Just Magnolia Challenge

Afternoon everyone hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunshine. Did a bit of shopping this morning and spent the rest of the day chilling and cardmaking. Decided it was a bit warm to go rushing around, not often you can say that is it?

The Just Magnolia challenge this week requires us to include an insect or animal on the card which cand either be on the Magnolia stamp or something completely separate. You might want to check out the DT creations as they are as always absolutely fantastic.

I was going to use the Tilda with lamb but I seem to have used that quite a bit lately so decided not to. The Tilda I've used has been coloured with Distress inks. I've used Dovecraft Retro Flowers paper and added an acetate floating butterfly printed from Crafters Companion Love CD (sorry it doesn't show up too well) . The fancy border was cut using the Xcut border system. The flowers are cut using the Cuttlebug die and the braid and pearls are from stash

Just off to check out Wendy's sketch now.

Have a good weekend

Tuesday Taggers.- Go BOLDLY and be BRIGHT

I'm enjoying this challenge from Tuesday Taggers as it takes me out of my comfort zone of just making cards. I get such inspiration from the DT over there as there creations are wonderful and so imaginative.

I got some Cosmic Shimmer mists on Monday and decided to try them out on this challenge. You should see the colour of my hands, will have to wear rubber gloves next time me thinks LOL! I used 4 colours Golden Mint, Midnight blue, Golden fish and Mango blaze and they give a lovely shimmery effect.

The parcels are stamped using CC Occasions stamps and coloured with Whispers and the bee is an odd stamp I had from who knows where. The torn border I found in my bit box and if my memory serves me correct (thats a laugh!) I used a Diane Dorward stencil to emboss and colour it.

The ribbon is by Doodlebus design and the brads are from stash.

Just Magnolia challenge

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good weekend and enjoyed the lovely weather which now seems to have sadly disappeared. We had another good day out yesterday. First we went to Mountain Ash Crafts based at Halfpenny Green Vinyards in Staffordshire. They were demonstrating the Slice so I thought it would give me the chance to check it out. It is very compact and cordless so it doesn't take up much precious space which is a must. Athough it is so small its can cut up to 4" and does a good job. Didn't buy one, needs thinking about. Of course I had to buy something so I got some cosmic shimmer mists which look delish and another distress ink pad. From there we went on to a lovely garden centre called Ashwood Garden nursery, which I would highly recommend to anyone in the area or maybe visiting in the region. The plants are gorgeous and they offer lots of information which is helpful to not so savvy gardeners like me. Most importantly though they have a fantastic cafe, with the most delish cakes and puds which I did resist. OK I did not completely abstein I did succomb to a cheese and pickle toastie which I think must sent my colestoral levels sky high.

Right back to the plot. Here is my creation for the Just Magnolia challenge which this week required us to make a different shaped card

Base card Crafters Companion embossed pearl scored on CC Ultimate Pro. Image coloured with Whispers
DP is basic Grey
Flowers stamped onto basic grey paper
Ribbon and brads from stash

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day,

Great Day!

Just popped on to say I hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather. We've had a drive out to Ludlow today and had a great time. It's such a lovely place and the scenery all around that area is absolutely fabulous. I'm shattered now as it's quite a drive down country lanes, no quick motorway route but really gorgeous views so it was well worth it. I have a card made for the Just Magnolia challenge but wont have time to put it on tonight, I'll try tomorrow. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and make the most of the weather.
Take care and have fun

Launch this week - Tuesday Taggers

Well ladies Oh! and gents well what did I say went to tidy the craft room and what did I do? yes made a tag for the new and brilliant challenge Tuesday Taggers
I'm sure this is going to be very popular as the DT are a great bunch of crafters, so I'm sure we'll have some fun. This is only my second tag, so its not fantastic, but hopefully I'll get better as we go along.

The tag itself is an odd piece from a sheet of card I printed using the new Crafters Companion Cute Summer Stories CD. The spotty paper is an odd piece I had lying around think it's craftwork cards. The cherub and cake images are CC stamps. Ribbon, brad and charm are from stash and sentiment & gems are peeloffs.

Craftroom still needs tidying as does everywhere else in the house, but I've decided I'm not in the mood - again!!

