A Christmas selection

Well it's over for another year so now to look forward to 2016.
Thought I would just share a few oof my Christmas makes today. Unfortuately I seem to have missed out taking photos of some of my best creations. Too hasty to get them in the post!

This first one is simply paper rolled to make the tree.

For this one I used some Jayne Nestorenko stamps, Sue Wilson foliage and Spellbinders bauble dies

This wreath is a copy of the one I made at Andy Coate's workshop at Sunrise Crafts, Wombourne

This is a frame I decorated with various pieces of embossed card  and bits & bobs coloured with Distress Inks and gilding wax

For this one I used a Sue Wilson stamp

and for this one I used the Sue Wilson Greeting tree die glittered and  Sweet Dixie poinsettia dies

Well that's about it. All that's left is to wish you a very Happy New Year.

New home

My son & his wife moved into their new house this week and this is the card I made for them. The centre panel was created using Brushos which I love. The house & tree stamp was a freebie with Craft Stamper magazine some time ago. The banner was made with Clarity stamps.
Thanks for visiting

Where did November go

Two cards today that I made last month. I have been making a few Christmas cards but wont share them as they haven't been sent to the recipients yet and I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.

The first card is one I made for a dear friend's birthday. The backing paper is one I created using the same DI that I had used to colour the lovely poppy image and some gold random embossing.

This next one I made for my dear Granddaughter Jessica's 16th birthday last month. Like me she loves the Gorjuss girls.I coloured the image with copics, the sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamped onto a topper from the gg paper pack.

I just have a couple more Chrissy cards to do then I'm done. Must admit I have bought some cards  this year as time has been short.
I did attend a couple of workshops at Sunrise Crafts, Wombourne last month which was great fun. One with Andrew Coates where we made a lovely Christmas wreath.

The other with Bhanu when we made a gorgeous card which I will share at a later date.

Wells that's it from me today
sending very best wishes

All that Jazz

Well it's been a while but I'm back.

These two cards where made for my daughter. The first one using Visible image stamp, Crealies patchwork die No.1 and background created using shaving foam and dylusions sprays. A technique we did at Pauline Butcher's workshop in August.

The second card I made for her Wedding Anniversary. The background was created with dylusions sprays and a variety of background stamps and also Rubberdance stamps.

I really enjoyed making these card. The Jazz one is particularly apt as my daughter Justine in a big fan of Curtis Stigers, jazz singer and sax player.

All that shimmers!

Today I am sharing a card and small canvas that I made for a dear friend who celebrated her birthday on Friday.
As you have probably guessed by now I love using the black and gilding wax technique so I used it for both the card and canvas, well why not? It's fun!

I used the same gilding waxes on both the card and canvas. Creative Expressions Deep Red and Graceful Blue along with Viva Inka Gold.

For the card I used Cosmic Shimmer Gold Pearl Texture Paste through the Fantasy Willow Sweet Poppy stencil onto black card which I edged using a Krylon gold pen. The background was created using Sue Wilson's Pinpoint embossing folding and gilding wax.  Shame the lovely shimmer doesn't show as well on the photos as in real life.

Bye for now

Nice cuppa

We had a most enjoyable time last week.
Started on the Saturday with a brilliant workshop by Andy Coates at Sunrise Crafts. We made a fabulous teacup canvas which I love.
Then it was off to Hornchurch on Sunday for a lovely famly meal to celebrate my Sister in laws 75th birthday. We then moved on to Sudbury where we stayed for a few days with John's brother and his wife at their lovely bungalow and beautiful garden. It was very enjoyable.

Here is a card I created using the shaving foam and spray paint background and Sweet poppy Dragon stencil with and glitter paste. Using the stencil with this background gives the look of a sea horse I think.

Thanks for stopping by.

