February tomorrow !!!!!

Hi there, can't believe that January is almost over, where has the time gone? They say time flys when you are enjoying yourself don't they

Thought I would post some cards that I've managed to get done this week between samples for Crafters Companion.

This one was quite a simple card to make once I had created the backing papers using pearl paints and brilliance inkpads. The gorgeous patterned luxury paper is by CC as is the flower stamp. The ribbon is from stash. Photo does not do this card justice.

I've used the Cute Companion stamps from Crafters Companion for this 40th birthday card for my niece. The numbers are stamped onto more card that I created with the pearl paints. I added a bit of sparkle with Sakura stardust pens. I stamped and coloured the mice on white card and stamped out the clothes on paper from the Cute Companions CD. The base card is pearlescent from CC with mirri board layered in the centre. The card shape is one I designed myself and has an art deco look about it. This card shape is particularly good for showing off decoupage designs.

I love the Sarah Kay stamps as I've said before, and in particular this design. I stamped the image using Versafine which doesn't run when watercolouring and used some pearl paints which are similar to H2O's but much cheaper from The Works. I've layered the image onto green pearl card which was then layered onto some basic grey brown paper. The backing paper is by Papermania, the ribbon from stash, the highlights on flowers are peeloffs as is the greeting which has been coloured using peel-off pens. The flowers I bought from Joanna Sheen's shop

Well don't forget to say Rabbits in the morning

Back soon

Luv Pat x

Crafters Companion Love CD samples

Hi, Hope you had a good weekend and are recharged for the week ahead.
Thought I would just post some piccies of a few cards I designed for Crafters Companion afters using the Love CD’s that were featured on CC tonight. Hope you like them.

This one is a star type book when opened. I used the colouriser feature to print the 5 explosion inserts. The hearts are printed from the toppers section, the backing paper is from the design sets via the colouriser and the letters from the alphabet section. The ribbon and jewels from stash.

This next one is a squash book. The card itself is printed on both sides using the design set section of the cd’s as is the matted layer. The hearts are stamped and embossed using the love stamp set. Ribbon from stash. Sorry no pics of the inside.

I used the Ultimate Pro from Crafters Companion to emboss the gold butterfly and the floral centre section. The smaller butterfly and the border is from the toppers section and stands proud of the card by attaching it with acetate. Ribbon and beads from stash. Sorry about the glare the bottom of the card is gold not silver.

The next card has an opening topper which reveals two stamped hearts which again are attached using acetate to make them stand proud. I uses Bazzill card for the card itself, the backing paper is from the design sets and the letters from the alphabets section.

Finally I’m posting a picture of a more simple design card but it’s one I really like myself. All the papers are from the Love CD’s. The blue and purple are from the contrast paper section and I’ve stamped onto the purple using the same rubber stamp that I have used for the blue silver embossed heart. The small heart design paper is from the design sets and the wording is cut from a sheet of text paper from the CD.

Craft room blitz

I've been a busy little bee today, giving my craft room a much needed early spring clean. I've been reorganising everything but made sure I labelled the drawers 'cause the way my memory is these days I'd never know where to find anything.
It's amazing how many things you come across that you forgot you had. Don't know how long it will stay organised but I'll try LOL
I've been busy this week doing samples for Crafters Companion show next Monday on C&C. I'm pleased with the results although it does result in chaos in the craft room.
Well it's all tidy now ready for me to start the next batch of samples for next month.

Cookie trouble

Well good morning, I should be tucked up nicely in my bed cause I've got an early start in the morning but what started out as a quick blog visit ended up a real chore. Last night I changed my cookies setting and hence I couldn't sign in. Well I'm not that computer savvy but anyway I've managed to sort it, something new I've learnt so can't be bad. Must say I'd rather have a double chocolate chip anyday!

First Sara Kay card

Hi, Well I've managed to get a picy of my latest card using my new camera. I've had too many new gadgets lately and to be honest I'm struggling to get my head around them all. One at a time I can cope with, but new laptop, dvd recorder, camera and picture frame is a bit much for the old grey matter these days. I shouldn't complain as I know I'm lucky to have been bought them. I'll get there eventually LOL.
Well back to the card. The image is a Sarah Kay, I just love them, and for the leafey edges I used a stamp from a very cheap set of approx 12 (about £2) I got from Craft Central (before they closed) the backing papers are basic grey. The lacey edges where cut from Crafters Companion papers using the Xcut border system. The flowers I cut from the backing paper and layered onto punched daisies. The ribbon from stash.
The Sara Kay designs are what got me started in decoupage about 29 years ago. The designs were favourites on gift wrap and made ideal images for the decoupage. Those of you of a certain age may recall this!
Have a good day.

Trying to get up to date

I have at last got around to posting a Christmas slide show! I had intended to do this before Christmas but hey ho time was short. Here is a Get Well card I made for my Uncle who is recovering from surgery. I used a stamp by Little Claire and the papers are basic grey. I have a Sarah Kay card I want to post but at the moment I'm getting to grips with a new camera. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow!
