Hi all, hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather, phew it's hot but I'm not complaining even though I am wilting a little.
Well here is my creation for the Tuesday Taggers challenge which this week was to include distressing on your tag, card or basically whatever you feel like creating. If your not up on your distressing there's even a video by the fantastic Tim Holtz to give you ideas and inspiration. As if that wasn't enough to prompt you to get over there there's a fabby prize on offer generously donated by The Craft Barn, and some absolutely brilliant creations by the DT,go on check it out!
I decided to make a tag this week and have a good old dabble at the distressing, which I'm not really that experienced at.
I started out by crumpling up a tag I had in the stationery draw and rubbing over it with the brushed corduroy distress ink and a little bit of faded jeans. I then rubbed a versamark pad across it and embossed with gold embossing powder. I added some more Versamark and embossed with ruby blush blaze cosmic shimmer and again with golden lime blaze cosmic shimmer. I thought the red was standing out too much so I rubbed the brushed corduroy distress ink over again. Because I had got carried away adding the powders I hadn't pressed the tag flat so decided to risk doing it now. I wrapped the tag between layers of white paper and pressed with my iron praying I didn't end up with a sticky mess on the iron!!! Wow what a result, the effect of the heat on the cosmic shimmers was gorgeous. You can't beat a bit of experimentation, well I wouldn't have been saying that if I had a gungy mess on the iron but it was fine.
I stamped a little image that once again I had picked up in a bargain bin awhile ago, it says and they lived happily ever after". I coloured it with Whispers. The ribbon, fabric button and little heart charm (coloured with peeloff pens) are all from stash and the little piece of card from my odd bits.
Sorry the details are a bit lengthy but I really needed to share experiment with you 'cause it was exciting. Sad aren't I?
Well off now to create a couple of baby cards for my friend who became a nanna yesterday to a beautiful baby girl.
Have fun in the sun
Love, Pat xx
