Going back to my roots

Just thought I'd share a pretty glittery card with you today.
What seems like light years ago I was really into Medallion stamps and glitter. Well it was all down to the lovely Jayne Nestorenko and the amazing demos she used to do on C&C.  I have never lost the love of them so decided to get out the glitter again after Jayne gave me a lovely medallion stamp for Christmas. So I've been as happy as a pig in muck this morning and there is glitter everywhere. I'm going to try out some other techniques using the stamps so watch this space. It's such a shame that we don't see Jayne on C&C very often these days

Sorry the glitter and mirri board haven't shown up too well.

As I'm sitting typing this John has just brought me todays post (rather late post I might add) and it's my Craft Stamper magazine. So guess what I'm gonna be doing when I finish on here! Ooh the free stamp is by The Octopode Factory, brilliant.

Tonight we are going wine tasting for Jonathan's wedding, well let's get that right I'm driving and they are wine tasting but we will be having a meal so that's OK.

Bye for now,

New Year, new start

Hi there dear bloggers.
No creation from me for the Try it on Tuesday challenge this week as I have stepped down from the team. I have absolutely loved being part of the DT with such fantastic and talented designers but decided I need to spend less time blogging as I have family committments which I have to put first.
I shall still be crafting but as and when I have the time and I shall still  keep following the TioT challenge to get some inspiration from the team as they come up with some brilliant ideas.
I believe that there are going to be some changes to the TioT challenge shortly so keep checking the blog to find out what's instore.

Well speaking of family commitments I had a bit of a scare this morning. As you may know hubby John has MS and this morning had quite a funny turn. I had to get the paramedics out but thankfully he is quite a bit better now. They checked him over and gradually he began to improve so  we believe it may have been a TIA (mini stroke). He's had a couple of these episodes in the past and they last about 30 mins which I believe is what happens. We had a good year 2011 with no emergency hospital visits so hope todays episode doesn't mean 2012 is going to be the start of a bad one.

Well that's it from me for today. I'll try to get back with a card soon.
Hugs

All your own work.

As the title says the first challenge of 2012 for Try it on Tuesday is to create a card with the theme of all your own work.  No printed papers or ready made embellishments, everything on the card needs to be created by you.
So I decided to take the less is more idea and stamp directly to the card. I love this simple style but I think it's more difficult to achieve than it would first appear. I think I need a bit more practice and am definately going to be spending more time perfecting this style as I really do like the simplicity of this type of card.

I used post it notes to mask off a section of the card then coloured the aperture using DI and a blending block. I then stamped the image directly over the panel using another post it to mask off the bottom of the card so that I could stamp at different heights. I put redline tape around the four sides and added gilding flakes.
I do hope you will take the time to visit the TioT challenge blog and check out the rest of the teams creations then hopefully decide to join us for the challenge.

Well I'm going to try and get myself back to a sort of normality after all the festivities. Wish me luck.
Thank you for stopping by,
Pat xx
