Alter it - Frame

Well  I had a  lovely day at the NEC on Friday, meeting up with my dear friends from Crafters Companion, Jayne Nestorenko  and my fellow DT  members Jacqui (Cats Whiskers) and Carol. I came back with lots of lovely goodies which I haven't even had time to take out of the bag yet! I've still got the goodies I bought at Malvern  to play with if I ever get time. So much to do so little time.

This week the challenge on Try it on Tuesday is Alter it and we'd like you to alter a frame.
The challenge is sponsored this week by out very good friends at the Craft Barn so don't forget to  link them in your post to be in with a chance of winning.

Here's my frame

I found this frame in the Range, it is part of a set of three hanging from some wooden letters spelling Little Princess.  It was reduced to £2 because some of the letters are missing which doesn't  matter to me.  So I now have two more frames to use for other projects. Bargain!
For the flowers I've used that freebie stamp (Craft Stamper) again on grunge paper and embossed it with gold sparkle WOW embossing powder. I've also embossed around the edges of the frame with the same powder.  I used cosmic shimmer mica powders to colour them. The butterfly is an MS punch glittered with stickles and the ribbon and beads are from my stash. The image is from the Fairyopolis CD.
The DT, as always, have some fabulous creations to share with you on the TioT blog so do please pop over and check them out and maybe  you'll feel inspired to join us this week.
Thanks you for stopping by.

Give us an inch!

This week it's the turn of Cazro to choose the ANYTHING GOES challenge at Try it on Tuesday. She would like us to use AT LEAST 3 INCHIES within our design.

I decided to have a go at creating an inchie cube hanging.  I'd been meaning to have a go at this for  while so what better time than for this challenge.

Once I had got my head around creating the template for the cubes I was away.  Trouble is they are so tiny it's difficult to know how to decorate them.   I coloured the card with a Big and Juicy pad then sprayed with gold Spray and Sparkle before assembling them.  I made holes in the top and bottom panels to thread the cord through and added beads as I went.  When all assembled I used a clear embossing pen to draw some freestyle patterns which I then embossed using cosmic shimmer black sparkle embossing powder.
We'd love you to join us for the challenge this week so please check out the challenge blog and get some inspiration from our fantastic DT.
Thanks for visiting me today.
Love, Pat xx

The Sun has got his hat on!!

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunshine that we  have here in the West  Midlands today.

We had a nice drive out to the local Vineyard this morning. Never mind the wine, they have a lovely cafe and a lovely craft shop there.  Now you  might not believe this but I didn't buy anything at all. That's a first I can tell you, think I must be coming down with something. Well I can make up next week at the NEC.

Here is a card I made a while ago but I don't think I've put it on here before. Forgive me if you've seen it before, the old grey matter is not what it used to be.

The image and sentiment I got at the NEC back in November and at the moment I can't think who they are by (told you the memories gone) . Oh hang on I think it's coming back could it be Butterfly Kisses? Anyway I stamped them onto plain white paper which I coloured using distress inks.  The shimmery background is one I made up using acetate, spray inks and spray & sparkle.  I like this stamp because although I love the collage style I'm not too confident in  doing it, so this stamp gives the look without the stress.  I do intend to try and master the technique though, well one day.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Pat xx

Today's the Day!

I think you've all got the message now that it's launch day for the fantastic Fairyopolis collection on Ideal World 9pm
So without further ado here is another little taster.

This first one is using images from the sentiments section of the CD Rom

The images and sentiment are from the stamps and the paper design (printed directly to Snow White Centura pearl card) is from the CD-Rom. Believe me the papers on these CD's are amazing.
Well hope you've enjoyed the little peeks and I do hope you  manage to see the shows.
As always, thank you for visiting and for your lovely comments which are really appreciated.
Hugs,
Pat xx

Chocolate!!

