It's Tuesday Taggers Day and there's a prize!

Hi there, it's Tuesday Taggers challenge day and this week the challenge is to create a Wall Hanging. I decided to get out of my comfort zone with this one and took the bull by the horn and got stuck in and do something different for me. The DT have come up with a varied selection of brilliant creations. Please pop over and take a look and even better why not join in you'll be made very welcome, and there's a £15 prize to be won donated by the Craft Barn.

Sorry the picture isn't too good, just as I was about to take the piccy it went very dark outside and the heavens opened, not good for this very amateur photographer. Anyway I've tried my best to improve the picture but it doesn't show the creation off to it's best.

Here's what I did.......

Took a piece of corrugated card and left the smooth layer on. Using cut & dry I added distress inks, brushed corduroy, worn lipstick, peeled paint & faded jeans randomly. I oversprayed with gold spray glitter by Crafters Companion. I took a piece of mesh braid & sprayed this with the gold glitter spray and attached it with Stick & Spray by Crafters Companion. By this time I was high as a kite from all the spray in the air - only joking!

I brayered a piece of card with a big & juicy pad and tore the edges & distressed with the inks. I then stamped a Michael Powell stamp onto it using Sepia Archival ink pad. Attached it with more spray adhesive. wooooooooooooo!

I attached some stringy twine, that I found in my stash , down the edge and added some beads.

I gathered some organza fabric to create a flower and added a diecut flower and button to the centre. The stem was created with some chain from stash and the leaves are gems also from stash. I added a ribbon slider, from stash,to the top corner.

Well better go now as I've some blog hopping to do and some pics to load to Jessica's blog. She stayed over last night and was very industious in the craft room. I've also got a lot of samples to get done, oh and the ironing but I think I'll forget that, again!

happy crafting

Colour Create Challenge - Blue & White

Hi, hope you've had a good day. I spent half of it playing taxi driver. Firstly John to physio, then off to pick up Elliot. Back to pick up John then off again to collect Jessica from her swimming class. Back to our house for a couple of hours then off again to take them back to where I started at the Leisure centre for the mask making session. When I got back Iwas good for nothing except watching C&C although I did summon up enough energy to order some CD's.

I have just managed to complete my card for the Colour Create challenge which I intended to do earlier. The DT have made up some great creations to give us inspiration and it's definately worth checking them out.

I used blue pearl card for the base. The DP is Basic Grey Granola. I put blue pearl card through the Cuttlebug and edged this panel with a self adhesive lace border. The image is Rope Swing by Elisabeth Bell for Sugar Nellie and coloured with my new copics which I am loving. I love this stamp, it's one of my all time favourites. I made up the flowers from diecuts and paper roses. Ribbon & gems from stash.

Hope to be back tomorrow, until then bye bye.

Love, Pat xx

Tuesday Taggers

I'm on the ball this week with the Tuesday Taggers challenge, it's only Wednesday and I'm done. This weeks challenge is to include swirls and curls on your creation and the DT have come up with some great designs to give us all inspiration.

I decided to make a tag this week. I covered the tag with Papermania paper and coloured some of the flowers with H2Os. I coloured the Gorjuss girl with my fabulous new copics. I made a curl of purple wire and added a flower and ribbon from stash.

Well before I go just want to let you know that I won the TT challenge last week to be Guest Designer and I'm so excited. So watch this space or should I say Tuesday Taggers blog to see what I come up with. Thanks everyone at TT.

Have a good evening,

Love, Pat xx

That was quick wasn't it, but I must thank Linda for giving me this wonderful award which I really appreciate and feel honoured that she chose me. Linda is a great blogging friend, always so supporting and she is a very talented lady to boot.
I would like to pass it on to :-
Jacqui

Michelle
Janet

I have so many blogging friends that I would like any of you that visit to take this award as I really do appreciate your support.

Tuesday Taggers

Good morning everyone, hope it's nice and sunny wherever you are as it is here, well at the moment anyway. Makes you feel so good when the sun shines doesn't it.

