Alter it - Transform a can

Oh dearie, dearie I'm late again with my DT piece for this weeks challenge at Try it on Tuesday. I really must do better. I'm afraid I've been trying to get a lot of my shopping done online which has eaten into my blogging time. Well if you are trying to find something you can't just get it from the first site can you? You have to trawl around for the best price. At least it's better than trawling the crowded shops which I hate.
I had intended to upload my creation this morning but ran out of time before we went out for the day.  We had a lovely day out visiting my lovely friend Jayne Nestorenko and she took us to a fabulous garden centre for tea and a good old chinwag.
So here is my transformed can. It was meant to be a bean can but I used a Pepsi can.

I covered the can with white tissue paper (If I'd had a roll of cotton wool I'd have used that). Used a silver bauble for the head as I didn't have a white one.  I used buttons for buttons!! Beads for the eyes and nose. The hat is a doctored ribbon spool coloured with acrylic paint.
The challenge is sponsored this week by our good friends at the Craft Barn who are donating a £15 voucher to spend on their fabulous website. So if you decide to join us don't forget to put a link in your post.
As you would expect the DT have done some great transformations to get you inspired so please do check them out.
Thank you for stopping by today

Honey I shrunk the plastic!

Sorry I'm a bit late today with my Try it on Tuesday challenge creation.
John had an early appointment at the hospital for a routine check up and I didn't get around to scheduling the post.
Anyway better late than ever here is my card.

It's a wild card challenge this week with the theme of using shrink plastic on whatever you decide to create.
I chose a card because I really need to get some more Christmas cards made. I cut out the stamped shrink plastic image using a nestie and "cooked"  it in the oven after my heat gun attempt didn't provide a good enough result. I made up an aperture card using nesties and the grand calibre. The flourish is a spellbinders. The paper is My Minds Eye. I was happy with the result so made up a few similar ones yesterday to boost my stock.
Hope you decide to join us and have some fun shrinking some plastic. If you need some inspiration please pay a visit to the challenge blog to check out the fabulous DT creations.

I'm off now to get some more Christmas cards done while I'm in the mood.
Thank you for visiting and enjoy the rest of the day.

Anything Goes- Wish you were here.

When I saw what this weeks challenge was at Try it on Tuesday the first thing that sprang to mind was holidays but then I thought about it a little bit longer and decided that at this time of year there is one person that we are all looking forward to arriving and of course that has to be Santa. Hence the theme of my card.
Of course if you decide to join us this week you  don't have to make a card it can be anything that takes your fancy as long as it fits the theme or should I say your take on the theme.

I used the fantastic Adorable stamps by the wonderful Jayne Nestorenko and coloured the image with Copics. The sentiment is also from the set. The papers are from Bo Bunny.
If you would like some inspiration to get your juices flowing for the challenge  please visit the TioT challenge blog as my fellow DT members have come up trumps again with  some fantastic creations.

I'm entering this card in the
Make my Monday challenge - emphasis on  the sentiment.
Cup Cake Craft challenge - Two's company

As always thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving your kind comments which are so much appreciated.

Peeloffs grrrrrrrrrrr!

Good morning one and all. Well what a dull and dismal day it is here in the West Midlands. A perfect day for staying indoors and doing what we all love best a bit of crafting. But that's not what I'm doing today. We are off to Cosford Air Museum to check out some WAVs (Wheelchair AccessibleVehicles). We have a Kangoo at the moment which we love but thought we would check out whats new.

So before we set off I'd better let you know what's happening over at the Try it on Tuesday challenge blog. Well this week we are making tags using those blessed peeloffs.  To be honest I got myself a bit confused this week (what's new? I hear you cry). Got so carried away trying to get inspiration with the peeloffs that I created a card not a tag so had to rush around to get the tag made.  Anyway the card had a purpose and was sent to my SIL for her 70th birthday.
Here's the tag

I guess you can see what I've done for the background. Put some flower peeloffs on the card and coloured over the top with DI then removed the peeloffs. For the dragonflies I coated some card with flitter glue, added some gilding flakes and then placed on the dragonfly peeloffs and cut them out.

Here's the card.

I created the background in the same way using dragonfly peeloffs. But the larger dragonflies are the see through shimmer type so I was able to add the gilding flakes directly to the back of them. I created the gilded border using the red DS tape and adding the gilding flakes. Simple but very effective in real life. Actually the backing paper is purple not blue and looks stunning with the gilding.
Well better get off. It's taken me an age to get these photos uploaded so now I'm running behind.
Don't forget to take a look at what the DT members have created over on the challenge blog and who knows you might want to see just how creative you can be with your redundant peeloffs.
Thank you for stopping by

Unusual card shape.

This week for the Try it on Tuesday challenge we are wanting unusual card shapes.  I decided to decorate  a boot shaped card.

I used a Crafty Individuals crackle effect stamp to create the background effect. I punched holes down the edge, added buttons then wove ribbon through as the laces. The top cuff was made from brown core'dinations and an MS punch was used along the edge. The lace is  self adhesive that I had in my stash. I used more brown core'dinations for the heel and added gold highlights (not showing up on the photo) with the dreaded peel offs.

There are some fabulous shaped cards over on the Try it on Tuesday challenge blog that have been created by our fantastic DT. Please do go and check them out and I'm sure you'll find a card shape that takes your fancy. We'd love to see your unusual shaped card too.

As always thank you for visiting me today and I really do appreciate it.
