Jolly St Nick

Over at Tuesday Taggers this week the theme is Jolly St Nick
and what fabulous creations the DT have created to inspire you.
Don't forget that the challenge is sponsored by the fantastic Craft Barn with a £15 voucher for the lucky winner chosen at random. Just post a link to the Craft Barn along with your entry.

My creation is pretty simple this week as I've been a bit pushed for time since I got back from Crafters Companion Craftaganza.  We had a great time up there and there was that much snow up there I half expected we were gonna see St Nick himself.

I layered some nestie labels and added a bit of distress ink to the edges  then added a stamped santa which I had water coloured and stickled.  Bit of a cheat actually because I used the nestie labels that didn't get used at the Craftaganza and that the lovely Claire had spent so much time die cutting, Thanks Claire!

Rock Chick

Hope you are having a good weekend.
I enjoyed Sheena's  show this morning and am looking forward to the one at 12 noon on Create  and Craft.
Not only that Sheena will be at the Craftaganza (Crafter's Companion) that I will be attending from Wednesday until Saturday. I am so excited as we always have a fantastic time.   Jayne Nestorenko will be there too and she is just such a lovely lady and so talented too.

Well I said I'd let you know how I got on with the oven cleaning. Well I must say the Oven Pride bag is fantastic, you just pop the racks in the bag and add the solution,  wait a while  (I left it overnight) and the grease just wipes away. I shall certainly be using it again.

Now here is the card I made for Jessica's birthday.
As soon as I saw this image over at Kenny K digital designs I new it was the one for Jessica's card. She plays the guitar and has gorgeous big eyes and fair hair so it's  perfect.  I coloured the image using copics and the papers  are White Rose Studio.

That's it from me for today, hope to be back tomorrow.

The Calm before the Storm!!

Well today is my gorgeous Granddaughter Jessica's 11th birthday.  Where have the years gone?
She and her friends are going to see the Harry Potter film then off to Pizza hut before having a sleepover. Don't think there'll be much sleeping going on though do you?
I am just taking a bit of me time out before Grandson Elliot arrives. He is too young to go and see the film so is spending the day with us and having a sleepover at our house to keep him out of the girls way. He's been planning the day which includes bowling and McDonalds.

Well here is another card made using Sheena's new stamps

This stamp is so detailed that it looks fabulous without any colouring.  I just stamped it with Archival Sepia pad and cut it out with the Nestie labels 8 die. The sentiment is from the stamp set too.The background paper was made using Cosmic Shimmer sprays and the gorgeous bow is recycled from a Chocolate box. (The chocolates are long gone)
Right well that's  "me time" over, gotta go and finish cleaning the cooker. I bought one of those Oven Cleaning kits with the polythene bag to put the racks in. Now I've got to clean it away without getting myself in a mess!! I'll let you know how successful it is or not.
Bye for now.

As promised

Good Afternoon from a very dull and dismal West  Midlands
I managed to get a couple of Christmas present today so I am feeling a little bit better about it. At least I'm heading in the right direction even if I've got a fair old way to go.  Still got loads of cards to do but I thrive on pressure - NOT!

Well her is the sneak peek of one of the fabulous stamp sets that Sheena Douglass will be launching Sunday 9am and 12 noon on Create and Craft.  If you are going to be busy don't forget to record  the shows because Sheena always shares some fabulous ideas with us.

This is the pub stamp which is absolutely fabulous. I coloured it using distress inks and layered it onto gold  mirri board.  The sentiments are also from the set. The flowers and leaves were cut using my Slice machine (available from Crafters Companion).

If you would like to see more pop over to Sheena's blog to check out her sneak peaks, they are gorgeous.
Have a good weekend everyone and I'll try and post another peek tomorrow.

Love, Pat xx

Footie Fan

This card is one I made for our nephews birthday which was today.  He is a keen West Ham fan hence the football theme.

Recipe :-
Papers - Basic Grey.
Image  & sentiment - Crafter's Companion Men's stamp collection
Distress Inks - Faded Jeans & Fired Brick.

I love these tri-fold cards which have the sentiment on the middle inner section and nestie  labels as the fastener. I had intended to enter this into a challenge but I'm not in the mood for finding one. So if anyone knows of a challenge it would fit please let me know.  Lazy aren't I?

I'll be posting a sneak peek tomorrow of Sheena Douglass's latest stamps which will be on Create & Craft on Sunday at 9am and 12 noon.
See you tomorrow,
Pat xx

Peace, Joy, Love- Tuesday Taggers challenge

Another chance for me to get a Christmas card done as the TT challenge is to include one of the festive words, Peace, Joy, Love.
I decided to get out the Clarity stamp which I picked up at the NEC  and here is the card I created.

I gold embossed the wording and stamped an accompanying image in the centre of the O. The deer images are also from the accompanying set.  I brayered across the corners of the main image and across the ,O having masked the rest of the image, using the Waterfall Big & Juicy pad.  I used the same pad and some cut & dry to add the same colour to the deer squares.
I do hope you'll decide to join us this week and do please pop over to the TT challenge blog to check out the fantastic DT creations.
I'm off to the hairdressers later this morning, not my favourite experience but much better than yesterday's visit to the dentist. Actually it wasn't too bad just a clean and a tiny filling but even so not great.
Have a good day.

