Tuesday Taggers Challenge

Hi all, well what a dismal day it is here and really blustery too, a day for staying home crafting that's for sure. We are having some work done on the house and there is dust everywhere, even in the bathroom upstairs and the jobs in the lounge downstairs. Looks like I'll be spending tomorrow cleaning aaarrhh!

Right back to the reason for this post. It's Tuesday so that means it's time for another challenge over at Tuesday Taggers. This week the challenge is to create something using a jar or bottle and there's a tutorial to help get your crafting juices flowing. The DT have come up with some great ideas so why not pop over and check them out. To tempt you the challenge this week is sponsord by the Craft Barn who have generously donated a £15 voucher, the winner will be chosen randomly.
Here's my little number.

Sorry the picture's not too good as the light is poor today and I'm working under difficult conditions with the workmen here. Anyway basically I took an old bath oil bottle that I had kept just incase I "needed" it and it's a nice shape. I filled it with some bath oil and added some dried stems to look pretty. I stamped this lovely fairy image (one I got for 50p from Gail of Circa Design) onto silver paper and embossed with ultra fine gold embossing powder. Sorry the picture doesn't show it too well but take my word for it it's pretty. Cut the paper to fit around the bottle and added some silver and gold curling ribbon and a bow from ribbon in my stash.
Well that's it from me for the moment, thanks for stopping by.
Love,
Pat xx

And the answer is..................

Hi all, hope you are having a good weekend, no rain here today yippee!
Well Betty & Anne guessed correctly who the other young lady is on the 60's theme card, drum roll..................
It's Jean (the Shrimp )Shrimpton, well done Betty & Anne.
No cards to post today although I have been creating but not able to post pics yet as they are for another "project".
I managed to pick up a couple of bargains today while I was out at Telford. I got some corner round scissors for £2 and a Fiskars large circle punch for £5. Mind you I spent what I saved if you know what I mean. Popped into Marks just for a look around and came out £100 poorer. I got a corduroy jacket and a lovely jumper so I'm starting to get my Autumn/Winter clobber together, well I'm certainly not buying any summer outfits.
Well off now to print some papers and finish off a couple of cards and then I'm gonna settle down and watch the Xfactor.
Take care,
Love, Pat xx

SIL Birthday card

Hi there hope you are all having a good day. First of all no-one has come up with who the other girl on the card is. The suggestions so far are, Bo Derrick, Sarah Miles and Mary Quant. I'll leave it another day and then put you out of your misery.

Right here is the card that I made for my SIL's birthday today. He reads loads of books so when I saw this bookworm image on Michelle's blog I thought it would be ideal for Stuart. It was downloaded from here Elizabeth O Dulemba. Thanks Michelle for the inspiration.

I coloured the image with copics and layered onto gold mirri. The rest is pretty self explanatory

Well please let me know what you think, I'd really appreciate it and I'll come and visit you.

Bye for now

Guess Who!

Well just looked at the comments on the Tuesday Taggers post and Anne said "Great picture of Twiggy" and that got me thinking. I'd love you to let me know who you think the other sultry lady is. Sorry no prizes, "boo" I hear you cry, but thought it would be a bit of fun. You'll probably all get it right away but we'll see.

Love Pat xx

Tuesday Taggers

Morning all, well I've made an early start today to post my DT creation for the Tuesday Taggers. The theme for this week is all things Retro which can be 60/70/80's or earlier still if that's what suits your style. Don't forget it doesn't have to be a card, basically anything goes, card, tag, box, atc etc etc. We would love for you to join us this week so why not pop over and check out the DT creations and maybe get some inspiration 'cause my fellow DT members have come up with some great stuff.

Here it is............

The paper at the back is retro flowers by Dovecraft, I think. The pictures and the swirly image are all images I found on the net and the brads are from stash. For the 60's I put peeloff numbers onto white card and brushed over with worn lipstick distress ink then removed the peeloffs and voila! That's the only real crafty bit, bit of a print & stick one but having said that I'm pleased with the result. Well it's my era and I loved being young in the 60's.

