wouldn't move and he was well and truely stuck. Our good neighbour came out to try and help but he couldn't release the lever so tried to fit the wires to a connector. No joy just kept shorting out. Looked like John was going to spend the rest of the day stuck on the ramp. Then Steve our neighbour had a brain wave and went and got his trolley and lifted the back wheels of the ground and then between us we manouvered it off the ramp, he was then able to release the lever and we were able to push it, although it was difficult, into the house. The repair man came and took off with the control to repair so now I'm having to push this blooming great wheelchair around . So if John upsets me I can push him out of the room and leave him there, as if I would!

Well back to the card. The card base is Bazzill bling and the Dp is papermania. The stamped image is a stamp I got in Jacqui's candy which I watercoloured and layered onto gold mirri board. The flowers are punched and the sentiment from Craft Creations. The ribbon and little gems are from stash.

Well that's it for now just gonna check out some blogs.

Thanks for visiting

One I made today.

Well I did say I was going to get a card done before the grandson arrived but I didn't manage to complete it until after tea. What a busy day keeping Elliot occupied , picking up Mom, collecting Jessica from dance class, ironing, cooking lunch inbetween. Anyway alls quiet now so here's the card.

I know I said I was creating a card for Wendys challenge but it didn't turn out that way. I suddenly realised that the image I'd coloured wasn't going to fit into the sketch. I decided to use the image to make up a card anyway and I'll come up with one for Wendys sketch tomorrow, hopefully.

The adorable stamp is a Magnolia that I got from the NEC on Friday and I coloured it using watercolour brush pens and layered it onto a scrap of bazzill card from my bit box. The paper is by Dovecraft retro flowers which I also bought at NEC. The sentiment layered on bazzill is Craft Creations and guess where I got that from, yes you got it, NEC. Large flower flora doodles from Joanna Sheen (NEC) and the other flowers and ribbon are from stash.

Well off to see the results of Dancing on Ice.

Back tomorrow, Love Pat x

Quick hello

Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't posted for a couple of day. Nec Friday and spent loads and yesterday as the weather was so spring like I had a brain storm and cut down some shrubs in the garden. Didn't even get to try out my new purchases, Nesties, stamps, watercolours, papers etc etc. Must have felt guilty so paid penance of gardening.
Well I've just stamped and coloured one of the Magnolia stamps I bought so I'm off now to try and complete a card for Wendys challenge before the Grandchildren arrive 'cause I'll get nothing done then, bless 'em.
Please call back later and hopefully there'll be something to see.

Bye for now

Off to NEC tomorrow

No cards to post today haven't had a spare minute today. This morning did a bit of painting just touching up paint work in the lounge, well I suppose it's crafting but not the sort I like.
This afternoon had to collect the grandchildren from school and give them their dinner. They certainly keep me on my toes but managed to keep them out of the craft room. I'm just relaxing on the sofa with the laptop now they've gone home. Well I've got to get my strength back ready for the NEC tomorrow. Did want to prepare a list of all my wants but haven't got round to it anyway it's all in my head and there's lots of it.
I'll let you know what I come back with.

Tag Card

Morning Everyone, I'm burning the midnight oil again, well actually it might come to that 'cause the lights keep flashing of and on, hope we don't get a power cut.

I've been asked over at CC forum for instruction for the Tag Card that we made with Wendie Rhodes at last years Crafters Companion Craftaganza so I thought I might as well put it on here while I'm on. Hope you can follow it.

Tag Card

You will need 3 sheets of A4 card.
1. Cut 4 x 15cm squares or use the Ultimate line A4 half fold as measurement.
2. Take a piece of A4 card and cut short edge to 15cm or use A4 half fold line on Ultimate as measurement.
3. Starting from short (15cm) edge score at 2cm, then 5cm x4 then 2cm. If using Ultimate place short edge to handle edge of board and score along 1st line then A4 gatefold. Move across and line up again at lst line and score 3 more times at A4 gatefold then butt last scoreline to handle edge and score along first line. Cut away the rest of the card.
4. Make 1st scoreline a valley fold then concertina the rest.
5. Sandwich the 2cm sections between 2 x 15cm squares making front and back of card.
6. Add tags as in pictures.

