Try it on Tuesday - Alter a tin.

Hope everyone enjoyed the Easter break and the lovely sunny weather.
We had visitors up from London, my brother in law and his wife which was really lovely as we don't get to see them as often as we would like.

Now on to this weeks challenge over at Try it on Tuesday. The challenge this week is chosen by my good self and it's to alter a tin.  When I made a start on my project I began to wonder why I had made this my choice. I had loads of tins lying about but what to do with them.

This is the tin I decided to

alter and here it is transformed

I stamped onto some lilac velum using a Crafty Individuals swirl stamp and the Mountain Meadow Big and Juicy pad. I cut a panel to fit the side and then some nestie layers to create the flower. I coloured the edge of the lid using a Copic marker. Added some ribbon brad and heart trimmings, all from my stash.

The challenge this week is sponsored by our good friends at the Craft Barn, so to be in with a chance of winning their voucher don't forget to give them a mention and link them in your post.
So please do visit the TioT challenge blog to get some inspiration and I look forward to seeing the fabulous creations that our fantastic followers come up with.
Thank you so much for visiting today and I hope you have a good day even though the sun has made an exit.

A bit of upcycling!

It's Tuesday again, where do the days go?
This week for the Try it on Tuesday challenge
you can create anything you like using the theme of UPCYCLING in other words we'd like you to recycle something or things.

This is how my card started out .

 An old paper bag

Orange net bag and an odd piece of corrugated card.

The end result.

I coloured the piece of card using a mask and Vintage Paper Distress Ink.
Cut the border panel from an odd piece of Core'dinations using an MS punch
Created the flower from the paper bag using a Spellbinders die and edged the layers with Spiced Marmalade DI
Stamped the sentiment onto a piece of the paper bag and trimmed.
Created the bow using the net bag.

Please pop over to the challenge blog to check out the DT fabulous creations and to get some ideas. Do hope you decide to join us this week, that would be great.
Have a good day,

An Easter Basket Tutorial

Hi there dear friends. Hope you have had a good weekend and enjoyed the lovely sunshine.

Thought I would just pop on to let you know that I have created an Easter Basket Tutorial which is on the Crafters Companion News Views and Inspiration blog.

I originally made one of these baskets from a shoe box for one of our challenges over at Tuesday Taggers but I felt sure I could create one from scratch using my Crafters Companion Ulltimate pro.  I must point out the the little chocolate eggs have long gone and will have to be replaced!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon. xxx

Red, Cream & Black

Afraid my being organised and planning ahead has gone out of the window this week and I've only just  managed to get my tag completed for the Try it on Tuesday challenge this week. Oh well it lasted 3 months, well just about, so that can't be bad.

This week the challenge to create a TAG has been set by our birthday girl Emma and she would like us to use Red, Cream and Black on your TAG.  Not only that Emma is sponsoring the challenge this week by offering a £15 voucher to spend in the Stampin Up Catalogue and that sounds good to me! Thank you Emma and enjoy your Birthday on the 18th.

Here's what I came up with

I ran a piece of red Core'dinations card through the Cuttlebug then sanded it (which doesn't show up too well on the photo) and layered it onto some cream centura pearl card.  I stamped the cat from the Daisy & Dandelion Halloween set with Momento ink and coloured it with copics. The ribbon and candy are from my stash.
Please pop over to the TioT challenge blog to see what my fellow teamies have come up with. I'm sure you'll feel inspired enough to join us this week and if you do please remember to link back to Emma's blog in order to qualify for the random prize draw.
I'm off now to take John to Physio so I'd better get moving.
Bye for now

Inspiration from your home.

Hope you all had a good Mothers Day and got spoilt rotten.  I had some lovely gifts Cupcakes, Chocolates, Flowers,  a gorgeous box of smellies but best of all the company of my two wonderful children their partners, my two gorgeous grandchildren and my Mum,perfect!

For our challenge at Try it on Tuesday this week we'd like you to create a Card and share with us something from your home as inspiration for the design.  I wouldn't say we are nosey just a little bit inquisitive.  The challenge is sponsored this week by One Stop Card Crafts and to be in with a chance of winning their £10 voucher you must link them in your post.

My inspiration came from the bed in the spare bedroom. Mind you don't look too closely as the bedlinen looks a bit "distressed".

I used a mask and Faded Jeans distress ink to create the diamond background then used Vintage Photo DI around the edges.  The stamp is by Crafty Individuals CI-069 stamped using Momento Espresso and edges with Faded jeans DI then stickled around the edges. The flower, gems and lace are from my stash.

We do hope you'll join us this week, so please take a look at the fabulous DT creations over on the challenge blog to get some ideas.

Enjoy your day,and thanks for stopping by,

Aqua & Brown

A quarter of the way into the year, where does the time go?
So a new month means a new challenge over at the Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge Blog.
This month we'd  like you to use the colours Aqua and Brown which is one of my favourite colour combos.

I decided to use the fabulous Patchwork Polly stamps by the lovely Jayne Nestorenko, for my card. By the way there is a great offer on these stamps at the moment. All the images are from the stamp collection. I used Momento ink to stamp them and coloured them with Copics.  The spotty background is some from my stash and the brown card Core'dinations which is available from Crafters Companion.

To find out more about the challenge and to check out the amazing DT creations please stop by the Challenge blog.

Well have a lovely day and don't get caught out as an April fool!

Hugs,
Pat xxx
