Well we are back from a lovely holiday in Felpham,West Sussex. I love this place as we have a house on the sea front and it is lovely just to sit and watch the world go by. The weather was kind to us and it was lovely to have the company of our Daughter, SIL and Grandchildren.

Anyway without further ado here is the card that was commissioned by a friend for her daughter's 30th birthday which was today.

I embossed the blue card using a Sue Wilson folder then added a touch of gold gilding wax to the raised areas. I cut the butterflies using a Sue Wilson die then embossed them with some Wow glitter embossing powder. The image is taken from part of an Indigo Blu stamp and I layered it onto card which I had also embossed with the glitter embossing powder.

I have recently started an Art Journal, something I have thought about doing for quite a while. So here are my first two pages.

I have really enjoyed my first attempts and found it so relaxing just going with the flow. I really believe this could become addictive, if I can only find the time that is.

Kind regards

Flaming June?

Flaming June? Here's hoping but it's not started too well has it?
Apparently things are going to get better tomorrow so I shall live in hope.
In the meantime here are a few makes from the past week or so.

This first one is an  Ikea mirror decorated with Gorjuss girl papers, a bit of dry embossing and diecutting.
I stamped and coloured the image using copics, although the colours are more vibrant in real life.

I think my liking for these Gorjuss girl stamps has become evident lately. I coloured her with copics again for this card and used a spellbinders embossing folder for the backing and Sue Wilson dies for the flowers.

I took inspiration for this card from one I saw in CS magazine. I used Spellbinder embossing folder, DI's and some stamps I've had for quite a while

Finally I've paper pieced this lovely Julie Nutting doll. The border was embossed using one of Sue Wilson's pin point embossing folder.

Well until the next time,
Bye for now

Two pretty girls

Has a lovely weekend. Friday night out for a meal with my bessie mates which was lovely. Saturday night reunion with my workmates going back 26years. Sunday out to lunch with my son , daughter in law and her parents as an early celebration for their birthdays which are tomorrow.

Now a couple of cards I made last week.
For the first one I dug out one of my older stamps, Elizabeth Bell I think, and coloured it with copics.
I used Spellbinder dies for the mats and Sue Wilson dies for the leaves and flowers

For the second one I used one of the Clarity stencils, stamps (dog) and Distress Inks. The background is an acrylic gelli plate print.

Well that's about it from me today.
Until the next time

The sunshine before the snow!

Here are a couple of projects that I have created in 2015

I treated myself to Sue Wilson's Butterfly dies last week from Sunrise Crafts. They are quite local to me but I decided to order online this time and I got them next day with free p and p which can't be bad. By the way they have 10% off Sue Wilson Dies at the moment.
Anyway I used centura pearl for the card base and stencilled the leaves and flowers using the left behind card from diecutting Sue Wilson leaves and flowers. I coloured with Seedless preserve and peeled paint distress inks with a touch of freyed burlap to add a bit of shading. I added a bit of shadow using a grey polychromos pencil. For the butterfly I coloured some of the card with the same DI and cut out the die, pretty isn't it? Just finished the edges with doodled lines. Words from a JOFY stamp set.

Now the canvas. I coloured it  by mixing some acrylic paints. Stenciled the swirls using a Clarity stencil with broken china and tea die DI. Used gilding flakes around the edges. Layered on some flowers which I had stamped and gold embossed on parchment. Added Sue Wilson leaf diecut from card coloured with the same DI,a punched butterfly and words cut on my Slice.

Oh dear just looked up and it's snowing, was lovely sunshine when I started this post. Hope it doesn't stick!
Have a good week
Thanks for looking
