Birthday Boy

As I said yesterday it's John's birthday today and he shares it with the Queen. He says that when he lived in London he always got a 21 gun salute but all he gets up here in the West Midlands is a quick verse of Happy Birthday to You. Not quite the same is it?

Here is the card I made for him.

It's a stand up card that folds flat. I hadn't made on of these for ages but saw Haley making one on C&C last week and decided to use the design for John's card.  The text paper is actually Tim Holtz tissue tape laid out in strips and Distress Inked.  The image is by Crafty Individuals and the ticket is one of Creative Expressions.

Now here are a few more that I've created over the past week.

A Buzcraft stamp watercoloured.

A butterfly medallion coloured with Chrystal Laquer

Penny Black Stamp coloured with copics. I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp challenge

A quick and easy box. The lid and base cut with Nestabilities and the stamp is from the CC Occasions collection.

Hope you all have a good weekend and thank you so  much for visiting me and leaving comments, I really do appreciate it.

It's been a while!!

Well I've finally got around to updating my blog. Just haven't been able to find the time lately.
Mind you I haven't been doing anything very exciting it's just life gettting in the way.

Thought I would share a card with you today. I made this for my dear friend Joan who celebrates her 70th birthday today. Poor Joan had a bit of a health scare a few weeks ago but I'm so pleased to say she has made a great recovery and is looking great and raring to go on her wonderful holiday to Hawaii.

Here's the card

Another glittered medallion

I made a box to go with it but when I checked my photos although I photographed the various stages of making the box I had no photo of the completed box, doh! Anyway you'll have to take my word for it but it was very pretty.

Well tomorrow is hubby John's birthday so I'll be back then to share the card that I made for him.

Have a good weekend.
Hugs,
Pat xx

Michael Powell

Well I finally got around to doing some card making this week. I have been busy the last couple of weeks decorating and moving stuff about so the upstairs of our house is very disorganised at the moment. So it hasn't been too easy to get in my craft room. Anyway I managed to venture in this morning as I needed a card for my dear SIL. Well to be honest I've got a box full of cards that I could have dipped into but I do like to make one especially for the person.

I bought some Michael Powell stamps last week.  I've always loved his quirky designs and bought the original ones from The English Stamp company a few years ago. These new ones are from Docrafts and I love 'em. Here is the card I made with one of them.

I coloured the image with copics. The paper is from a Wild Rose Studio pack called Kalahari Dreams. The border is a Martha Stuart and the swirl and sentiment are cut with Spellbinder dies.
Hope you like it as much as I do. Please let me know what you think.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.
Love
Pat xx