I've just popped on to post my creation for the Tuesday Taggers challenge (link in the sidebar).

The brief this week is to include texture in whatever you want to make, be it a card, tag, inchie, atc etc.

I decided to make a card and I used a handbag image that I downloaded from Sketching Stamper. If you haven't already done so you might want to check out the great designs

For the texture I added Bedazzles to the bag and a gem for the clasp. I distressed around the edges using brushed cordoroy distress ink and layered onto gold glitter card. The bp is created in word as is the sentiment. The ribbon I found in my stash and if I recall was salvaged from an old Chrissie card. The base embossed card is by Crafters Companion.

It's a pity that you can't get the sparkly effect in a photo 'cause it does look really pretty.

Have a good day, I'm gonna be busy crafting all day as I've a lot to get done! All to be revealed at a future date.

Hugs,

Pat xx

A quick hello

Hello, hope you are having a good weekend. I haven't any cards to post today although I have been busy crafting. I treated myself to the copics I had resisted for so long. I am so glad I gave in to temptation because they are brilliant as so many of you know. So I have been playing colouring in and it's been fun. I ordered them on Thursday afternoon from Graphics Direct and they arrived Friday morning, such great service. I needed Momento ink pads to go with them and ordered them from Glitterpot Friday afternoon and they arrived Saturday morning, more great service. So I would like to give both these companies a dove award, coooo, coooo. Those of you who live in the West Midlands will know where I'm coming from but the rest of you will probably think I'm crazy and you could well be right.
I'm gonna be very busy for the next few weeks but I will try and enter some challenges and get around the blogs when I can.
Enjoy whats left of the weekend,
Love

Wooohooo!!!!

Afternoon everyone from a very excited me! Postman delivered my Spellbinders Shapeability Fleur de Lys pendant this morning and I couldn't wait to give it a go. I only ordered it on Sunday from Once Upon a Stamp so that's excellent service once again from them and a great price too.

Decided I would use it for this weeks Colour Create challenge card and here it is.............

The Crafting won

Hi, I did manage to get the gardening done before the rain came but afraid it sapped all my energy so the housework has to wait. However I did manage to summon up enough energy to make it to the craft room and rustle up a card for Sketch Saturday. I haven't joined in this challenge before but must say it is a fabby sketch so I will definately be joining in again. The sponsor for this weeks challenge is Simon Says Stamp .

I used Basic Grey Cupcake papers, green card put through cuttlebug swiss dots folder.
The stamped image is by Pink Gem designs and coloured with distress inks & whispers.
The ribbon, buttons, bird house and sentiment are all from stash.

Tuesday Taggers

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good weekend and feel refreshed for the week ahead. I've got to play catch up with the housework and gardening today as I got a bit behind with everything last week, just wasn't in the mood. Well I've got the washing done, next I think I need to tackle the garden, the lawn desperately needs cutting and a couple of shrubs need a trim, hey ho happy days! If I've any energy left I'll start indoors but it might have to wait until tomorrow, I know it never comes, especially if I start crafting.

Well here is my creation for the Tuesday Taggers challenge which this week is to make something for a special friend. The prize this week is genorously donated by The Craft Emporium who are offering some fantastic goodies. I had a dear friend & ex workmate in mind when I made this card. She loves all the cards I make for her and really appreciates all the effort and love that goes into them. She is also a brilliant cross stitcher knitter and all round good egg. So Joan this is for you.

The base card is Bazzill Bling, tent fold front & back. The backing paper is from the Flower fairy friends CD and the Almond Fairy image and sentiment are from the rubber stamp collection that accompanies the CD. The flowers are stamps from the same collection sprayed with the gold glitter spray from CC with paper roses and pearls added. Ribbon and pearls from stash.

Right better go and show willing in the garden before the rain comes.

Take care

Love, Pat xx

Crafters Companion challenge

Hi all, hope you are having a good day. Thought I'd pop on to post a piccy of the card I've made for the Crafters Companion challenge. This is a new challenge blog that started this week so if you'd like to check it out just click here. Sara has generously donated a Popcorn the Bear stamp as candy this week.