It's Tuesday and time for the latest Try it on Tuesday challenge.
This week you can make whatever you like as long as you use the theme of Chocolate, which was chosen by our super talented Michelle. Michelle celebrated her birthday last week and I think she was hoping she'd get some, hope you did Michelle.
I decided to make a card with Easter in  mind.

I cut out an egg shape from some lovely shimmery brown paper I had in my stash. The DP is by Craftwork Cards as is the sentiment  (shame I covered it with the ribbon when I took the photo) and candy.  The flowers are stamped using a freebie from Craft Stamper a while ago, I just added a little bit of colour with my Whisper water colour pens. The ribbon is from my stash.
We would love you to join us this week for the challenge so please pop over to the TioT challenge blog to get some inspiration from the design team.
Have a good day

This is quite a simple little card but one of my favourites.  I love this paper from the CD-rom, it's so versatile and could be used with any stamps.  The images and sentiment are from the stamp sets and I've used copics for the colouring and Spray and Sparkle on the wings. The glittered butterfly is a Martha Stuart.
I've had quite a relaxing morning. Two hours of watching the super talented Barbara Gray on Create and Craft followed by a bit of crafting, then lunch.  The sun is shining and lovely blue sky so all is good with the world today.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Art Deco card Tutorial

Hi there dear friends hope you are having a good day. It's a bit blustery out there and has certainly blown the cobwebs away this morning.
Just thought I would share a card with you today that I have created as a tutorial. The tutorial itself is on the Crafters Companion News Views and inspiration blog.

You've probably seen this style of card on my blog before as it's  a design I created quite a while ago. I'd been asked to do a tutorial but never got around to it. Well to be honest I'm not confident on the tutorial side of things but I managed and really quite enjoyed doing it.

Before I go I really must apologise for being a bad blogger lately but I will really try to get around to visiting all my lovely blogging friends now that I am feeling back in the land of the living (just been a bit off colour nothing more).
Thank you so must for visiting me I really do appreciate it.
Hugs,
Pat xx

Try it on Tuesday

It's time for another challenge with Try it on Tuesday and this week it's TAGS we are creating with the theme chosen by our very own Ildiko. The theme isWOMEN by way of celebration of International Womens Day.

I've used a Big and Juicy Pad -Foliage to colour the tag then I edged it with Perfect Medium and embossed it using Sheena's WOW Brass sparkling embossing powder.  The image is from Crafty Individuals Miniatures People & Places 2 pad. I aged the lace using a copic pen and the other bits are from my stash.

Sorry I have to dash as I've an appointment to keep and I'm running late.
Bye for now and thanks for stopping by.

Can it really be March!!

Where does the time time? I can't believe it's March and time for another challenge over at the Crafters Companion challenge blog.
This month we would like you to create an Easter card. Remember you don't have to use Crafters Companion products but if you do you'll be entered twice into the random draw for Sara's fabulous prize of a £30 voucher.

I decided to use the Occasions CD-Rom for the pyrimage and backing paper and a stamp from the Everyday sentiment stamp set.
I embossed some Core'dinations card from the lime pack in my cuttlebug and then distressed it to show the core. I also distressed the edged of the DP and lime card then added a bit of faux stitching.

Do please pop over to the CC challenge blog to check out the fantastic DT creations and hopefully you'll feel inspired enough to join us for the challenge.

Thank you so  much for stopping by today.

Inspired by a song

Try it on Tuesday Challenge- Sponsored by One Stop Card Craft
This week I have chosen the theme and I would like you to create a card which is inspired by a song.
I decided to use this song as my inspiration, just follow the link to have a listen.

 Little Bird - Annie Lennox

Bird stamp and sentiment by Sheena Douglass
Coloured using Whisper water colour pens
Layered onto Acetate coloured with cosmic shimmer sprays and Spray and Sparkle by Crafters Companion

I think this one could be fun recalling songs that we love,or that bring back some memories . I just can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.
The DT have come up with some crackers so please do stop by the TioT blog to get some inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by,
