Butterfly Tag

It's Tuesday so that means another challenge over at Try it on Tuesday.
It's TAG week with the theme of BUTTERFLIES
Here is my creation.

I decided to try out the acetate and gilding flakes technique that Barbara Gray demonstrated on C&C last week. So thank you Barbara and  Gwen.
I took a sheet of double sided sticky paper and peeled away the protective paper from one side. I then inked up the stamp (Imagination) with Stazon and stamped directly onto the sticky.  I laid a piece of acetate (cut the same size as the sticky paper) over the sticky paper.  I peeled the protective paper from the back and spread gilding flakes over the sticky & voila! I then cut out the tag shape and mounted it onto a piece of cor'dinations card and distressed the edges. I added a couple of butterflies cut using an MS punch and added a bit of stickles.
Well I hope you like it and if you'd like to see more please do pop over to the Try it on Tuesday challenge blog to see what my fellow teamies have come up with. you'll be glad you did.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and it would be lovely if you decided to join us for the challenge.
Have a good day

Lovely day.

Well what funny weather, sunny one minute, downpours the next. Never mind I've had a lovely day out today with my hubby, mum and daughter. We had a ride out to the Halfpenny Green Vineyards. I had some cards to take to the Mountain Ash craft store which is based at the vineyards. They are sold to raise money for the local hospice and last year £1500 was raised which is excellent. Of course we had to visit the other little craft shops and came back with some lovely little gifts which I will be putting away for Christmas (just hope I can find them in December).   Couldn't leave without a nice cuppa and cake from the tea rooms, lovely!
When we got back I decided to make a card for my dear Sister in law who has been feeling a bit under the weather.  It was a quickie so that I could catch the post but I'm happy with the result.

The backing paper is from a Bo Bunny Grabrielle collection pad and the image is from Sheena Douglass's Wouldn it be Loverly stamp set coloured with Marvey Le Plume pens. Nestie label coloured with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The brad and tag is by Stella and Rose.
I am entering this into the Make my Monday challenge which has started up this week and the theme is red flowers.

Well that's about it from me for the moment, must get dinner sorted.
Thank you for stopping by.

Weird and Wonderful

Hi there one and all.
Well as the title says this week for the Try it on Tuesday challenge our fantastic teamie Georgina would like us to create a card following the theme Weird and Wonderful.  This week we are sponsored by One Stop Card Crafts so please don't forget to link them in your post should you decide to join us for the challenge.

I wasn't too sure where to go with this so I took a look around the Octopode Factory shop and was spoilt for choice with all the fantastic digital images.  I decided to download the Queen Elizabeth 1 image to use for my creation.

I created the background using a Creative Expressions stencil, Distress Inks. (Fired Brick and Faded Jeans) and some sequin waste with a spray of pearl Glimmer Mist. The border was cut using a wide MS border punch. I coloured the image using copics with a little touch of stickles on the crown and ruffle. The sentiment was generated on my computer using Word.

Well this is about as weird as I do but I'm sure you'd love to check out the fantastic ideas that my fellow teamies have come up with so do please pop over to the TioT blog and check them out.

Thank you for visiting me today and for leaving your much valued comments.
Hugs,
Pat xx