A Kind thought.

Pass some KINDNESS

My dear  Blogging friend Ildiko  has passed this fantastic kindness award to me. What a wonderful thought. Thank you so much.

I would like to pass this Kindness to all my loyal followers who I really appreciate. So please dear friends take this button and pass it on.

This Kindness award originates from Paulette's blog and the idea is that we pass on the award and then go to Paulettes blog and tell her who we passed it to. That way we can see how much Kindness is going around and also Paulette will be adding freebies to her blog.

Sunny Monday!

Hi there. Thought I would just stop by and share a card with you that I made for my BIL's birthday last week.

The main image and wording is from a Butterfly Kisses clear collage set that I got from the N.E.C.  I stamped the main image onto acetate that I had coloured using Cosmic shimmer sprays, glitter and tissue paper. The swirls are from a stamp  plate I got from Craft Stamper Magazine when I renewed my subscription.
Well better get myself off the computer and get back in the craft room so that I can get on with some samples that I need to get in the post.
See you tomorrow for the Tuesday Taggers challenge. Talking of challenges don't forget that there is a £30 voucher up for grabs over at the Crafters Companion challenge blog. All you need to do is follow the sketch and you don't even have to use a CC product.

Exciting News.

Just had to stop by and share some fantastic news with you (OK I am a bit late but I've been out all day again) in case you haven't heard.

Congratulations Sara and all the team at Crafters Companion on winning the Small to Medium sized Business of the Year at the National Business Awards in London last night.  Peter Jones and Nick Clegg (who made a speech) were there and David Cameron made a live video link from China. Well done everyone, what a team!

Well I went shopping today determined to get some of my Christmas shopping and did I eck? No!  Couldn't find a bloomin' thing.  At this rate I might have to postpone this year. I haven't even got my cards done.

Sorry no cards today but pop back tomorrow and I might have something to show.

Bye for now

Fantastic Day.

Well I've had a wonderful day out with my daughter and had a fantastic lunch at Purnells restaurant in Birmingham.  It was an amazing experience that I can't wait to repeat.

While I'm here just a little reminder.
Don't forget to join in the challenge over at the Crafters Companion challenge blog. This month Jacqui (Cats Whiskers) has created this fabulous  sketch to follow with the added theme of One for the Girls.

And don't forget that Sara is offering a £30 voucher to a lucky winner drawn at random, so well worth entering isn't it?

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

All that glitters isn't gold!

Tuesday Taggers
Silver, Gold and Purple plus some stamping.
Another week rolls around and it's Ildiko's turn to choose the theme of the TT challenge.

Ildiko would like us to prove that gold and silver do work well together, then add a touch of purple and  stamped image and wow what a sumptuous recipe.

I decided that as I desperately need to get on with the Christmas cards that this was definately the way to go. So without further ado here is my card.

I've had this stamp for years  so haven't got a clue who it's by or where I got it. I stamped it onto some paper that I had made for an earlier challenge using distress inks. Then matted onto silver mirri board. I put some gold mirri through the cuttlebug and layered it all onto some Core'dinations card. The silver greeting is a diecut. The lilac on this photo is irl more purple, honest.
Feeling inspired to join us this week yet? If you need a bit more persuasion please do pop over to the TT challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams creations.

Right, well I'm off out with my daughter today. We are going to try out  Purnell's Michelin Star restaurant in
Birmingham.  My mouth's watering at the thought of it.  I'll let you know if it lived up to my expectations.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs, Pat xx

Taste of the Orient.

Good morning!
Well it's time for the Tuesday Taggers challenge again. Doesn't the time fly?
We had some fantastic Spooky Halloween entries for the last challenge and had great fun visiting the blogs to check them out. Thanks to all who entered.
The theme this week is oriental chosen by our fantastic Zoe.
I haven't used this theme for quite some time so it's nice to have a change.

Quite a simple card which is pretty much self explanatory.  I love the border which was bought from out local garden centre's  silk flower section quite some time ago.
My team mates have come up with  some fantastic designs which I'm sure you'd love to take a look at and I do hope you'll decide to join us for the challenge this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comments which are really appreciated.

Bye for now

November?

Crafters Companion challenge.
Jacqui's  sketch and option of "One for the Girls"

We have a Sketch by Jacqui and an optional theme of “ONE FOR THE GIRLS” for you this week on Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge, Sara has also sponsored us with a £30 voucher to be spent on the Crafters Companion  Website.  So please come and join us you will find the challenge Here.

Here is my take on the challenge
I've used this gogeous image from Jayne Nestorenko's Adorable collection, very aptly named I think!
The image and bow are both from the stamp plates and are coloured using distress inks and the papers are from the CD.

Don't forget that you don't have to use  Crafters Companion products to enter, just follow the Sketch. To find out more just pop over to the challenge blog.