The decorations up to you!
Off to bedy byes now catch ya soon

Colour Create Challenge

This is my creation for this weeks Colour Create challenge using Yellow Orange & Green with the option of making something other than a card. There are some fabulous creations by the DT so why not pop over and check them out. I decided on a tag simply because I haven't had the time to come up with anything more intricate but I'm quite pleased with it except that the photo isn't too good due to poor light.

I made the tag from some of Crafters Companion orange pearl card and layered some CC paper in yellow on top. I cut and layered a section from some basic grey paper. Added a cute stamped image by Imaginisce which was in the candy I won from Jacqui, and an embellishment also from Jacqui's candy so thank you Jacqui. The ribbon and fibres are from stash.

Wendy's Sketch 10

Hi Everyone, Hope you all enjoyed the launch of the Flower Fairies last night & managed to get hold of the bumper pack. Isn't it just a gorgeous set?

Well here is my card for Wendy's sketch over at CC forum. I had an Anniversary card to make so thought I would use the sketch. As well as following the sketch you had to use certain colours but if you want to know more why not have a look on Wendy's blog.

Here it is

The blue paper is one I designed my, clever? No! just painted some paper with pearl paints and scanned it into the computer when dry (would have been messy otherwise LOL!). The pink paper is papermania which I scored on the Ultimate Pro wavy line. The image is a Little Claire clear stamp mounted onto card from my ever increasing bit box. The sentiment created in Word, the flowers punched and the ribbon and little heart are from stash. The hedgehogs on the inside of the card are part of the stamp used on the front , I just cut the image up to suit the card.

Well thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments, please stop by again soon. I'm off now to get some jobs done before I start crafting again.

See you soon.

Why not check out my Flower Fairy cards

Friday, 6 March 2009

Hi there, Well I've been a good girl today and cleaned out the craft room. Must say it had got in a bit of a mess and even I was scared to go in there. Anyway it's lovely again now and I feel ready for action again. Mind you I probably wont be able to find anything now, well you know how it is. Wonder how long it will take for it to be back to normal, meaning messy, probably after the next session. I'm not too bad when doing the odd card here and there it's when I've got a commision going on it all goes to pot, it's the creative juices that cause the problem.
Booked our tickets for the NEC today and all I've got to do now is make a list of all I hope to get.
Also received all the info for this years Crafters Companion Craftaganza today so I'm getting really excited, only 8 months to go LOL!
Well better say goodnight now, sweet dreams

Colour Create Challenge 5

I have created this card for the Colour Create challenge 5 which is Brown and Blue, with the option of using lace and pearls. The DT have come up with some very inspiring cards so why not check them out?

The base card is made from brown Bazzill Bling ( I love this colour) and I have used Basic grey papers. The image is a Sugar Nellie and I have coloured it using distress inks. The flowers I got from Joanna Sheen and the lace & pearls are from stash. The sentiment was created in Word and layered onto DP.

Got a busy day tomorrow so don't know if I'll get any cards made. Hubbies got to see his Consultant and then he's getting his new wheelchair which he's been waiting what seems like an age for. I've told him to get a buggy board for me as I have a job keeping up with him these days.

Well off now to do a big of blog hopping.

Another Campa

This is a card I made up rather quickly today as I am a day late sending it. Just layered some Basic Grey papers and mounted the stamped image on top. I aged the edges of the white card with distress ink.Haven't anymore to post today although I have been busy I can't post the pics just yet. Maybe next week. I'm off now to create a card for the Colour Create challenge which this week is blue and brown with optional extras lace and pearls. Why not click on the blinky to see what the DT have come up with. Hopefully I'm also gonna have a go at Wendy's sketch over at CC tonight so I'll be back tomorrow with the fruits of my labour. Oh before I go just like to thank Jacqui, Indicards(Nicki) and Marcsi for becoming followers.