All about him

Todays card is one I made for my SIL's birthday last month.
As you can see from the photo it was a Special birthday.
I used Serif Craft Artist professional 2 and a Gracie Tracy digi kit All about him, which I love and obviously great for men's cards.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

Getting messy

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to attend Pauline Butcher's workshop in Warwick. We had a great time getting messy and thoroughly enjoying it.  We concentrated on some techniques with colour using distress inks and inky sprays. We were able to finish off our creations with stamps and stencils of our choice so no two pieces were the same.

Here are my finished creations.

This one I stencilled when I got home.

We used Visible Image stamps and Sweet Poppy stencils.

Well I'm now off to finish a card for my SIL's special birthday next week.

Wednesday 12 August 2015

Well we are back from a lovely holiday in Felpham,West Sussex. I love this place as we have a house on the sea front and it is lovely just to sit and watch the world go by. The weather was kind to us and it was lovely to have the company of our Daughter, SIL and Grandchildren.

Anyway without further ado here is the card that was commissioned by a friend for her daughter's 30th birthday which was today.

I embossed the blue card using a Sue Wilson folder then added a touch of gold gilding wax to the raised areas. I cut the butterflies using a Sue Wilson die then embossed them with some Wow glitter embossing powder. The image is taken from part of an Indigo Blu stamp and I layered it onto card which I had also embossed with the glitter embossing powder.

I have recently started an Art Journal, something I have thought about doing for quite a while. So here are my first two pages.

I have really enjoyed my first attempts and found it so relaxing just going with the flow. I really believe this could become addictive, if I can only find the time that is.

Kind regards

Summer?

Another dull and dismal day today here in the West Midlands of the UK.  Not much like summer at all at the moment but hopefully the sun will get his hat on before too long.

A very good friend of mine became a Nanny for the first time last week to a gorgeous baby girl Olivia Louise. So today I am sharing with you the cards I made for the very proud parents and grandparents.

For this first one for the parents I used the fabulous Crealies patchwork die, which I love, and the stamped image is LOTV. The heart pattered paper I printed from the Dreamee's Floral Delight CD

For this one for the Grandparents I used the same LOTV stamp and again papers and flowers from the Dreamee's CD. The banner is LaLa Land and the die is Spellbinders

I have also created a frame but will have to wait to show that as I haven't parted with it yet.

Well that's about it from me today.
Bye for now

Monday 22 June 2015

I'm back with a couple of last weeks makes. Still got the bug  for creating these frames so this is the latest I made last week. Find this very relaxing and therapeutic. Amazing what you can do with a bit of cardboard, some black gesso and gilding wax.

Another of my latest favourites is the Crealies patchwork die No.1. I used a Sweet Poppy stencil and Cosmic Shimmer glitter paste.

Kind regards

Monday 8 June 2015

The sun has got his hat on

Well I've had a lovely few days both out enjoying the lovely sunshine and crafting.
On Thursday we had a ride out and guess what ended up at a craft shop, the lovely Sunrise Crafts at Wombourne, Staffordshire. I treated myself to a Sweet Poppy stencil and a set of tonic dies. Anyway while I was there and Bhanu was showing me some cards she'd made using some of the stencils I spied a lovely altered art mirror. Turned out that there was a class on Saturday to create one, so I signed up. Although I have shopped at this store many times I have never joined in any of the classes. Well what a great class it was by Andy Coates. Thoroughly enjoyable with lovely company. I shall join more.

So here is the mirror I created, hope you like it. It has a fantastic metalic look.

Now here is what I created with the Sweet poppy stencil I bought. I used some Creative Expressions Glitter paste though the stencil and added some background detail using distress ink and sequin waste.

Here's hoping the good weather stays a while.
So until the next time
Kind regards
Pat xx

Flaming June?

Flaming June? Here's hoping but it's not started too well has it?
Apparently things are going to get better tomorrow so I shall live in hope.
In the meantime here are a few makes from the past week or so.

This first one is an  Ikea mirror decorated with Gorjuss girl papers, a bit of dry embossing and diecutting.
I stamped and coloured the image using copics, although the colours are more vibrant in real life.