Colour Create challenge - Sky Blue/Tan/Ecru

Hi, hope you are all having a good day and managing to fit in plenty of crafting. I've come to the conclusion that I really do have to have a good tidy in the craft room today. Trouble is I get sidetracked and start playing, I just can't help myself. Anyway I had a little play earlier and came up with this little creation for the Colour Create challenge which this week is Sky Blue. Tan and Ecru. Pop over and check out the DT creations for inspiration 'cause they are fab!!

The base card is Papermania and the papers are Papermania and Cardcraft Cards. The image is Penny Black coloured with Distress inks on Nestie labels. The flower is Flora Doodles from Joanna Sheen and all the other bits & bobs are from stash. I really like this colour combo as it is fresh and clean looking which I like.

I may be back later depending on how the "Tidying" goes.

Hugs, Pat xx

Wendy's sketch challenge

Good morning all. Well the weather is looking promising here, so hopefully NO MORE RAIN!

I've had this card made for a couple of days but haven't got around to posting it on here. Just haven't been in computer mode the last few days, so I thought I'd make an early start before I loose my mojo again.

The base card is darkish blue pearl. The back layer I coloured with distress inks and stamped onto it with a leaf design stamp from a set I got sometime ago from the late Craft Central. The next layer is Basic Grey. I used a fancy doily from stash and cut two nesties. The stamped image is Lola with flowers coloured with distress inks. The ribbon and sentiment are from stash.

Well it's my Mums birthday today so we are off out for lunch. We are going to Amerton farm where they have a lovely garden centre, gift shop and playbarn (I think we'll give that a miss today LOL!). Oh and also a lovely bakers and gorgeous celebration cake shop which I always have to visit to admire the creations and get some yummy sweets that they sell. Sadly there is no craft shop Boo Hoo!

Have a good day, hugs, Pat xx

Nothing to show today

Well I've no creations to post today although I've spent most of the day cardmaking. The cards that I have been working on were quite time consuming but the end result I think are worth it. Unfortunately I can't post the pics until after the weekend but will try and get them on here on Monday.
It's been a right miserable day here today weatherwise but at least I didn't feel so guilty spending all that time in the craft room. If it had been nice I would have had to finish staining the fence. I got some lawn treatment this morning that stops the grass growing so quickly and hopefully it will work. Goodness knows how it works but I live in hope, watch this space.
Sorry I haven't got anything more interesting to tell you today, hopefully I'll be back tomorrow to make up for it!
Take care

A lovely award from Yvonne

I have received this lovely award from Yvonne who really is a fantastic blogger. If you haven't visited her before please pop over and see her and I know you'll be glad you did. She makes some fantastic cards and "things" and is a great mate to so many of us bloggers, leaving kind and very often humourous comments. Thank you so much Yvonne.

I'd like to pass this on to the DT from Colour Create challenge who do some fantastic creations and give us great inspiration. They always stop by and leave kind comments which I greatly appreciate. Also I am going to pass this on to Jessica who loves to check out my blog and now has a blog of her very own.

Colour Create challenge

Hi everyone hope you've had a good day. It's been a lovely day here, a little bit on the windy side but otherwise very nice. I've spent all day in the garden. Went out to cut the lawn and ended up cutting back shrubs, weeding and staining the fence. Then I took some rubbish to the waste site. Hard work but I felt I had really achieved something so it was worth while.

Now the card I made for the Colour Create challenge, which is to use Green and Blue with the option of paper piecing. I decided to combine this challenge with Wendy's sketch.

The base card is made from Bazzill Bling. The layers are blue bazzill, the circles and squares design is cut from Papermania cards and the gingham is from Crafters Companion's Cute Companions by Jayne Nestorenko. The cute little mouse is also from the Cute Companions stamps and I pieced the dress and present. The flower is mountboard triple embossed with cosmic shimmer embossing powders (sorry can't remember which colours as it was made some time ago). The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the ribbon and brad from stash.

Thank you for visiting and please come back again soon.

Just Magnolia challenge 4

Good morning all. I was up early this morning so thought I would crack on with the Just Magnolia challenge. The challenge this week is to include some stitching, either authentic or faux, on your card. The design team have come up with some fantastic creations to inspire us.