Ok tha's my take on retro, so let's see yours. Catch you later,

Love, Pat xx

Very productive Monday

Hi, hope you are all having a good day. Well I've been very productive today. First I did the ironing, yes you did read that right! Then went on a tour of DIY stores to get wood and some door fittings, well I've got to keep SIL busy. Got back and and got stuck in to some cardmaking. I've got so many Anniversaries & Birthdays in the next couple of months it's rediculous. The thing is I've got mountains of cards but still feel the need to make more specifically for each person, will I never learn.
Well here are three Anniversary that I've made today..............
I used Basic Grey papers, MS doily punch, shapeability Fleur de Lis Pendant, rubber stamp that I bought for 50p from Circa Design coloured with whispers (in reality flowers are more pink). Rest from stash.
This one is quite a simple card to put together. I used Papermania base card, paper from Crafters Companion luxury envelope pack, shapes cut with Fleur de Lys pendant die, flower from stash, pink stickles dots. Must say althought the pendant die cuts are beautiful they are very difficult to release form the die.
For this one I used basic grey paper, lace paper border, nesties, ribbon & charm from stash and the gorgeous crochet flower courtesy of my dear Blogging friend Betty, thank you Betty. I had been trying to do some myself but my eyes played up so Betty kindly came to my rescue
Well still taking an age to load the piccies but I've learnt to have patience and got there in the end.
Well off now to sort out dinner, sweet & sour pork I think I just fancy that.
Bye for now and thanks for visiting.

And there's more

Hi I'm back again and have managed to load some more of the Popcorn samples. It took a while but I was determined not to be beaten.

Twisted stackerpage topper and matching design paper. The charm was made using printable shrink plastic. I cropped one of the images and opened it in word to print onto the shrink plastic then cooked it in the oven.

This is a flap card, one side opens out the other lifts up. The iamge is stamped and coloured with copics

The image on the calendar was printed onto canvas photo paper and it really does have a lovely texture which you can't see on the photo.

Another stamped image coloured with copics. The paper in the aperture is vellum

A twisterpage image on this one and again a shrink plastic charm. The paper is from the co-ordinated papers but the pattern doesn't show on the pic.

This is a pizza box containing notelets & envelopes

Lid of pizza box

This basket is made from bazzill card with pockets made from images on the CD. Tags added to each pocket. There is also a smaller basket inside too.

I'm sure you'll agree that this is a fantastic collection and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.
Thanks for visiting and if you'd like to leave a comment that would be great and I can I can pop over and visit you.
Love,
Pat xx

At last

Hi, well at last I've managed to upload pictures of some of the card samples I made for the launch of Crafters Companion Popcorn Christmas Collection. It did take a while to do so I'll post some more later. Don't know why I'm having this problem 'cause I'm not doing anything different than I've done before.
Hope you are all having a good weekend, we've had Jessica today so we took her to Telford shopping centre and she got an outfit for her bear from the Bear Factory. When we got back she made biscuits and even did the washing up after.
Well here are the cards..........

How annoying!

Evening everyone, hope you've had a good day. Well I've been trying once again to upload the pictures of my card samples for the Popcorn launch but to no avail. Don't know what the problem is with Mr. Blogger but it is very annoying, hopefully it will get sorted soon.
Hope you enjoyed the Popcorn shows and the lovely creations my fellow DT members have created.
Well I'm off now and I'll try again tomorrow to get some pics loaded.