I think my liking for these Gorjuss girl stamps has become evident lately. I coloured her with copics again for this card and used a spellbinders embossing folder for the backing and Sue Wilson dies for the flowers.

I took inspiration for this card from one I saw in CS magazine. I used Spellbinder embossing folder, DI's and some stamps I've had for quite a while

Finally I've paper pieced this lovely Julie Nutting doll. The border was embossed using one of Sue Wilson's pin point embossing folder.

Well until the next time,
Bye for now

The wanderer returns.

I know it's been a while and no excuses, just been a bit tied up.

So without further ado here are some cards I've made recently.
To be honest haven't been doing too much crafting lately.

For the first two cards I used a Crealies patchwork die No.1. I saw this die on Eileen Godwin's page and I just had to get it. I know I shall be using this die a lot as I love it's versatility. The first card I made for my Mom's 92nd birthday last week. I cut the letters on my Slice.

This second one is my first attempt at using the dies. So easy to do.

Well I just had to use one of my Gorjuss stamps for this card. My Granddaughter Jessica loves these girls and has several items featuring this particular Gorjuss girl. The papers are from the GG paper sets.

I have used another of the GG to decorate a mirror which I will show you another time (well I forgot to take a photo). I also made a lovely owl cushion but forgot to take a photo before I gave it to Jessica. What am I like?

Enjoy the bank holiday
Bye for now

Mixing it up

Today I want to share with you three makes from this week. Quite a productive week for me at the moment.
The first card is one I  made for my BIL & his wife. I have used a Spellbinders die and Tim Holrz sentiment border and quote. Of course I had to get a bit of glitter in on the act so used some by Martha Stuart

This next one is for my Mom on Mothers Day tomorrow here in the UK. Another Spellbinder die and I layered the butterfly by cutting out an extra one from the diecut. The letters and banner are Clarity Stamp

Now the next creation is something a little different for me. I was inspired by the gorgeous creation
by Rachel on Youtube. Now my mixed media creation may not come anywhere near as good as Rachel's but I really enjoyed making it and that's what it's all about for me. I think I am going to create a mixed media journal now that I am hooked.
I created the background by spraying Cosmic shimmer sprays and water. Added texture with white brilliance ink through sequin waste. I used texture paste through a stencil for the branches leaves and birds, then coloured them with twinkling H2Os and a touch of Creative expressions gilding wax. I stamped the girl in the moon stamp with black Versafine and coloured with T H2Os. The flower stamps are JOFY and Inkilicious (I think). The white were stamped & white embossed directly to the card but the JOFY were stamped onto parchment, coloured, cut out and stuck to the card.

Well that's about it for today.
Hope you like what you've seen and I would love to hear your comments.

Two pretty girls

Has a lovely weekend. Friday night out for a meal with my bessie mates which was lovely. Saturday night reunion with my workmates going back 26years. Sunday out to lunch with my son , daughter in law and her parents as an early celebration for their birthdays which are tomorrow.

Now a couple of cards I made last week.
For the first one I dug out one of my older stamps, Elizabeth Bell I think, and coloured it with copics.
I used Spellbinder dies for the mats and Sue Wilson dies for the leaves and flowers

For the second one I used one of the Clarity stencils, stamps (dog) and Distress Inks. The background is an acrylic gelli plate print.

Well that's about it from me today.
Until the next time

Live, Laugh, Love

Hello I'm back today to share some cards that I've created recently.

This first one is a brayered background and the balloons are Clarity Stamps. The flowers are from a versatile set I've had for a while but can't recall the make.

This second card was made to use up bits and pieces that were lying about on my desk
apart from the actual images which I found in amongst my stash. Waste not want not.

This third and final one was a bit of experimenting with cosmic shimmer sprays and stamps from the set I used on the first card. Shame you can't see the lovely shimmer.

Think I'm up to date with my posting so I'll get back to creating.