I used a scalloped edge black base card and added gold dots.
DP is Basic Grey
Image of course is Tilda with lamb coloured using Whispers brush pens and Tombow blending pen. I shaded the edges using a distress pad and did some faux stitching around the edge.
The flowers are cut using my new die for the Cuttlebug.
The brads and ribbon and braid are from stash and the sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Off to check out Wendy's sketch challenge now.
Catch you later. Do have a good day and thanks for visiting me.

Hugs, Pat xx

My day so far.

Hi all, Well hubby and I had a ride out to a garden centre today and the nearest thing I got to anything to put in the garden was a cuttlebug flower die. You've got it there's a craft department there, yipee! I also got some braid and some scalloped edge cards. When we got back I installed my new scanner and scanned in the card I had made for Wendy's sketch challenge, another card done at the last minute, what am I like. Well here it is but the pics not too good don't think the scanner liked the shiny paper. I made the base card from some pearlised lilac card from Crafters Companion, the panels are from the CC luxury envelope paper pack. The main image was supplied by Wendy although originally black and white. I changed the colour and created a pyramage topper. I cut the fancy edge using the Xcut border system.
Well I'm off to play now, may catch you later. Oh before I go congrats to Yvonne Nash for winning the Just Magnolia challenge this week.

Better late than never

Well I eventually got around to finishing my card for the Just Magnolia challenge. I kept getting sidetracked this week but was determined to get this card done.
The base card is green bazzill bling. The patterned paper is Dovecraft retro flowers. The swirl is a sizzix die cut on Cuttlebug. The scalloped frame is cut on Cuttlebug using Nestie. The large flower is a chipboard blank, triple embossed using Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder with micro beads added, sorry can't remember which shades as I made it some time ago. The other flowers are punched with red stickles centres. The ribbon, lace, brad and sequins are from stash.
Tilda has been coloured with Whispers brush pens and Tombow blending pen and attached with foam pads. Unfortunately the colours I've used for Tilda aren't showing up too well on the picture which is a shame.
I am really pleased with this card but unfortunately the picture doesn't do it justice.
Well I have really enjoyed this challenge and can't wait for the next. There's some great inspiration from the DT so if you haven't checked it out yet don't delay, pop over and have a look.
Off to catch up on some blog hopping.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love, Pat xx

One I made yesterday

Hi everyone, what a lovely sunny evening we have here although it's getting a little breezy but it's lovely to see the sun.
Well I used one of the Pink Gem stamps, flowery Mimi, again that I bought at the weekend and they really are cute and lovely to stamp.
The base card is lilac pearl onto which I layered some Papermania paper. I coloured the image with Whispers brush pens and a tombow blending pen. I did some faux stitching around the edge and matted onto some lilac glitter board. The flower, ribbon and gems are from stash and the butterfly and daisies are peeloffs.
Thanks for visiting,
Love, Pat xx

Colour Create Challenge - Red, Cream, Chocolate

Happy bank holiday Monday everyone and hope the weather is a bit brighter where you are. It's dull and a bit chilly here so a good day for staying put and crafting. Got the Grandchildren this afternoon and Jessica has the time planned, we are going to make her a blog. Granddad will have to play Ben 10 with Elliot, he'll really enjoy that LOL!

Well yesterday Jessica and myself went to Mountain Ash Crafts to see Jayne Nestorenko and spend some money. It was lovely to see Jayne demonstrating as she has such a lovely way about her and everyone was enthralled at her work. Jessica took her card (see earlier post) that she had made and some chocolate mice which of course Jayne couldn't wait to eat. Jessica bought some fairy decoupage and designer papers plus some lovely ribbons (shares my ribbon passion obviously) and I got three Pink Gem stamps, one of which I've used on the Colour Create challenge which this week is Red,cream, chocolate, check out the yummy picture on the CC blog.

The card base is made from some embossed brown card from Crafters companion (they do some lovely card packs ) and I cut away the top right corner to show the Basic grey Boxer paper inside. The image is a Pink gem stamp Flowery Mimi coloured using Whispers brush pens, the edges softened with red using cut and dry and matted onto some basic grey paper. The brown and cream paper on the front is Papermania. The flower is a Flora Doodles with a punched out large and small flower layered on top. The red ribbon is from stash and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. The little gems are just peeloffs.
Thank you for visiting me today I really appreciate it and if you leave a comment I'll be able to pop over and visit you.
Hugs, Pat xx