I decided that as Jayne's Cute Christmas stamps are Pick of the Week on Create and Craft this week I'd use them for the image on my card. The snowman, snowflake and sentiment are all from the stamp collection annd the backing papers are from the CD, the main one being printed on velum. These stamps and the CD are just gorgeous and a joy to work with and there's an image to suit everyone young and old.

Thanks for visiting

Can't believe it!

Well I just can't believe it's been a week since I've been on here, where does the time go. To be honest it's been a struggle today to get this posted but I'm determined to do some blogging today. I have a problem with my eyes (dry eye syndrome) and it really is a pain, in more ways than one when they are playing up which they have the last few days. It makes it difficult to look at the computer screen. Don't want you to think I'm looking for sympathy but just wanted to explain part of the reason I've been abscent.
I did manage to get a couple of cards made for my friend Ann who became a Nanna for the first time last week to a gorgeous baby girl Lily Mae. The Nestie shaped one is for Ann. I created the card shape by scanning the largest Nestie label shape and enlarging it in word to use as a template. All the stamped images are from the Crafters Companion Cute Companion stamp sets and have been coloured using some pearly watercolours.
The Baby card is for Anns daughter and husband. The letters are from the Crafters Companion Cute Companions CD. As the letters aren't this large on the CD, I accessed the jpeg images by opening My Computer right clicked on the CC CD and clicked on open. I opened data and then Alphabets, then copied & pasted the letters I wanted into Word and resized. The papers are from the CD and I also used stamped images of the mice inside the card. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics of the inside but I used the same images as on the other card.

Yesterday my daughter and I had a girly day out and went to see We Will Rock You at Birmingham Hippodrome. I had seen it in London but enjoyed it just as much. I was able to use my OAP free travel pass on the train and got a reduction on the show ticket so there are perks to being 60!!!
Right better try and get around a few blogs now and I do apologise for not visiting this past week.
Take care all

Tuesday Taggers

Hi all, hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather, phew it's hot but I'm not complaining even though I am wilting a little.

Well here is my creation for the Tuesday Taggers challenge which this week was to include distressing on your tag, card or basically whatever you feel like creating. If your not up on your distressing there's even a video by the fantastic Tim Holtz to give you ideas and inspiration. As if that wasn't enough to prompt you to get over there there's a fabby prize on offer generously donated by The Craft Barn, and some absolutely brilliant creations by the DT,go on check it out!

I decided to make a tag this week and have a good old dabble at the distressing, which I'm not really that experienced at.

I started out by crumpling up a tag I had in the stationery draw and rubbing over it with the brushed corduroy distress ink and a little bit of faded jeans. I then rubbed a versamark pad across it and embossed with gold embossing powder. I added some more Versamark and embossed with ruby blush blaze cosmic shimmer and again with golden lime blaze cosmic shimmer. I thought the red was standing out too much so I rubbed the brushed corduroy distress ink over again. Because I had got carried away adding the powders I hadn't pressed the tag flat so decided to risk doing it now. I wrapped the tag between layers of white paper and pressed with my iron praying I didn't end up with a sticky mess on the iron!!! Wow what a result, the effect of the heat on the cosmic shimmers was gorgeous. You can't beat a bit of experimentation, well I wouldn't have been saying that if I had a gungy mess on the iron but it was fine.
I stamped a little image that once again I had picked up in a bargain bin awhile ago, it says and they lived happily ever after". I coloured it with Whispers. The ribbon, fabric button and little heart charm (coloured with peeloff pens) are all from stash and the little piece of card from my odd bits.

Sorry the details are a bit lengthy but I really needed to share experiment with you 'cause it was exciting. Sad aren't I?
Well off now to create a couple of baby cards for my friend who became a nanna yesterday to a beautiful baby girl.
Have fun in the sun
Love, Pat xx