Popcorn Christmas Collection 9pm

Hi there, well what a day I've had trying to put some pictures of cards that I've made for the launch of Crafters Companion Christmas collection which launches on Create and Craft (671 sky)& Ideal World (644 sky,22 Freeview) at 9pm. I've now given up as it has been taking an age to get them on here and when I finally got the pics up the rest of the post went to pot. I've seen that Jacqui has had trouble with Mr Blogger too today, how annoying.
So I'll try just a couple of pics and maybe try and put more tomorrow.
Enjoy the show and I know that you are gonna love this fantastic collection, if you don't want to spend you'd better get someone to hide the plastic.
Love, Pat xx

Sorry I've had to give up on the pics.

Late post.

Hi, at last I've managed to get back on and post this card that I made earlier for my niece and her husbands anniversary. I was gonna come on here then decided to ring my SIL and an hour and plenty of chat later I've got back on here.

This is quite a simple card using 2 DPs which has a pearly sheen to them. The flowers & ribbon are from stash.

Right back tomorrow,

Goodnight, Pat xx

It's Tuesday and that means Tuesday Taggers challenge

Good morning everyone, hope you are having a good day so far. We've had the little darlings (Grandchildren) overnight and have we had some fun! First of all we made Ben 10 & Hannah Montana shrinkies. Printed the pics onto printable shrink plastic and "cooked" in the oven. The kiddies were please as punch with the results and made a couple into keyrings. Then we got out the Wii and spent the rest of the evening having fun bowling, golfing, skiing, boxing, tight rope walking, aren't we just the most sporting bunch? LOL! This morning we've been baking cakes and Elliot said "Nanny you are a genious, 'cause you know how to to everything", and as you can guess that just made my day.

Right now as it's Tuesday it's time to post my creation for the Tuesday Taggers challenge which this week is Birds & Bees. I won the GD spot for this week before I became a DT member and have really enjoyed the challenge this week. So may I suggest you pop over and check out all the fabulous DT creations and believe me there are some little beauties. I'm sure you'll feel inspired and want to join in, and don't forget you can create anything that takes your fancy and in any style.

Cut the flowers with retro die on the Bug and added gem brad from stash. The watering can in from stash and the sentiment computer generated.

Well hope you like the result and please let me know what you think.

Friday, 7 August 2009

Afternoon everyone hope you are all having a good day. It's quite a nice day here in the West Midlands today so I've been out and cut the front lawn and now I'm n******* so decided to do a little bit of blogging while I recover.

I had a lovely little package today from Betty who has kindly sent me some of the crochet flowers that she's made and I am thrilled to bits. I had been hoping to make some myself but because of the eye problem it was proving difficult. Anyway my very kind friend Betty came to the rescue. Keep a look out as before too long I hope to be posting a little number including some of the crochet flowers. If you haven't visited Betty yet you might like to pop over and visit 'cause she makes some wonderful cards and always has something interesting to say. Thank you Betty.

Sorry I haven't got a card or creation today but I've been busy on a project which is now complete and that I'll be able to display next week. Wish I could manage to fit as much as Jacqui, how she does it all I shall never know.

Well I've had my rest now so I'd better go and and sort the ironing but I might have to make a slight detour via the craft room.
Catch you soon,
Love, Pat xx

Tuesday Taggers - Flowers.

Hi there everyone, hope you're having a good day so far. Wet again here but hey we can get more crafting done.

Well it's Tuesday and that means Tuesday Taggers challenge and this week the topic is flowers. There are no restrictions on what you create along as there are flowers somewhere in the design. As most of us seem to use flowers in our project I don't think this will be too difficult to achieve! Why not pop over and take a look at all the DT fantastic creations and then I'm sure you'll feel inspired and join in this week.

Well here's my little number............

I found a template on my computer that I had scanned in some time ago and decided this challenge was the ideal time to use it. I used basic grey paper for the background edged with brushed corduroy distress ink and for the two larger flower layers which are hand cut. The flower centre was made by stamping (Cute Companions stamp set)onto an odd piece of paper from my box and a jewelled brad added in the centre. The ribbon is from stash. Quite a simple card to make but I'm pleased with the result. Hope you like it too.

Well better go and get some food shopping done , boring!

Catch you later
